The fun pimps are holding a 2.0 town hall discussion. Try to attend it.

Perhaps, but without a method for evaluating what the majority opinion is, that would not be feasible. Is there a way to evaluate that in place other than to read lots of forum/Steam/Reddit/YouTube comments?
Even that wouldn't give you the majority. Just the opinions of the 3% of the players who go to the forums to post, and 3/4 of those only do it because they are mad.

Very true. I'm not aware of a good way to express the thoughts of the majority. Unless there's some metrics being collected I don't know about, that would seem to be the only possible option available today.

@zztong Polls are a thing. They are on many platforms and can reach a lot of people, if they for once learn to post things everywhere and not just on twitter.

They can reach a ton of people, if they want to. And they need a community manager. Now,

E: There is also the ingame news. Easy way to reach everyone who plays. Make it a bit more prominent so people actually see it and have a link to the poll or just a topic where people can post suggestions. There is ways if you really want to reach everyone. Right now it´s not done very well, people see the hat and assume it´s just about the drop and discussing this on a live stream isn´t optimal to get peoples opinion.

Agreed, sure, but it wouldn't be in place such that the information would be available in tomorrow's Town Hall.

But if the Town Hall leads to the Devs saying something like, "we'll work to gather community feedback on features and then come back" then all possible methods to collect data would be available.

@zztong Les sondages existent.

I'm sorry, but this part of your statement doesn't make any sense.

Also it isn't dying. Player counts haven't dropped significantly. They just didn't get the gains for a major update that they usually would.
Makes perfect sense. I think storms were a last minute decision and poorly planned. Complain about it? People say just turn it off....so you want me to turn off the only other major piece of content this game got in 2.0. Also the badges super stupid. I can't have friends join mid game because they will need a pokemon badge to get where im based at. So beyond some loot changes, hilariously op skill reworks, a few new zombies which is pretty much a staple of major game updates. We got pokemon badges, slightly buffed zombies, and a storm feature I can turn off cause it offers nothing...the icing on the cake is that it was 7 months overdue and they implemented cosmetic dlc. Both A21, and 1.0 preformed better then 2.0 did. But hey you want to glaze some devs who couldn't get audio right in front 5k-10k on stream be my guest.

What is your solution to the storms? Nerf, make storms a walk in the park, some changes were suggested some time ago and they are supposed to be working on it.

What is this talk of polls and collecting the thoughts of the majority? The majority of what? Those who show up to the Twitch event?

TFP has already absorbed the negative feedback, which is what led to this impromptu and unprecedented Town Hall thingy.

The post mentions announcing the changes they have already planned, no mention of spending two hours inquiring about our feelings.

TFP is having an "Oh, ■■■■" moment, maybe for the first time ever. This event is for stomping out the fires of discontent before they get out of control.

It is an attempt to at least appear conciliatory. How genuine and how effective this is will be determined by their tone and attitude.

@templum12 No last minute descision involved, the update was called Storm´s brewing since the released the roapmap shortly before V1.
Guys...he is right. Go back thru the forums. The delay was caused by them having to add storms to Storm's Brewing.

Good that all the bad reviews made them finally admit mistake, but theres no way Im getting up in the middle of the night to be there for it. Theyre not taking any notes from the forums so I guess good luck to the VIP few who get to be there to seemingly represent me.
do you have any specific questions? good chance what you want to know is something "we" want to know.

That is caused delay does not, by any means, make it a last minute decision to add them. They were announced pre 1.0 for this release. That cannot be, per definition a "last minute decision".

They did say they "wanted to chat about some of the change we plan to make to address it", so at face value it seems like they are listening.

I still don't see how they can restore the temperature system without clothing unless they plan to just add weather deterrent mods to take up valuable armor mod slots. Or worse, give different armors different temp stats.
Everyone acts like slots in games can't have tabs or be re-designed. We either have armor or clothing. We either have mods or part quality. You know you CAN have both right? Just because they would have to adjust the UI doesn't mean it can't happen.

Every other game has ways of receiving feedback and using that to inform them of general direction trends. There was a lot of dislike for the way ages ended in Civ VII. People had a lot of ideas. At the end of the day the developers looked at the problem and came up with their own solutions, but they at least understood the problem.

This isn't something unique to this game and it can be done.

sure...they told us about the biome gating and no storms
the community calmly reminded them there are supposed to be storms in storm's brewing.... then it got delayed to add the storms.
sorry...that is the way it went down.

No, just that it was super rushed. I was updating my roadmap image to strike out the weather update because it was getting close to release, and there was no sign of any weather being added.

But then shortly after I made this, they added the storms so I never published it. I made this image on March 21st, and then the edit I published was on March 25th.

This makes more sense. The way you stated it, the intention was not clear at all. And to be perfectly honest, the whole biome progression and storms were a very small portion of the 2.0 update.

Yes, super rushed and badly planned. Not a last minute decision to add it. The release carries the title, so it was not a last minute decision to add storms. That's all i'm saying.
