Subquake's Undead Legacy

I really liked the lack of a map, compass and clock at the beginning of the AL mod. I would like to see something similar in UL. Maybe as an setting option?

Good afternoon. Tell me, what is the percentage of readiness of the mod? I am writing from a translator. Thank you for your hard work.

Bits of feedback:

- I hate how hard it is to get motorcycle engine, there are very few motorcycles around compared to cars. Make the engine drop more often out of motorcycles?

- Upgrading tables uses too much resources, variety of needed items is fine though. I think research data cost is already enough of a grind for the upgrade.

- Airdrops are borderline useless, always a disappointment, could use a bit more items. Maybe have opening the airdrop alarm the zombies, spawn the horde or something to balance it out for increased loot?

- Late base building is too grind-y, could use some tweaking to respect people's time a bit more. Perhaps an upgraded table that lets you produce items cheaper?

- Something isn't right with tools attack speed, feels like starting stone axe is the best tool up until very late game.

- Seeds are too cheap at the traders.

- I guess its 7dtd general issue, POIs no longer feel specialized, you get about the same loot in every one with little variety, making looting them feel about the same. Seeing hardware store or gun store used to be great back in the day but nowadays its not that much different from any random suburban home in terms on loot. Maybe introduce unique store specific crates just like there is high security crate for military stuff, but for working stuff and other stores so they only spawn in appropriate POI?

- "Few" towns generator setting is still too much towns for me, I'd love to have even smaller option, smaller side towns.

- Motorcycle is like the most desirable thing early on. Its spawn rate is fine if you know where to look for it (mostly garage POI's). You can either do garage t1-t3 pois whenever you see them, or just follow the road for some time... You can buy it from shops too.

- tech upgrades are quite expensive indeed, but I feel like last tiers are unnecessary so it's just something to dump resources into. Why not?

- About airdrops - just customize airdrops loottable within loot.xml to your liking? Though making it a few minutes lasting gauntlet event would've been nice for both pve and pvp.

- "Late game base" is subjective. You can create efficient bases for blood moon farming, and something obnoxious for raders if necessary. Nothing of that requires huge amounts of grind already. And besides, you can always just hide loot. It doesn't work against cheaters, but I have yet to loose one hidden box to players.

- About stone axe - I kinda disagree. Any other axe (may be except for battle axe) is worth switching to from stone. If you can afford the repairs. But iron specifically is kinda meh. I usually skip from scrap to steel since scrap is abundant and iron is better left for other gear early on.

- Why make seeds expensive anyway? Are they strong or something? I usually just eat meat since it's abundant within farm POIs.

- Specialized pois sound nice, but it would limit POIs that everyone wants live near/quest regularly dramatically. Game already has many POIs that are just better. I this idea is better left for a separate mod.

- You can just use world editor to erase cities.

Can anyone tell me if this mod is dead? Hasn't been updated in roughly 2 years.

If you read up a page or two, go on the Undead Legacy discord, or follow the dev's twitter / X, you will see there is no way in hell this mod is dead. Just delayed.

Be prepared to be amazed :)

EDIT: It is supposed to still come out in 2024, later this year, but Subquake has not said for definite.

With all due respect, I don't think there was any significant progress made with UL mod so far. All those updates were just crumbles without any actual porting work logged. It could be the case Subquake is just trying to hold on his subs with those minor posts on X / patreon. Here are some facts:

* The last update on X was 80 days ago.

* The last actual functionality update was on March 18th, 2023: 573 days ago. I am sorry, but replacing textures of knuckles or firefighter zombies don't qualify as high priority work, more like "give them anything" content. Fire torch trap post did not state anything regarding whether or not it will be added to the next version of mod. So it could be just a cool demo only.

I know life happens, priorities shift. That is absolutely normal.

The only unfair thing here is he is giving his fans hope pretending the mod work is still in progress.
