PC We still need Jars

1.44MB for 3.5". 160kB, 360kB, or 1.2MB for 5.25". I still have disks of both sizes. There were also some 2.88MB 3-1/2", but they weren't very common.

Not sure about the 5.25 but I do know I have a box with 1000+ 3.5" in my attic and maybe a few here in my room.
Aquired quite a few over the years buying games/programs/demos, etc. Plus blanks I had bought to hold my personal data.
I am not sure if I have my old comp around somewhere with a floppy drive on it. I think my bro-in-law has one or two in an old storage shed he had so I could probably technically still use them lol

I'm still waiting for TFP to port the game over to my comadore 64 and get me a copy on a cartridge for my artari 2600 :ROFLMAO:

I was a CoCo user myself. Still have one of those around somewhere too in the original box. May even have the tape player for it. Sadly I don't have the 5.25 floppy for it. I also probably have the 300 baud modem floating around up there somewhere too.
Oh and a few years of Rainbow magazine. I remember the fun/frustration of typing in pages of a programs to try and then losing them when I turned off my machine and it didn't have any storage.
Am just realizing I am a packrat/hoarder. I have tons of old magazines around. PC World, PC Computer, Compute, BYTE etc around from early 90's and later. Maybe even late 80's.

I have everything still for my 64, the monitor, PC (keyboard), the bluechip disk drive, the tape recorder, the modem (which last time I checked about 15 yrs ago, the modem still worked and you could pick up sports and stock reports with it) and then a couple joystick controllers.

I had sold my original CoCo years ago with it's drive when I upgraded to a proper IBM compatable (Think it was something like the Tandy 1000) But shortly after I missed it and bought another one which is in my attic. Am not 100% sure what is up there with it. I do think like I said the modem and am 1000% sure on the 3.5" disks because they have a lot of personal stuff I wanted to keep. God knows how I thought I was going to get it back off them lol

You're on the right track, thank you for these changes! Please reduce the spawn rate of frostclaws and plaguespitters even more, 50% isn't just enough and they still spawn often. Considering how far away and how silently they attack, they are much more dangerous than cops and wasteland mutants, even though they are found in much earlier biomes.
Currently on console, plague spitters are horrendous in the wasteland, standing at the edge of the wasteland from the pine forest, I can easily see 10+ along with several dire wolves. Can't wait for the update to come out.

One pc that I do miss is my TRS80. Even though it was huge and bulky it was still a fun computer to toy around with. I use to have an old portable sharp computer, that was kind of fun too, threw it away because the hard drive for it crapped out and I wasn't spending $400 on ebay for the replacement lol

My first computer experience was someone showing me their TRS-80 in 1981. From that moment on I was hooked. It was a few months later before I had gotten one myself but since I did I have ALWAYS owned a computer from that day forward...

...and now I will stop talking about this in the experimental channel before I get a warning.

:)

TFP don't purposely delete anything of anyone's. The game is still recieving updates because it's not completed yet so that's not going to change.

If you're using Nitrado, they are not the best. Players are having to restore a previous save and reapply the update(s) again because for some reason Nitrado just doesn't apply them correctly the first time.
Don’t put words in my mouth, I said find a way to provide updates without sacrificing the products progress for everyone moving forward, cause it’s ruining the experience for me. Been playing this for 7 years, wars have been fought in less time. Fix that problem and watch me shut up. 🤫

Anyway, your concern has been brought up by many other people. They are trying to find a way to prevent starting over with every major update, but there is no guarantee they can. Weird that you brought up the topic of wars just to get your point across. Tasteless, in my opinion.

It’s a movie quote, from the move “Cast Away”. A movie about survival, he had to build a raft to escape a deserted island to make it back home to his wife that had to move on cause she thought he was dead from the plane crash..

that’s another thing, why can’t we build a floating raft yet? That would be amazing!.

“Tasteless”? What the hell do you know about taste anyway. You’re only goal is to be a nightmare, not hard..

LOL. It just takes boundaries, purpose and a lot of Weed!
Translated that for ya! 😉

It is tasteless when you're using fighting a war to communicate your displeasure with a ■■■■ video game.

