We will know with some days in advance, as streamers will prepare for their weekend early access :)

lets hope for the best in all those tests that are happening

 
We got a while to go if streamers get it first because they need to plan in advance for it and advertise it. I say forget the streamers first. Kind of like rubbing it in our face.

 
its sad to see so many people acting like little kids yelling WE WANT ALPHA 17 NOW !
you guys should think about that TFP having a real life too they cant work on the game hours over hours they need time for family and friends spend time with their kids

This gives me a brilliant idea: Get Joel's family to nag him about release. They only take vacation between Alphas, so we can send his wife in to say, "Honey, are you almost done?" and the kids to say, "We want to go to Disney World!"

 
Build 180 tonight had some important fixes to random gen. Testers are giving it a go now. They’ve been playing Nav up till now.

Oh geez thats good to know. The testees will probably find a million things that the devs didnt... ladies and gentleman, NOT November ;)

By the way, i do see the typo, but I kind of like it, so its staying

At the moment, no. We were told that random world generation is the part that holds up release at the moment, so other developers will just continue with their part of development, optimization and bug fixing.

The only thing we have to hope is that the other developers don't make the mistake of adding a half-finished feature that they can't turn off at any time. If that happens that feature could become the next road block. BUT this trap is so easy to avoid if you are using a version control system, and they would be completely mad not using one. We can be relatively sure this is not happening.

streamers get it 3 days early or so... so if they get it today, we can probably play next week...so hopefully they get it ^^

 
They are just now starting on random gen? Phht, we won't see A17 until January....if even then...

Roland said he would give a heads up when it would be released on that week. I believe he said the Monday before.

Perhaps I hallucinated all that. Too many Habanero peppers mixed with you eggs in the morning can do strange things... Mostly gastrointestinal, but we won't get into that. :)

If the tester type people are now in RWG, then maybe end of Feb?
