Upcoming Bandits in 7 Days to Die

The Fun Pimps are planning to add NPC bandits to 7 Days to Die as human-like PvE enemies. These bandits aim to provide a PvE alternative for players who want human adversaries but prefer to avoid PvP combat. They will have unique AI behaviors, including raiding player bases from their own camps or strongholds. Bandit raids will involve them breaking into bases, targeting storage, and calling in reinforcements, creating a strategic challenge distinct from zombie hordes. Their strongholds will evolve into heavily defended Points of Interest that players can assault for valuable loot.

IN my humble opinion; PvP already provides dynamic, unpredictable human conflict that many players find engaging and essential to the game’s sandbox experience. Supporters contend that PvP enables player-driven emergent gameplay, alliances, betrayals, and competitive base raiding, all of which add a layer of excitement that AI bandits may struggle to replicate authentically. Because PvP offers genuine human unpredictability and player creativity, some community members feel that the developers should prioritize fixing and polishing existing PvP mechanics—such as balancing combat, improving server stability, reducing exploits, and enhancing player communication—before introducing new PvE bandits.

Change my mind...

I have one friend that plays this. Id play with her but how else do I meet people to play? Idk. Is there a loading room to mingle?
I happen to very much enjoy playing by myself and like NPC combat.
Both are good.
Id probably be more willing to try openly joinable games after experience NPC raiders.

I'm not going to try to change your mind. I'm just going to say different people like different things.
I'll very likely never play pvp in this game because it seems woefully unbalanced. New pvp players seem like they will get wrecked by the higher level ones. The idea of someone destroying my base and all the things I store in it? No thank you.

Why would anyone want to change your mind? PVP is a minor thing in this game. You won't convince the PVE players, who greatly outnumber PVP players, that PVP should take precedence over PVE. I may not think bandits will be a good addition to this game, but it is a big deal to a lot of players. Not everyone wants to play against other people.

Sadly PVP mode is in dead/terrible state for long time considering game is ballanced entirely on PVE
But i think bandits could be a config option (on/off) in world generating so for example if u make PVP servers u could disable them and if PVE - enable!

before introducing new PvE bandits.
Bandits / NPCs are going to be used for the not-yet-published kickstarter goal of "a story mode". PvP is already out in the form of "turn on damage to players". Thus they'll need to push out bandits, but they Don't need to touch PvP at all to fulfill their promises.

Mind changed? Probably not, but that's not on me .. ;)

U PVE guys are saying like u are forced to play it at gunpoint bruh :D! PVP is important as additional gameplay option for players who may get bored from PVE (heard about "Variaty?")! Other players must not buy new game just to play different game mode because of some low player base % dont like it! The more gameplay option game will have, the richer it will be - its very simple! Devs previosly added PVP long time ago and even added some content for this specific gamemode! I could agree, if 7 days didnt had PVP "at all", but considering that they planted seed for this gamemode - they need to take care of it too! And remember - nothing will beat the experience of fighting against unpredictable real player, even the AI of the Fear game NPCs!

Nope. Don´t want PvP. If i wanted a PvP game i would play Rust. This is a PvE focused game, always was, always will be. If people would think that PvP is the better experience than bandits, the PvP numbers would be higher than jsut 1% of the playerbase,
Shades of FO76. The PvP crowd is very loud there, too. Never mind Beth knew the community had been asking for a Fallout single player w/co-op for years and never asked for the "live service" game foisted on BGS by Zenimax. Execs are so out of touch they "were a little surprised how few people wanted to take part in PvP and how many more were interested in PvE together." Seriously, execs? How out of touch can you be? Of course, the vast majority play with pacifist mode on and some won't even take over workshops because they don't want to deal with the ***holes who have nothing better to do than troll them.

In fairness to the PvPers here, the market for that does appear to have shrunk to a few survival games when FFA used to be a popular online mode for SPs along with CTF, Duel, etc. I feel for ya considering actual RPGs are so rare anymore. "The market" is nuts.

@InfiniteWarrior Well, this isn´t the game for PvP though. The most similar one would be Rust i guess which is all about PvP. There is also SCUM and Conan Exiles. Valheim technically has PvP too, but i think there is even less people than here actually doing it.

Luckily i am from europe, PvP in FO76 is basically non existent here. I have 2000 something hours and i got attacked once at a workshop and i always had at least one workshop running. I heard a lot from NA people that PvP players are toxic though and that claiming a workshop will more often then not, result in a PvP battle.

@InfiniteWarrior Yeah, sure. But there seems to be a difference between Europe and NA when it comes to games like FO76 where PvP is just a part of the game play, like i said only got attacked once in a workshop, that is my whole PvP experience in 2000+ hours. NA players seem to be more into PvP in those cases. It´s the same with 7 days, when it´s evening here, you will find even less PvP players than when it´s evening in NA.

"PvP"? Are you talking of a specific subset here? For all I can tell, PvP games, from Fall Guys to Marvel Rivals seem to do fine for themselves?
The market for it has shrunk. Obviously not just to the few survival games pApA^LeGBa mentioned, but it has shrunk.

Don't really keep up with PvP games or games that support PvP. I have kept up with the popularity of PvE and pacifist runs of various violent video games, though.

I haven't seen it and I'm in NA. I see it as a trend toward players preferring to be friendly to one another and/or take an interest in peoples and cultures other than their own than going all gung-ho trying to virtually kill one another. Could be wrong. Someone should do a study. :)
