edit: I went into preview and it autoposted it 3 times. can't delete the other 2 posts inspired by this post I figured while waiting for 19 I could post some screenshots of my old design.  a kill corridor which could be used as either shooting range or afk automated kill tunnel. features: 104 dart traps (left, right, up & down) electric fences auto turrets trip wire + camera sensors to save power a lot of stairs and ladders a tiny bit of wedge tip cheese (but nobody ever made it to that) everything could be switched off/on I got the skill that gives 50% experience from electric trap kills. All dart traps were connected to trip wire. Auto turrets and electric fence were visually triggered by camera sensors...
So I had to bright idea of bumping up the difficulty and maxing out the zombies for hordes and ■■■■ near got my @%$*#! handed to me on night 56.  So I re-tooled my base design and built a murder box onto one of the sides in the hopes of funneling the horde in the direction.  This is my first real attempt at such a design, so I have no clue how well it will work.  Of course you know they probably won't cooperate, but we'll see how it works out.  Just like the night 56 horde, I'm going to record and post it.  Wish me luck. Here's what my base looks like as of now: The murder box is on the left.  The Western side of the base. This is my view from the kill zone.  Two auto shotgun turrets stand at the ready by the entrance ramp.  I'll...
Hi guys! I'm a gamebloger from Russia, and my English not good, but I want to show you my crazy work. Everybody here have watched a screenshots by Joel with new zombie models and new lighting on new POIs, right? It looks great in Alpha 19, but how it looks in Alpha 18? I have intrested. So I recreated a locations from dev's screenshots in A18, and now you can compare two versions of the game :) First half of video devoted to a zombie models, and after 4 minutes goes screenshots from two Alphas. Sorry, but no subtitles. Thanks for your attention, and enjoy!
[Album] My first base (i'm on base #4 now) brought to you in Ultra graphics
So, about 9 weeks ago, when I first got back in to the game since like 2016, I created a base with a friend. Here's a short album of a few features and shots of the base, it felt like a waste of time since it's long gone now and we have improved a ton, so here it is. Some facts: Walls are 3 deep underground and 8 high above ground Walls are 3 blocks thick Everything is painted reinforced concrete Switch to the drawbridge is in that hatch at the entrance Pizza oven campfires Rat-run to hide electrics Eco-friendly roofs Sexy
I recently fell down the 7 Days rabbit hole and decided to do a horde series as I learn to play the game.  Hailing from the Quiet Apocalypse and jolly-ignorant to dirty ways of 7 Days, it was a jagged learning curve and a heck of a good time.  By Horde 70 and thanks to feedback along the way, I can hold my own in the Dirty Apocalypse.  Playing the most recent build (18.4) and with the Compo42 prefab pack. I'm planning to do a Dead-is-Dead run next but might wait for A19 unless I can't.
I've seen a lot of bases with long mazes of blade traps and huge amounts space involved. But I've had almost zero issues with a short 5-6 block long corridor using two sets of electric fence posts, and then a couple dart traps that I can use if I can't keep up. I probably use my bow 40% of the time, a hunting rifle 40% of the time, and then a mix of melee if its slow, or ak47/smg if things get tougher. And a few molotovs here and there. I just got done with the day 56 horde night, and I probably used about 150 7.76 rounds total. Is there a point in time when this design isn't going to work?
