But I mean in the future could we get generic clothing? As apart of the wardrobe systemThere are 4 clothing slots, but they do not change how you look.
I kid you not, taking initiative about this system in your hands can be your first modding experiment. If you can make new armour pieces, that would be just Light armour clothes with some makeshift armour atop flannel shirts, jackets and jeans, than anything simpler will be an easy peasy for you.But I mean in the future could we get generic clothing? Both. 4 clothing slots each with heat/cold stats and insulation mods for armor.By "clothing slots" do you mean that there will be dedicated slots for these clothing items, presumably one per armor piece? (Similar to how the badges work now?)
As opposed to weather-related armor mods, like we used to have, which take up one mod slot.
I'm not opposed to either one, as long as we get at least one.Just curious which it's going to be.
I was thinking about that. I learned what program I can use and ima do that.I kid you not, taking initiative about this system in your hands can be your first modding experiment. They have stats to change when temperature effects kick in, but they still kick in when exceeded.By default, are they meant to completely nullify temperature, or allow
more of an extended time when not enclosed?
We give approximations because there are no dates as we are releasing it as soon as ready. Merging was more of a mess than normal as typical big releases are just pushing trunk out the door. This time it was move hundreds of changes to v2, but not work in progress change like bandits.Faatal didn't say early December. He said December, earlier rather than later. That is not the same thing. Early December might suggest the first week, but earlier rather than later would apply to anything before the middle of December. Also, faatal just made an estimate based on his own beliefs. It wasn't any official date and he may not know what other devs still need to do before the experimental is ready, so his guess may not be accurate. Even so, he did say they are in the process of merging all the stuff together, which means it will be fairly soon... likely this week.
thanks for the update, and clarification what the setbacks are.We have to test everything now and try to find anything else broken.
Since the date is unknown can we know if it will require a wipe to update to 2.5 from the current version? The merging is mostly done, but we had some merge problems. Like Chunk and the Rancher threw errors when spawning because meta files for their folders were missing from trunk, so did not merge over. A few other files were missing as well. We have to test everything now and try to find anything else broken. I am also evaluating possible quest giving bugs from changes made to improve quest choices.

We are testing older saves and it all seems backwards compatible.Since the date is unknown can we know if it will require a wipe to update to 2.5 from the current version? Thanks
They use AI for some things, though we don't know how much. But AI isn't really in a state where it can do things for you. You say to have it check for something specific, but there are a LOT of things to look for and telling it to check for all of those one by one isn't really any faster than doing it yourself. For that matter, just opening the game showed them the errors without having to do anything else. You can bet that it is faster for them to find the problems themselves rather than trying to teach AI what to look for and hoping it finds things.I'm no programmer, but since code is text... can't AI help to check for inconsistencies?
Of course it must be properly instructed on what to search, but I figure you can ask something like: "Search in the migrated code for any missing links to Quest n.123" or "Search for missing asset references to Chuck and Rancher".
Would that be possible to do?![]()
To add to faatal's response, if you are on PC, I would strongly recommend making a manual backup just in case something goes wrong. And don't forget that if you are using mods, there is a good chance some or all of them will break and need to be updated before you can play your current save on the new version.Since the date is unknown can we know if it will require a wipe to update to 2.5 from the current version? We thank you @faatal for your messages and estimates. It's news about our favorite game so we appreciate whatever you can tell us (and I'm sure everyone thinks the same way I do).We give approximations because there are no dates as we are releasing it as soon as ready. If I had a drink for every time there was a road improvement I would be deadWe are testing older saves and it all seems backwards compatible.
From a game play perspective, players may want to restart simply for how progression feels different now.
Even RWG has many road improvements, tile selection improvements and a tighter map boarder which would need a new map to experience.
I think these were added in like 2.1 or something aka long before ai art became a real thing so I dont know what your on aboutwe do know they used AI for alot of the newer graphic assests

I'm sure you mean something else as 2.1 was released 5 months ago. I guess you meant Alpha 21?I think these were added in like 2.1 or something aka long before ai art became a real thing so I dont know what your on about
Well, I use a little bit Claude AI (professional version) and it can quite reliably check for inconsistencies in legal documents and contracts, or unfair clauses for what matters. So, I don't see how checking code for inconsistencies must be that much different. But AI isn't really in a state where it can do things for you.
to even think 2.5 wouldnt require a wipe would be hard to believe.
2.5 is a major update not minor
