PS5 player here. Some friends of mine have set up a dedicated server on PC. Is there any way to connect to it? They have enabled crossplay, but I’ve tried searching by name and Steam name with no luck. Is this even possible?

Console: Set the option General>Crossplay Enabled: On
PC: Set the option General>Crossplay Enabled: On, but it also requires EAC Protected set to On
Maximum supported player count for crossplay is 8 and world size of 8192.

UPDATE:

Never mind, I guess connecting to dedicated servers for crossplay isn't available yet for console players.

That's right, only peer to peer Cross-play right now. Dedicated servers coming in Q1 2025 with the 2.0 Update.

  • A biome zombie type spawner could have a permanently disabled timer if they aged out before a player ever killed one (old data is removed and they will start spawning again)

The above fix has not worked. I'm on a new save at day 30 and my explored area of the world is empty. No wilderness zombies anywhere. This is 10 days after I killed the last zombie spawns. Something else is preventing respawns. This is on XBOX.

i've only just now got a helmet mod in B27 plus i'm still using the "7D2D World Lighting Tuned (v1.0 b333)" mod;   now's a good as time as any to stop the game, remove the lighting mod and can then see what the new lighting is all about
forgot to come back with my findings; played quite a lot of B27 since i removed the "7D2D World Lighting Tuned (v1.0 b333)" mod, and for once i pretty much stopped using the helmet mod, just to see what indoor lighting changes i could discern; (i normally keep the helmet mod virtually always switched on in the daytime, even outside purely as it's never too bright for me to notice i have it on) ; so my results are that i can't tell any difference to new lighting.. but that's ok with me as i can at least say i've not noticed any negative effects.      So i will keep playing without the 'lighting tuned' mod for now, then at some point i might add it back - again as it's never given me any negative results either

Playing some more and this time paying more attention to lighting at night (tricky as i'm in the Desert and keep being attacked by millions of rad zombies so can't concentrate too much; anyway, nighttime still to bright so i reinstated the "7D2D World Lighting Tuned (v1.0 b333)" mod ; this is fine for me, others probasbly prefer to adjust the new game brightness setting

What did you set the game brightness to in order to determine if it was still too bright?  I have not yet set it below 50% to see how it looks, so not sure how it compares yet.

Actually i hadn't checked before, i did just now and it's 50% so must be default; my eyes (and memory) aren't sharp enough anymore to really tell if the new lighting in 1.2 is now better than before or not; if the devs say so then i believe them 😁; some of you here will be better qualified than me to properly comment on the brightness, i just (still) love the tuned mod personally

50% is now the default and the 'make interiors darker at night' effects don't kick in unless you change brightness to lower than 50%.

Try a lower brightness setting and you may find you don't need the mod anymore.

Yeah, as Uncle Al said, the new brightness stuff is only if you lower brightness below 50%.  Otherwise, it is the same as before.

I made a more detailed bug report with a video of the bug.

@faatal

Would the merging of the player's cameras have any effect on melee reach? I can swear it was easier to reach zombies with the hunting knife when standing on two blocks. I would test it with a previous version of the game but I unfortunately won't be able to until the 2nd week of Jan.

Weird problem.

I got a new Monitor, and now when I play 7DTD it disconnects my internet.

I've tried it with the Network workaround setting both on and off, and it does it on both settings.

Previous Monitor was connected via HDMI, the new one is via Display Port.

This is the only thing that's changed - really strange.

Anyone else have issues like this ?

Unbelievable   .   .   .

Monitor change was just coincidental.

Also coincidentally, the Epic (EOS) Servers where having problems - this is what pulled down my internet (perceived DDOS attack ?).

I tried another Unity game that has online / offline mode and had no issues.

Once the Epic Server issues resolved, my internet was fine while playing 7DTD.

This is concerning.

This is the second time I've had issues and the root cause is EOS.

I play in offline line mode and have other things going on with the internet while I'm playing.

To be at the mercy of some other service while playing offline is a pretty bad design choice

Offline is offline - it shouldn't be contacting any online services - this is a bit underhanded / unethical.

Really expected better.

I noticed shooting the No-No button on a dead Demolisher no longer causes it to explode, though the light does still change from yellow to red. Is this intended behavior? If not I'll file a bug report.
