well,,,,, if the problem was related to PC issues they would be on it immediately..... XBOX.... We will get to it when we get to it.....

All we can do is raise more awareness for the issue, sorry to hear about this happening after your surgery mate.
Again, if this was a PC issue, the problem would be solved by now.   This new version of the game is not any different than the original legacy game... Oh, I am sorry, the chickens, vultures and rabbits are spot on though.....

I have no idea how you can tell if the cloud save is okay, but my guess is it’s only over written when you’re actually playing the game, or when you close down the game? This is what I did:

I had deleted my local save files on the Xbox.

Done that so many times with the legacy version, to avoid the MD5 error.

you need to go into the game settings. Scroll to the game, push the button with the 3 lines.

if the game is still active you should see a shutdown option towards the end. I think the second to last is the save settings (my settings are in Dutch, but any other language it probably in the same location)

it worked for me, although first time I tried to deleted the setting there weren’t any settings. There should be, so I restarted my Xbox and then was able to delete them. Then it took 2 tries to get the save from the cloud, got an error the first time but kept trying.

Seems some other people (in one of the Facebook groups) tried View attachment 33029View attachment 33030View attachment 33031t able to get it back though, so I can’t guarantee if it’s a 100 %fix…..
Yep, I remember doing this every 35 minutes on the legacy game.... All we heard was, just hang in there, the new game will come out and everything will be fixed and it will be the greatest ever!  BS!!!  TFP's need to pull their collective heads out of their butts!

XBOX series X, multiplayer game, all Xbox players -- This happened to me for the second time today. The first time was a little over a week ago. Both games were 8K random gen worlds. My Xbox was the host for both games. The first time, we only had 2 players. Three players the second time. Both games reached game day 35 or so. Logged in as usual, asked to accept EULA, accepted, cannot access the "continue game" button. I can view the games in the "manage saves" tab. After the first corruption, one player was coded with an EOS ID instead of their gamer tag on the players tab under the manage saves screen. Both times the game crashed a few days before while riding a vehicle (not sure if that's relevant). After limping along and managing the MD5 error for so long on legacy, and then repurchasing the new version of the game, it would be really lovely to be able to enjoy the game without fear of losing hundreds of hours of progress. If this bug can't be fixed, perhaps provide Xbox users a way to save worlds externally for later access.

Are you able to start a new game or join others games?

Yea i can start a new game! I have no intentions of doing that tho😂. Seems pointless now, I honestly dont even wanna look at the game anymore.
Yea this was my first major world 60 hours in lose everything just seems kinda pointless to even play now killed all motivation and love for the game. AND I CANT EVEN START A NEW WORLD F I WANTED TOO

I have seen bugs in previous alphas on PC that also destroyed saves or made the game unplayable for some people. And guess what, it still did take weeks for a new patch. If you want, you can check that out here in the forum in the Announcements-section with the dates of the release anouncements. And usually this was not with some big holiday inbetween as well.

Not during the holidays they wouldn't. But of course that logic doesn't feed your narrative, so best to just ignore that, huh? What part of holiday break is so difficult for people in this thread to understand?

It started almost a months ago. Don’t be shill
It was reported on a Saturday, with likely one week before their break started, three weeks ago now. A shill? Nah, definitely not a shill. Just not ignorant to how development works. It so far has seemingly been only happening to xbox, and not even all users. Sorry, it might seem like the end of the world to those of you it is affecting, but overall seems like a relatively small amount being affected. They aren't canceling holiday breaks or pulling all devs to fix an issue like that. And just because they haven't came in here and personally apologized for ruining the game for you doesn't mean they aren't aware and working on the issue. But sure, keep being needlessly toxic and repeating the same thing for no reason. Got people in here getting contact info to try and harass TFP like that's normal behavior.

Unfortunately, some guys feel like they HAVE to give their two cents worth, just HAVE to defend the game or the devs no matter what...he's one of them. If they are not a Moderator or Staff feel free to ignore them. Your experience will probably improve.

Personally, I feel like you are right, someone in a dev position needs to say : we see you and are working on it to you guys in this thread.

I also am wondering how much vacation are they suggesting the whole team took off...two weeks? three weeks? why would there not be people working on the game throughout?

