Do dropped features mean dropped forever or just dropped for A17 and will potentially come out in a future Alpha / Beta release?
Besides that this depends on the feature

i guess they dont know it by themself. If they allready worked on a feature they like the idea basically but something went different as expected. So if there is again a change that change that again i see nothing that speaks against a revive.

 
Got a nice feature working today:AI Break Block does targeted block hits based on improved obstacle check.

Now it is a 3 block high check. AIs go after middle, then weakest of low/high. Favors the low, since if they destroyed med/high, they would have to jump.

From @Faatal's message it seems like most of AI Work is done, new town is ready, new vehicle is ready. So what are we waiting for? Why A17 is not released yet ... so hyped man. I see it is going to be ready in next 1-2 months quite easily now.

 
It seems to me that Alpha 17 will not be until 2019. :-( :-( :-(

AI with a blocked path will target specific weakest wall blocks to destroy them and make a hole they fit through.

Well, I could give you a release date for A17, accurate to within 1% of the age of the universe.
lol. I don't think anyone is interested in a date that is estimated to be in a million years but thanks anyway. ;)

 
On the raft/boat issue ("Professional" modder feedback needed). With the way water is now, could you import into the game a boat vehicle by overlaying the minibike (or new vehicle coming in A17) with a boat, and adjusting the xml for water or the "boat" to drive on top of the water blocks? It would probably look really goofy, but could it be done? Like when you add a new gun skin you just set it over an existing model. Maybe you could just import the new model by itself? I imagine this may create the issue of all vehicles/entities being able to drive/walk on the water, but if you could make it so only the one vehicle/boat can do it that would be pretty neat.
To answer your question, it's not as though there's a "floats" flag you just set to true in the xml. If it's possible (and I recall a video that suggests it is), it's a matter of rolling your own code to do it, via SDX I imagine.

Is there any chance that we can get some of the localization text to push from the server? If not a17, then maybe in beta or gold? I have been trying to make some quest notes with custom quests for my server. They work great locally for my single player game, and they "technically" work on the server. You can get the quest note, activate it, and get the quest objectives, but you don't actually get to read what the note is supposed to say or see the descriptions of the objectives.
Hmm. I don't know, but I would say this seems doubly important given A17's focus on more robust quests.

Some assets are finalized others aren't it's how these things go, there are only so many hours in a day and only so many people to work on these assets and they are working as hard as is reasonable so they don't burn out.

Even after all assets are finalized they still have to fit it all together like a big puzzle, everything has a place but sometimes even though you know what it is supposed to look like you are going to struggle to put it all together, it all takes time.

They are close to finishing up, so get hyped because it's coming soon, really soon, I am still maintaining my guidance of a mid May release for experiemental.

I have a question regarding the upcoming 'wellness/HP/stamina'-system. I understand how wellness is being replaced by a system where the amount of food in your body determines max stamina, and that your level of thirst determines the HP/stamina recovery rate. However, I haven't been able to figure out what will happen to the wellness-penalty-upon-death? Is there still a penalty being applied somewhere when you die? Or is this system completely removed?

That is a good question. I hope there still is some kind of penalty for death.

Edit:

I think the Wellness gain still exists, how else are we supposed to raise max stamina and health above 100. if that is true then the old penalty system could still be in place.

Its done when its done means that it cant be released earlyer because it would not be the same quality

Sure i would like it too to have Vanilla version 1.2 with all 3 Dlc or even better the successor on my SSD to play.

But thats not the reality. So do the best, spend hours by searching other playable games on steam and spend your time with them.

After a few hundret hours in "Empyrion, The Long Dark, Fallout 4, Fallout Vegas, X Rebirth, Homefront, Borderlands1+2+3, ..." you come back and can enjoy A17. And the best is after that painfull playing and crashing other games you are really grateful that the fun pimps do it as they do it.

 
I'd honestly love a fo4 settlement system in 7dtd, would give the player something to do once established, as providing for a small village is much harder than just for yourself.
You can simulate that already perfectly:

1) Just throw away 20 meat stew and 60 glasses of water every week.

2) If you don't have that much, next week you only need to throw away 19 meat stew and 57 glasses of water.

3) If you have enough to do that and are below 20 meat stew, next week add one meat stew and 3 water again

4) Throw away 100 blocks of wood, cobblestone or cement plus 50 iron*(week number) and the same amount of ammunition each week. If not, remove 1 meat stew and 3 glasses of water, as usual. (Bonus: you can also build unused houses with the material if you want to see something for your effort)

Reality check (not necessarily directed at you, Siveria): If anyone thinks TFP can create a complex interesting settlement mini game in about 3-6 months where bethesda with 10 to 20 times the developers somewhat failed (or at least didn't really excel) you are gonna be disappointed.

The best that can happen is that TFP does its homework and puts in and exposes enough mechanisms into XML that modders can try their hands on making settlement mini games.

The obvious effect will be that some people will again not understand that modders just use the mechanisms provided by TFP and ask what useless stuff TFP has been doing in A17. And why was TFP not able to implement what modders seem to have done with their little finger. :smile-new:

So the A17 release date could possibly be within the reach of 100 million years to the past all the way to 100 million years to the future? :) Well that narrows it down a bunch...

 
Hey faatal

I got another question. Your telling me that the zombies will attack weakest block. On many POI's the weakest point are the windows. Really the ones that are not boarded up, like the shop windows.

So if zombies follow the path of least resistance then are they more likely to come through the windows than doors?
