No to PVP. All resources to bandits, not PVP. Luckily that's already the case. No mind changing needed.
I'd probably care were I an academic. I did say someone might do a study.Making these two statements next to one another is a bit.. academically obnoxious.
So, you actively don't care if your ideas match reality? Neither does anyone else, tbh, but most aren't that blatant about itI'd probably care were I an academic.
I also said I could be wrong. But, of course, you're intent on nothing but trying to get a rise out of me when I've already told you I'm concentrating on healthy trends while most everyone else wraps themselves up in "end times" scenarios and waits for the sky to fall. It's the seedlings of a new era that require nourishment, imo, but we appear intent as a species on feeding the beast. It's of no consequence to me whether you share my point of view or not and, I hope it doesn't upset you, but my feathers aren't ruffled. Let me know when and if you're ever intent on earnest engagement with the subject rather than thinking about me or, especially, yourself. So, you actively don't care if your ideas match reality? Planting seeds of lies/falsehoods to foster in a new era; while I'll trust your intent is as you say, your methods will bear inevitable fruit. It's the seedlings of a new era that require nourishment, imo,
Let me spell it out for then as you obviously didn't get my initial response:Planting seeds of lies/falsehoods to foster in a new era; while I'll trust your intent is as you say, your methods will bear inevitable fruit.
All my sins are sins of omission.I'd probably care what you think of making those two statements together in a casual conversation were I an academic
Here's a strange thought. Not everyone wants to play PvP. Sometimes players want to play alone. It's also not my job to convince you because you're not the one making these decisions.Change my mind...
"The market for PvP and PvE has shrunk."The subject, of course, is PvP and PvE.
That is the only thing you've said that I would agree with. Not because of PVP, but because I have a feeling bandits won't be that great and being able to disable them so this is still solely a zombie game would be good for PVE.But i think bandits could be a config option (on/off)
2.0 improved PVP? cause when i looked at armour cosmetic system - i realised PVP would be compleatly K.Oed with this update! Just imagining abillity to reskin heavy armour in to light armour brrr! That is the only thing you've said that I would agree with. Btw, the largest proponent to adding PVP to this game (Grandpa Minion) states that 2.0 was the best improvement to PVP ever and that the devs are adding all kinds of PVP improvements to the game. Lol! I disagree, but he says it's true.![]()

Chivalry in PVP? They can't even play nice. It is a main reason so few people play PVP.Even before that players could run around with a pipe pistol to look like easy targets and then switch to an M60
I seem to have missed it when they added a chivalry codex to PvP![]()
The best written records of chivalry are "Guides to Chivalry" .. why would something like that be written? Well, cuz the knights wouldn't play nice, eitherChivalry in PVP? They can't even play nice. It is a main reason so few people play PVP.![]()
Bandits are not there to emulate people in a game. That was never the intention. They will provide a unique challenge from the zombies, but definitely will not replicate a PVP experience. The Fun Pimps are planning to add NPC bandits to 7 Days to Die as human-like PvE enemies. These bandits aim to provide a PvE alternative for players who want human adversaries but prefer to avoid PvP combat. They will have unique AI behaviors, including raiding player bases from their own camps or strongholds. Bandit raids will involve them breaking into bases, targeting storage, and calling in reinforcements, creating a strategic challenge distinct from zombie hordes. Their strongholds will evolve into heavily defended Points of Interest that players can assault for valuable loot.
IN my humble opinion; PvP already provides dynamic, unpredictable human conflict that many players find engaging and essential to the game’s sandbox experience. Supporters contend that PvP enables player-driven emergent gameplay, alliances, betrayals, and competitive base raiding, all of which add a layer of excitement that AI bandits may struggle to replicate authentically. Because PvP offers genuine human unpredictability and player creativity, some community members feel that the developers should prioritize fixing and polishing existing PvP mechanics—such as balancing combat, improving server stability, reducing exploits, and enhancing player communication—before introducing new PvE bandits.

If they ever do something to support more than 8 players, it isn't likely to happen until after 4.0. They have stated that they are designing this game for 1-8 players and don't support more than that.I used to PvP in 7 days but the servers can't handle it. There are too many bugs, exploits, and broken mechanics to support it. I would prefer PvP to bandits if it worked.
However, I've ner been a fan of the bandits idea because there has been so much broken about the game over time that I'd prefer if they worked on the "sandbox mode" they talked about in the stream instead. Shelve both PvP and Bandits for now. Work on the ability for servers to support more than 8 players. Populated sandbox servers are the peak experience for 7D2D imo.
I'm really not sure why you think it's important to tell me what the current plans are. I already know all of this. I'm just giving my opinions on direction. If they ever do something to support more than 8 players, it isn't likely to happen until after 4.0. As far as bandits, they are going to appear in 3.0. Nothing will change that. They might start out a little limited in 3.0 and then improve in 3.1, 3.2, etc., but they will already in 3.0.
Not everyone know the plans. If you want to talk about hypothetical ways things could be done, even knowing they won't be done that way, then that is fineI'm really not sure why you think it's important to tell me what the current plans are.
