It sounds like that will be possible to share it in the way you mentioned. The settings will be an XML IIRC. Include it with the mod and tell users to select it. I don't think they'll have it set to force the use of it or to set those as default the first time a game is started with the mod. But that's just a guess on my part. I think users who want the "full" experience of the mod will be open to loading those settings, but many people like making their own changes, especially when they have all these new settings to choose from, so it probably won't be a normal thing to use all the mod's setting.I saw there will probably be a way to share setting presets between users. Would it be possible to have a way for mods to set a preset as well? So for us overhaul modders we could set our own "defaults" we think work best with our mods? We could obviously make the settings and then share the preset code or whatever it will be along with the mod, but expecting users to input that before playing will definitely lead to issues. Haha.
That's exactly what I don't want to have to do. Haha. Users can be lazy and they definitely don't typically read. I'd rather be able to have a mod set a default and then those that know the settings menus exist can tweak what they want while a lot of them just hit play.Include it with the mod and tell users to select it.
They already have a Default button for settings. I doubt that will go away. Also, I think they should add a [TFP settings] button to the sandbox that will reset everything to the "factory defaults".![]()
Easiest on that in my opinion would be for you to redefine the changes you want as the default settings as part of your mod. Then users who play your overhaul mod just need to press the default button and everything will change to the defaults you as the modder defined. They can experiment with changes but if they suck they can always just press the defaults button and bring everything back to the choices you made as the mod author. That's exactly what I don't want to have to do. Well, that's what I'm asking about; if that will be possible with a mod. I mean, sure, I could hardcode the defaults or even not allow them to be changed, but I was curious if a mod would be able to have a preset included that would be active as the default. I know that would be the easiest way, but they haven't mentioned mod support for the new feature. That's why I asked. oh...I am still here, but, since there are new owners I don't see any point in asking these guys any questions. Like the AMA...I won't get any straight answers to the questions I would like answered.Usually @HammerDano does it for us but he's been missing for a while... When are we getting any updates on this?![]()
I'll try it, just for you, but have doubts about getting any answers since I haven't seen Faatal here in a very long time.oh...I am still here, but, since there are new owners I don't see any point in asking these guys any questions. Here's the answer to your question though...no...there's nothing on when the "3.0" sandbox will be done.

I personally think it's weird that neither company thought it was important to have more concrete info to give about the way forward...considering the sale of the Company was not even a rumour before it was announced. I believe "they" have said THAT info will come out in a couple of months...too little too late imo. oh well.
I'd rather they put in real ladder climbing animations.I hope this get seen. It would be nice to turn off zombies climbing ladders , and add falling damage. There is a mod so I know it can be done. Thanks![]()
Speaking of questions that will never be answered. The same people are in charge of TFP and the development of 7dtd. Until that changes (if ever), nothing changes on your capacity to get answers on this forum. It's always been either the content of your questions being things they don't want to reveal yet (or ever) or your general tone that has been the issue.
The company sale being "a surprise" is normal, that's very often how these things happen. Wouldn't be surprising if even most TFP employees didn't know about it until the final stages (or even right before the public announcement).
I much preferred the second block targeting myself...but only because it makes for a convenient fight window when you don't want leave a building to chase down a noisemaker outside or have a chance to get in a good many free hits when they're trapped inside and your avatar is outside. That kind of thing.@meganoth
Any idea if it's possible to revert the zombie behavior where they attack the bottom block when they're trying to get into an area? I'd like if they couldn't duck anymore, but someone else mentioned how that would screw up the new spawning setups in newer POIs (where they spawn in already in a crouched/ducking position).
For the purposes of keeping zombies out of areas, block health has effectively been halved now that zombies target the lowest block first and then crouch to get through the hole they create. Before, they would attack the second block (from the ground), and once that was broken, they'd target the bottom block so they could walk through. I don't know if it's possible to keep crouching, or at least keep it for those spawning situations, but remove their abilities to crouch otherwise, and for them to attack the second block like they used to.
My guess is, because the takeover by Behaviour, they cannot really make any announcements until they finalize plans for the future of the game.I hope the pimps are doing well its been very quiet