Now imagine that something that was meh got changed and you liked the change, I mean, REALLY liked the change and you really hoped that TFP would keep moving forward to the next group of updates and content additions but then someone said, "Change it back, I don't enjoy it."

That wouldn't feel great, right?
It's easier to have something and not use it than not have something, thus not having even the possibility of using it (the jar system for example).

Rick was not talking about or blaming anything in the past on past work. He was specifically talking about the future. If we make a lot more changes to 2.0, then it could delay 3.0 (bandits). Obviously, if some devs, like me, spent 3 more months on 2.0, then those devs would not be working on 3.0 for that amount of time.

I still plan on switching my dev time to bandits about when I was expecting to as I already anticipated us needing a few months after a x.0 release to bug fix and make improvements like normal. Worse case I see an extra 4 or 6 weeks of 2.x work before some devs switch to 3.0.
Bandits have been delayed for like 10 years. Unless you think bandits are what saves 7DTD from the ■■■■show it's been lately, delaying something that's already been delayed for a decade is probably better.

LOL. It just takes boundaries, purpose and a good sense of humor.

"You can't code". "You are lazy". "You better do x". "The game is dead". Says those who have never experienced a single day with us doing our job or know what our team has to deal with. I would love to have some of these people sit next to me for an entire day to introduce them to reality, but that is not practical. They would be bored anyway watching things like tracking down a bug or testing something over and over again.

Have you played for a while with the reduction? It may take time to see the change as any that were spawned in an area are in the save data, so you would not see less until they respawned or you entered an unexplored area.
Backseating is part of life. Have you ever watched sports and been frustrated at people whose JOB it is to hit the goal or the basket and they mess up in seemingly "easy" situations?

You are making it sound like your life's miserable and you are sweating your butt off to satisfy people while getting constantly yelled at. On one hand, welcome to the internet. On the other, the team ■■■■ed up big time and has been for a while, people just got fed up. You're paying the price.

Just to remind you, ladies and gentlemen, this adult is talking about a videogame.

I need help discerning your first sentence because it isn't making any sense. Are you saying it's better to leave in possibly defunct/imbalanced/unstable/unsupported mechanics just so you can have the possibility of using it?

Bandits being delayed 10 years is assuming they were one of the first things planning on being made/added. Bandits weren't even a main subject during the kickstarter, so why would it have been "delayed" for that long? You don't think it's wise to finish most of the base game+zombies before trying to add in things like bandits? I hope they delay it forever and focus on different zombies instead, but that's just me.

"Backseating is part of life." Duh. Do you think it'd be wise for the coaches to grab some rabid fan out of the audience and ask them what the next play should be? The fan might be frustrated but that doesn't mean he has any idea what's going on. Why should they care about your opinions if you can't even bring up any constructive points or advice? How the did the team mess up? Why is 7DTD a ****show? You have 3 messages since 2016 and this is how you choose to behave?

Yes! And I shouted my strategies and frustrations in the privacy of my home at my television set. The players and coaches never heard me. I think it is pretty universally considered rude to backseat directly to a person while they are in the process of doing whatever they are doing. Backseat Drivers are pretty much hated by all precisely because they make their comments directly to you WHILE you are driving.

Jars, no jars...dew collectors...none of that is hard. BUT, water should be filtered/boiled AND treated...Potassium Permanganate. I use and keep a large store of it in my emergency supplies and in my water filtration systems. It helps disinfect and remove impurities from water.

But its a game again, and food and water end up not really being an issue no matter what you do, and that is fine once you reach a certain point. People would end up crying about constantly having to worry about getting food or water if they made it harder/realistic. Imagine having to wait 28+ days for crops to grow, check their water levels, water them, fight off insect pests...build a functional greenhouse...which we actually could do/should do in the game...

While I would love tedious, hardcore realism in my zombie survival game...I think that could be adjusted and fixed with mods in the end.

The best parts in my newest playthrough of 2.2+ has been the PIO's especially the wilderness and caverns spots. or that wanna be Vault complete with voice lines I found doing a T6 Infection mission...great work! Everything else...will get sorted...eventually...

Where's the Lysol? Smells like Reddit in here.
