Wouldn't BFT have to just release everywhere to be considered shovelware?

Time for, yet again, more questions that I'm asking for a friend (of course I am).

- Will 3rd person definitely be in a 2.X update (2.5, 2.6...) or do you have a feeling that it might end up in version 3.0?
I remember you mentioning that it was something like 50% done?
- Is the ladder climbing being redone (because of the 3rd person option)?

3rd person should be in some 2.x release, but I doubt 2.5.
I don't think so. We/I want players being able to turn, aim, shoot and use stuff in all directions on ladders and not be stuck on them.

I think MM said once it's in containers it no longer produces a smell, but it would be nice if you put it in non-player-made containers it would still attract them. Or even make it so you need a fridge to safely store it. Wishful thinking, I know. Haha.

Smell comes from you, not items. It is a part of player stealth code. Items do not have stealth.

Smell will be able to be toggled on and off?

The plan is, I will be adding a Smell option, which will let you disable or set the move speed of zombies chasing smells. Currently they are using the blood moon move speed.

I hope that third-person perspective is optional, for me it would take away all the charm and immersion that the first-person camera gives you.

It will certainly be. You will not find me playing in 3rd person. 3rd person is quite a different feel from 1st, so taking it away would not be wise.

it's been a couple weeks...is it going to be a couple more before we see 2.5 in experimental? there have been a lot of things implied to be coming soon or before Christmas...what will be in 2.5?

We hope for next week and have a short list of features we want functional in it. Smell and some other features will not be in the first exp, but will roll out as we feel they are solid.

My guess is 2.5 is going to be the new models, increase loot from storms and that's it maybe some QOL stuff

Nope. Most of that should be 2.x.

@faatal In the future, can you convince them to add some unreported easter eggs.
Not actual eggs, but either subtle or overt things, added that must be discovered
through gameplay. example: when timids in the brush was added.
