V2.5 Survival Revival Dev Diary

Storms are not turned off when disabling biome progression. They are indepandant.

Code:
<property name="BiomeProgression" value="true"/> <!-- Enables biome hazards and loot stage caps to promote biome progression. Loot stage caps are increased by completing biome challenges. -->

<property name="StormFreq" value="100"/> <!-- Adjusts the frequency of storms. 0% turns them off. Vanilla values: 0, 50, 100, 150, 200, 300, 400, 500 -->
Also you dont even xml for it @Chris Dunaway

I know we use to in alpha 15 but not now

[Only fresh meat smells] for now...Bandits though...
In fairness, I wasn’t thinking about bandits when writing my reply. When they’re added, it would be worth revisiting when enemies can smell players, since we’ll have a completely new type of enemy.

With that said, I’m not so sure bandits should smell rotten flesh, either. They would have the same problem, where (thematically, if not literally) there are rotting corpses with gaping, smelly wounds all around them all the time in the zombie apocalypse. A survivor e.g. gutting a zombie dog would barely add to the baseline of all the other zombie guts permeating the world. I would rather see a bandit, say, ‘seeing’ your garden and trying to steal your harvestable crops.

  • In the early game, you scavenge for jars and fill them with murky water from natural lakes, rivers and ditches, or from other man-made bodies of water. Murky water is boiled for use as normal. Toilets, sinks, and other water fixtures are all dried up.

Hallo,

Hello,

First of all, thank you so much for the great update! I'm really impressed, and please keep up the good work. With so many customization options, you can make it as challenging as you like!

One thing I'm really interested in: Is the chicken coop still coming? Or is it no longer planned? Or will it only be included in version 3.0?

Greetings from Germany :)

ps: ( übersetzt mit Google :( )

I have continued a game with 2.5 and have not found an empty jar either. Toilets had only paper, no empty jar, kitchen cupboards and garbage heaps had everything but empty jars.

My theory is either that on higher levels jars are not found at all or not frequent in the loot tables. Or it is a result of continuing with an old game from version 2.0 or 2.1.

He stated he never finds a murky jar in toilets anymore. That is what i responded to. They wont be found there anymore.

They should be in before 3.0.

It seems there are 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8 planned at least, so one of those.

I also continued my game from version 2.0 and have found several jars of murky water, clean water and epty jars in loot except in toilets.

Yes, all types of water are in loot, just at different rates and possibly different loot types.
By the way... it's not very important, but since 1.0 or such there's still the issue that sometimes when you fell a tree it won't play the animation or sound and will just outright disappear on the spot (after a small delay).

Not even worth a bug report, but if you happen to cross that part of the code...
