PC V2.0 Storms Brewing Dev Diary

The ammo drop balance really needs to be looked at. Finding AP and HP ammo a bit more often is nice, but it's almost to the point of never finding normal rounds. I'd say even at higher stages it should be like 50/50 on what you get between normal and AP/HP.

Or hell, always throw in normal ammo with the AP and HP. Like, give normal a 100% chance to appear with special ammo.

It would be nice to remove steel and steel parts from the loot for the forest and burnt forest. (let there be a small chance for the desert) With a high probability in the winter biome and wasteland. I would like parts of iron weapons not to drop in the forest (let the chance increase with the burnt forest) This is all funny, considering that biome progression is enabled and the loot is set to 25%

A similar complaint I've heard a lot right after v2.0 is that normal shotgun shells get completely replaced in high tier loot by slugs, since the slugs are "AP" versions. Buckshot is relevant all game, so getting that to drop would be great.

To the ammo topic, I agree with all points. I love that we are finding more advanced ammo in loot, but it is a little ridiculous how much. It's also funny that looting regular ammo appears to be capped at loot stage 68. So much in this game is governed by LS and I think a different approach might be to have advanced ammo found in just POI end-loot containers and infested caches. The amount might be a range that increases dependent on the tier of the POI. All other ammo piles as well as yellow/blue loot bags could continue to drop regular ammo (with a small chance for the advanced types) regardless of LS. Maybe the red bags can have a higher chance to drop the advanced stuff.

Although the last game i played on 2.0, i had set up a shotgun turret, as a meh lets see how it does for my hoardbase, nad it took quite a number of shots to take out a radiated arlene. I'm not too sure how good they are at higher tiers. I'd love to see shotgun turrets and smg turrets be able to take higher tier ammo.

Do you think they'll balance all these basic things before 4.0 or a little after?🤔
I am sure there will be plenty of balance patches as it goes into later ant later versions of the game. I also think that there will be other balance patches after the final game is released, just because there are so many games that do just that.

For the love of everything 7days Add more weapons and Paint selections before more of this DLC...

So sure, they could add a flame thrower for example, but that would probably be bad simply because of the necessary voluminous screen effects decreasing FPS. They could add some more melee weapons, at least there are visually very distinct melee weapons out there. But again, what should such melee weapons do differently to make a game play difference, not just give some weapon fanatic wet dreams?
Back in 1.0, we really enjoyed the threat that 0-SCore mod combined with a part of the Aussie Mod that allowed wood blocks to catch fire. Triggering mines, cop spit, someone being stupid with a molotov, it added to the care you needed to take, or the speed you needed to loot and get the hell out. Would be double vicious if at storm time, would have to try and mitigate.
