Not sure if i posted this already as am on my phone and this paragraph was in my copy/paste buffer.      ---

At work I've been watching JWoodle play a mod called Escape from Tarkov in v1.b14. Hadn't played 1.3 Stable yet so added Tarkov and a few other mods and it's actually really good. The weapon and food animations are fantastic, so yeah it can be done....
By the way, it's JaWoodle. Just in case you wanted to know.

You really don't care to get into debates, but then debate. Sorry, I am only doing what people do on forums, and you are doing it too and claim you are not doing it.

LOL, fair enough. Guilty as charged. 😅

It doesn't matter to me if DLSS is officially supported or not, as long as it works. Currently it works quite well via Laydor's mod. I hope it continues to work, because being forced back to using FSR would make me very sad.

It was obvious that it could be done, but the question is how much effort it means for the developers. Modders simply use existing models and usually don't care much about copyright or licensing. In addition, you have to rebalance the game as necessary. As a game developer you also have to question yourself whether you really want to have a dozen types of ammunition in the game or not.

I love the vanilla game to death and chop and change various mods across different 7 days versions so i can never complain... Other than about the new screamer sounds...

And re jawoodle yeah of course I know. Who doesn't, he's ace 😂

All of those assets are from EFT. TFP can't just hire the modder and get to use all of those. Lol. Use your brain.

EFT is made on the Unity engine though, so 7 Days could easily have weapons like that. But TFP has stated multiple time they have no plans for that.
I'm talking about the shooting animations not the guns themselves.

The animations are from EFT too. One thing I really like about the mod is that it adds proper food and drink animations... all of which are also from EFT.

well it tells me that they can do things like this and there for they should improve recoil animation, tucking the gun when you run etc. I bet they have an animator that knows everything that's wrong with vanilla guns there just having him work on maybe another game lol.

They did say they planned to add new eating and drinking animations/art.  I don't remember if they said which update that was planned for, though.

I don't suppose we're going to get any Storm's Brewing info updates soon? Sneak Peeks, teasers, etc?
faatal recently agreed that they should start working on a v2 dev diary, so it should be fairly soon to at least get that.  They haven't said anything about a delay, which suggests 4-6 weeks or so before experimental (or less).  Of course, that doesn't mean they'll hit that target.

Besides, the devs just got done stating that cr is for dev use.  They want players to use region reset instead.  So whether or not they even think it needs fixed is up to them and how it impacts their own use.  They have no reason to fix it for players if they want players to not use it.
I totally understand that they stated cr is for dev use, that basically means now they expect server owners to wipe all players bases in the region just to fix a small prefab or chunk in an area. That honelty to me doesn't make sense nor would it be fair to any player who gets their base wiped over a small chunk issue. Seriously, any reasonable admin would probably agree.

Console commands are developer commands.

When you are playing the game within the supported specs, you generally don't run into this kind of an issue where you have to reset chunks.

Just a reminder, supported gameplay is as follows.
Maximum of 8-player co-op with friends.

The game isn't designed to support a 50-player server like you are running.

It should be this update the food art.

BTW I tried corn beef and harsh and it smelled like dog food. I felt like my current playthrough rn. Just cooking some dog food over my stove

Region reset can be limited to a specific region and will not impact anything that is in a land claim area.  I believe it also doesn't affect things close to a bedroll or vehicle either, but I haven't tested that.  Yes, regions are larger than chunks, but it works similarly and is the intended command for use.  You shouldn't need to reset regions or chunks anyhow, except in specific situations, like adding a new POI, which isn't a normal thing in an active game anyhow.

I like corned beef hash, but yeah, it kind of seems like dog food.  It's good, though.   :)

Your basing your statement off of single player games, The truth in reality which includes ps5 or xbox multiplayer any server(s) that has an open population is going need to be able to do cr for alot more reasons than you just listed.

I am basing it on a normal 1-8 player P2P.  Servers that are running non-stop for hundreds of days will of course run into issues.  That's what the chunk persistence is for.

After discussing with the moderators, we feel bugs/technical problems in the current game such as this are best addressed via the Bug Pool, not discussed in the Dev Diary. Thanks.
Then ask TFP to release some friggin' content update regularly on this "Dev Diary". The only one doing anything is faatal on his own volition, and we're grateful for that, but what is the purpose of a dev diary with no content or regular updates provided by the devs themselves?

It's all speculating and lamenting after a while, if there's no dev interaction people will start to eat their nails and spit on each other ffs

I'm fully supportive of the devs, believe me, but you can't blame people for derailing when there's almost nothing to be derailed in the first place.

The feel of these guns and vanilla guns are miles apart. Please pay this modder to work on the guns. At first I thought it was a limitation were it was super hard to improve the gun animations but now there isn't any reason why the vanilla guns need to be this bad. Contract this guy please.
I suspect that animations are just low on the priority list.

And they don't need to hire a modder for it. It's not like they don't know how to add new animations. That's entry level dev skill work.

And this modder probably stole these animations from another game or used a free animation pack from an asset store.

The bug pool should be migrated to the main forum, right under the General Support forum - "POST BUGS HERE". Nice and easy. Blatant and obvious.

Right now you gotta click the banner. Then you got to sift through a big post. Then you gotta click something else which brings you somewhere that isn't exactly laid out like the rest of the forum. Regardless if it's not truly difficult to navigate, the way it's set up now is a deterrent. That is why people post bugs here.

Couldn't have said it any better. The content discussed is well within the topic, as it pertains to the current version of the game. What else would there be to discuss in a forum thread that supposedly is for developers to talk about the current features being worked on, when we haven't had any real content for 2.0 shared since October?

Good luck. I have been saying that for a while. I fully expect the answer you will recieve is: TFP don't answer to no one...it will be done when its done...they don't owe you communication.
