[Album] My first base (i'm on base #4 now) brought to you in Ultra graphics
So, about 9 weeks ago, when I first got back in to the game since like 2016, I created a base with a friend. Here's a short album of a few features and shots of the base, it felt like a waste of time since it's long gone now and we have improved a ton, so here it is. Some facts: Walls are 3 deep underground and 8 high above ground Walls are 3 blocks thick Everything is painted reinforced concrete Switch to the drawbridge is in that hatch at the entrance Pizza oven campfires Rat-run to hide electrics Eco-friendly roofs Sexy
I recently fell down the 7 Days rabbit hole and decided to do a horde series as I learn to play the game.  Hailing from the Quiet Apocalypse and jolly-ignorant to dirty ways of 7 Days, it was a jagged learning curve and a heck of a good time.  By Horde 70 and thanks to feedback along the way, I can hold my own in the Dirty Apocalypse.  Playing the most recent build (18.4) and with the Compo42 prefab pack. I'm planning to do a Dead-is-Dead run next but might wait for A19 unless I can't.
Base design, day 57.
I've seen a lot of bases with long mazes of blade traps and huge amounts space involved. But I've had almost zero issues with a short 5-6 block long corridor using two sets of electric fence posts, and then a couple dart traps that I can use if I can't keep up. I probably use my bow 40% of the time, a hunting rifle 40% of the time, and then a mix of melee if its slow, or ak47/smg if things get tougher. And a few molotovs here and there. I just got done with the day 56 horde night, and I probably used about 150 7.76 rounds total. Is there a point in time when this design isn't going to work?
In this video our hero stumbled across a small farm/town. Unbeknownst to him, something horrifying lurked below. Bob's prized green boar, in his underground lair, was silently devising a plan. After falling down a hole and landing on some mattresses, would Greenie notice the man with the cowboy boots, or would he make his escape before it was too late?
I would like to share my elevator design in A18, no mods + floor selector Basically it is still the good old hatch elevator, but I made some changes so it could work in A18 - elevator system still working as it used to, but the initial push with bottom hatch doesn't. So instead I used powered garage doors 5x3, they basically push you inside shaft. After some tweaks (see prefab/video) it works perfect. As for floors selection, each floor has powered hatch and corresponding trigger plate on the first floor - when it is triggered, hatch opens (e.g. for 15 sec), so when you use elevator, you stop at that particular floor. You can also use multiple sensors instead of plates in some cases.  I attached elevator shaft as a prefab, here...
Japanese Pagoda Castle base
I wanted to share my base build which is inspired by Japanese Pagoda style castles/temples.  I had built a smaller watchtower as a horde night hold-out, and after putting a flattened roof on it I was reminded of this unique architectural style.  This was built entirely in game in survival mode, and I had a lot of fun diving into the paint textures and shape options.  The colors are a bit washed out due to the biome and weather the day I took the screen shots, but the blue roofing and black marble accents really pop nicely in game.  Let me know what you think!
9x9 Tower Horde Base Tutorial (For Beginners)
Disclaimer: Most of the credit to this design goes to madmole. So you're new to 7 Days to Die and you want to know how to fight off the first blood moon hordes. While there are many ways to go about this, one of the simplest and cheapest structures a new player could erect is the humble 9x9 tower. Take a chair and have a seat follower, I'll show you the tricks up my sleeve. You're going to want to start off by digging a 9x9x1 square pit into the ground with your shovel. It should look like this: https://imgur.com/oVTGIOQ Now wipe the sweat off your brow and put away that spade. It's building time. Fill in the 9x9 hole with flagstone, and upgrade the two outer layers with cobblestone rocks to cobblestone. You'll see why in a minute...
Flooded Mega City
8k map by Nitrogen Using the Compopack 43 prefab pack https://www.dropbox.com/s/v6ididvx1ueswwt/COMPOPACK_43(for Alpha18.3_built3).7z?dl=0 Within a day I will be editing this and posting a link to  the generated world for downloading if there is interest.     Nice view from the top of one of compopack's prefab ( radio towers? ). The water is flooding one side while the other  remains dry.         What appears to be flat solid water is actually blocks, walls and columns of water. You can swim to the top of the buildings.             Under Water looting.     Standing on top of a submerged building.     Notice you can fall out of the water and land on the street below and break you...
In our next of 7 Days to Die Episode: Bacon and Bullets, We need a workbench and a forge but to get them we need glue and/or duct tape or a cooking pot. So the great search begins at the army camp, then dump a lung, ruined building 1,2,3, red barn, cement factory and more. This was the longest search ever for a cooking pot or glue or some duct tape. There will lots of bullets and even more bacon, eventually :) Thanks everyone for watching it really means a lot to me.