Just ask some people you know who have a desk job (not in retail). Chances are that many of those you ask will have taken 3 or 5 days off so they have an uninterrupted 2-3 weeks of holidays. (which is what I did myself, I am currently on holiday in my day job). Even if not, if you have a single day of work between holidays and weekends you waste a lot of time simply going through your emails and answering them or finding out where you left off last time.

This is why usually game companies try to avoid releasing patches directly before a holiday. It is a risky move, great for all players who waited long for such a patch. But if there is a game-stopping bug for some players, it takes a lot longer to fix. And even without the holidays it needs likely days or (especially with console where patches have to be approved) weeks of work until players get a fix. First of all finding the bug, especially difficult if network is involved (many machines involved, timing, ...). Then correcting the bug which could be editing a single line or completely rewriting a complex network stack. Then testing it internally, the more rewriting was necessary the longer it takes to test and fix new bugs introduced with the patch.

If you think this is unusual, look around. Microsoft once made a huge ruckus when google tried to establish a delay of maximal 3 months for serious security(!) related fixes.

I don't think you meant to be insulting, but, that first line does imply that game development isn't peasant work...and most of us must be peasants to not understand THEY get REAL vacations.

TFP released this patch pre christmas, as you implied, most companies don't do that "just in case", but, they did. WHY would I not expect them to have a team still on bug fixes and problem solving over xmas? can they not do a rotating schedule? unwilling to pay holiday overtime? THEY are already months behind on the roadmap...and it just started.

They don't give a @%$# because it's not pc. The Fun pimps LOVE, HOLY @%$# THEY LOVE keeping their console playerbase in the dark. I expect no announcement from the fun pimps. We will all move on and find new games to play and then the fun pimps will wonder why the xbox portion of console died out. And yes I'm aware that this is an issue between Eos and Microsoft. But Fun Pimps could at least say literally anything.

So Fun Pimps can repost @%$# but can't communicate to the people that paid for the game but can't play it. Nice.

Lack of replys with hard info is nothing new. We get tidbits and hope from time to time but 2nd class treatment is nothing new. I'm on Xbox and have not had this issue but I also deleted my world right before last patch due to drone glitch. I hope they fix your issue, I hope I don't lose my drone again and have to restart.  But solid fix dates is like road maps subject to change or no change we will see. If you lose hope I understand unlike some of the PC only players who can't stand any criticism of this game that they don't play and must attack you for a issue they don't have

I assumed you would not be working, i.e. be a teenager, to not know that most workers want to take off bridge days. Sorry, premature conclusion.

I know it depends on workplace whether workers can decide to take days off, but the ideal, that what we must wish for everyone is that workers have the freedom to select their holidays, not the company. In reality this is only possible in big companies (in places where workers are redunant) or where work is able to be shifted to later dates (like software companies), but if it is possible we as customers should not demand from companies to deny workers what should be their right and demand crunch times just so we can play a game a few days faster.

TFP released this patch pre christmas, as you implied, most companies don't do that "just in case", but, they did. I don't know it for sure actually. I only conclude from the relative silence on the forum that all or most of TFPs staff is on vacation, but even if not there were almost no working days left in the previous 2 weeks to make a difference.

Are you really demanding crunch time here? Devs working on weekends is the epitom of crunch time and gaming companies have gotten bad rep for doing this. TFP is a relatively small developer. Its development speed can't be simply fixed by just scaling up their developers because they don't have a pool of developers they can simply shift around (and there are other problems with it, any increase in developers needs time as new developers first need to be "shown the ropes" which first slows down everything). So the only other solution would be to press their developers into overtime.

That TFP fails the roadmap, well, I had hoped they would change their method with the release and add sufficient time and a rather fixed plan instead of adding features all the time, but obviously it didn't work. So TFP fails dates as they have been doing for years. PC players are used to that already. We can now safely assume that the delay will grow and there will be a lot more months of delay until the game is really finished.

TFP seems to have thought they needed to at least drop what they had to the public before the holidays, and one reason surely was that they were behind the schedule. And it backfired partly (We here in the forum don't know how many players were affected by the bug, but we can assume lots and lots of players did not experience problems, for them it did not backfire). I think it is a good thing that they didn't just call for everyone of their developers to be working on the christmas holidays just to be safe or worse, recall them. I blame TFP for not respecting that old rule they surely knew, but I also blame some players for putting their impatience above the wellbeing of TFPs employees.
