I think A17 will not bee released this year. I fear it will also not released in Q1/2019.

I suspect the Reason for that is, that TFP told us not the truth about the real State of the Development. I fear there are a lot of Major Bugs and maybe they have no Idea how to fix ist.

Why i have these Fears ?

Listen to some of the Postings from TFP and Roland. Nobody is willing to estimate an Releasedate - and Remember - we are waiting now for so long .... They told us : "Its done when its done"

Somebudy thinking about Duke Nukem Forever ???

Same Situation !!! The fixed one Problem - and get 3 new ones ...

So ... Dont make you crazy ... and check every Day for News ... it makes no sence hoping for a Game that is currently absolutly not playable ...

Gah just release it as an experimental build already. I keep trying to play A16 but I just can't get in to it thinking that any minute now A17 is going to release and I will need to start over again.

Exactly this is the worst part, since June(!) I would not start a new world due to the possibility of A17.

Plays great on Navezgane. Random Gen is another story.

This is absolutely the case. Of course there are Major Bugs. And of course they don't know how to fix them. If they knew how to fix them, they would be fixed and A17 would be released. If there weren't Major Bugs, A17 would be released.

They aren't willing to give dates because they get crucified when they miss them. Every dev ever misses their dates. That's game development in 2018. If the community could, as a whole, just say, "Oh well, obviously they needed more time to get the update done," then they might be willing to continue to give us dates. But everybody pulls off stupid crap like asking for time off for a friggin beta that is explicitly being conducted to see if there is anything majorly wrong with the back end and not being able to play at all is TOO BE EXPECTED. *Heavy breathing* Wait, which game are we talking about?

That is not what happened to DNF. Duke Nukem Forever had a perfectionist boss with too many ideas and not enough decisiveness. The game was built, torn down, and rebuilt over and over for years until id finally pulled the plug. That's why it never came out.

So ... Dont make you crazy ... and check every Day for News ... it makes no sence hoping for a Game that is currently absolutly not playable ...

It's all about attitude man. You can have a crappy attitude, moping and whining and acting all entitled. Sounds like a miserable lifestyle to me. Or you can accept that things take time, and all you need to have is patience to make it through.

 
One of my customers stopped by for his new PC today and asked when it'd be ready. I explained that I don't give any such estimates, because he'd just be upset with me if I didn't make the deadline.

It's always fun to read people demand a release date.

Chill, TFP has never given an anticipated release date. Their response as always been "IT'S DONE WHEN IT'S DONE"; They are under no obligation to do so either.

Mad shout out to the staff, the update videos that you guys put out looks awesome. No worries your LONG TIME base understand why, and respectively await.

I'm feeling the last week of November, streamers getting it on Friday the 23rd and 17e dropping after that.

I don't know - the 23rd being the day after Thanksgiving might leave several streamers in a lurch as many folks travel for the holiday. Unrealistic optimism would make it more this week or slightly more possibly the last week of November released to streamers and then early December 17e. Morose pessimism leads me to believe it's more likely mid December. That or it falls into 2019 - but that's cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria territory.

I remember in A13? A14? That they gave 5 consecutive release dates, and missed them all.

Oh, and Joel promised to eat his beard regarding something in A16, but then missed the deadline. Sounds familiar?

 
i discover "mist survival" last week , it's a pretty nice game in the same thematic for spending time. :distrust:

At this point, I would expect the Alpha 17 to be polished to the point that releasing it first exclusively for streamers after this long wait would feel like an insult to everyone who have been waiting patiently the whole time, but hey that's just me.

Well, but since nobody has been waiting *patiently* for A17, it should be OK to release it to streamers first ;)

What state it is in polish wise has zero bearing on the reason for releasing it to the streamers......

 
I don't get it.

Why are people upset Streamers get the game first?

There's more to making a game than creating code.

Half of what a developer does is Marketing. There's.... not really a paycheck in it unless you inform the public.

Streamers help to promote the game.

I would think folks would be excited that 7DTD has steady streamers who increase awareness of this great game.

Meh... what do I know.
