I noticed shooting the No-No button on a dead Demolisher no longer causes it to explode, though the light does still change from yellow to red. Is this intended behavior? If not I'll file a bug report.
The last time I shot one and it didn't die first, it exploded.  Might have been a bug or maybe you have a mod that is conflicting with it.  Maybe check your log to see if you had any warnings or errors.

Not sure, i remember a couple of Demo's exploding, but i thought i saw one that just died - but i might be wrong as it was a horde night so it was surrounded by 37,000 radiated zombies and 2 of us were chucking molotov's as well as shooting everything; i'll keep an eye open from now on; (in my own latest single player game i'm on day 53 or so and haven't had any Demo's so will check next horde night)

I'm talking about shooting one's button AFTER it's already dead. Not using any mods.

I bought the game on ps5 and can’t turn on crossplay. In the general settings it me telling me “crossplay is temporarily disabled on this platform.” I reached out on redit and nobody else seems to have this issue as of right now. What do I do?

AFAIK it only works Peer to Peer right now, where you have to know the other computers IP address.

I may be wrong though, since it's something I've read some time ago on this forum.  :ohwell:

Don't know if this is a bug or what so I didn't make a post about it but has anyone else noticed that the blood moon horde spawns are capped at 30 zombies now in v1.2? Even setting it to 64 max alive zombies doesn't do anything. A maxed out day 7000 horde still spawns only 30 zombies and in the serverconfig the max alive is also 64. I couldn't find anything in the gamestage xml because even it has the max alive go above 30. Is this intentional? I mean I guess I get better performance with only 30 zombies but it's pretty lame since I'm only getting half the horde I wanted.

I also noticed that my gamestage is higher than it’s supposed to be which I think is because of this change and maybe wherever this is in the xml’s has something to do with the hordes being capped:

I think @faatal explained this already if you care to try finding his post about it.

P.S.: Here's what Faatal said:

"Bloodmoon parties (which is now players within 80m of any other player added to the party) now cap the amount of enemies spawned at one time to 30 (subject to change) to improve FPS. An 8 player group with the default setting of 8 per player, would have gotten 64 active enemies. To compensate for less enemies, the game stage increases based on the ratio. The game has global enemy caps and game stage maxAlive caps, but this helps with the specific case of FPS tanking during blood moons for a BM party."

Heh I just typed my thoughts or rather, frustrations with him. Thank you though. I wouldn’t have been exactly sure about what was going on with that 30 zombie cap plus gamestage boost without you directing me to his comments. Now here’s to hoping for them to revert that sh**

Must be a recent change - used to be you could make them explode after killing them if you shot the button on a dead one.

I do yes, had it happen prior to 1.0.
I don't think I've ever seen that happen and I started in A20.5, so if it was changed it would have been before then.  Unless I've just been extremely unlucky (or lucky, depending on point of view) to not have that happen.

Yeah, I don't think it's a great decision.  It's one thing to provide additional options for people who have difficulty with FPS during horde night.  It's something else entirely to remove the options available for those who don't have any problems.  It doesn't matter if the overall difficulty is technically the same.  People want to kill zombies.  If they want a ton of zombies, having fewer zombies that are harder is not going to be the same thing at all.

I agree with you. It should be up to us to choose how many zombies we want.

If someone has 64 zombies and complains about low FPS... Well, lower the number of zombies dude!

It was done mainly for consoles I'm sure. TFP wants the same features (as much as possible) on all platforms.

Really doesn't ring a bell and for as long as I can remember, they wouldn't explode either if you triggered the button and then kill them. (Saved me a bunch of times.)

However, you could always try to go to an older version and test. I'd be interested to know what you find out.

But maybe it was like an experimental patch at some point?

Yeah, but they have a map size cap on consoles that PC doesn't have and a save number limit that PC doesn't have. They surely could do a fixed cap on console and still allow PC gamers to adjust even if that adjustment can only be done with xml edits. faatal said "(subject to change)" so there is hope that they will be able to find a way to hardcode the limit for console but allow PC gamers to change it either by mod or by setting option.

There should be a warning message when changing the zombies setting on hordes night:

Changing this setting might result in lower fps.

@faatal

Can we please have the option to have more than 30 zombies on horde night? With 2 of us we didn't have trouble with 64, away from our base and city. We spend off and on horde nights out in the open when we're not ready or our gamestage has exceeded our base setup (no turrets spikes or low ammo) and didn't lag with 64 alive.

I'm not saying our fps wasn't low (or lower than normal) but it was still well above playable/responsive. Now our fps is higher but it feels boring.

We like to feel overrun out there and I don't appreciate having low end user's (including console) fixes pushed to us when we didn't have the problem they did.

There's more zombies around outside vs horde night it doesn't look right.

Leave us options please!!

  • Improved active sleeper despawning rules to allow more distance and time

What were these values before? And where can they be found?
(This change has massive negative effects on my mod)
