They are bring a hybrid LBD!

Sir! The timeline readings... they're off. Not by a little, they're .. looping? And leaping? And .. what is going on?!?

how are they ever going to finish this game? They can't seem to pick a lane and stay in it, but, they were sure enough when they put out the "overly optimistic" dates on the road map.
Bandits still are not game ready...there's not a clue how or what the story will be or how it will be implemented, if the story will only really apply to the Navezgane Map or if it will work on any RWG map. But don't worry about 3.0 and 4.0 because what HAS been released is going to reworked again. I vastly prefer LBD, it needed tweaking not replacing, I will say thing about magazines...tweak it instead of replacing...if you must. and honestly...it doesn't seem like it needs to be urgently "fixed".

I don’t think it is urgent. Madmole is at the “thinking about the design” stage and not the implementation stage. This very well could be in the community appeasement 3.x patch that will inevitably happen after the 3.0 review bombing run….
I think that would be the best path if they did this going forward.

It is a form of development that focuses on prototypes and experimentation. They iterate, trying things, seeing how they pan out, and are willing to backup and redo. That kind of development methodology is more about finding the best fit and not about a finish. Putting everything on hold and dropping back to try to please the community with rework is part of the process.

Iterative methodologies are really common in software, but the uncommon thing is that they don't seem to be running out of funding or facing typical corporate pressures, either of which would create a sense of urgency.

Or at least that's my take on it from the cheap seats.

If its the appeasement 3.x patch i would rather them cook for awhile before jumping head first like storms brewing. If 2.5 was the original version of 2.0 then people wouldn't complain but hignsight is 20/20.

I think and hope that 3.0 isn't going to be another 2.x

I have hopes about what madmole said cuz this happened with jars and hopefully the hybrid system

Look...I am not disagreeing with you...it does seem to be how they do things. It just ■■■■es me off.

This is higher fantasy than zombies…
I hate to admit you are both right. I agree that if they had planned better and released something as good as 2.5 instead of what they did, a lot more people would be happier with the game and the management right now. Roland is also right...I have seen guys that never seem to complain about ANYTHING making pointed complaints this week. which blew my mind, from what I have seen from watching the You Tube crowd...people are super stoked about 2.5. I think Adam was making the point that the over all balance of favorability and trust would have been higher...but silence ALL of the complaints...it would not.
I really hate that I got suckered into buying this again. I like 2.5 so far...I hate that it took this long to get to this point. The idea that everything and anything could still be reworked is ridiculous. Congrats on getting my money twice. How many years until it is a finished game? why am I asking them...they don't know either. neither do any of you.

I'm not very hopeful that they'll make something that is good. LBD is so often poorly handled in games and with all the suggestions people have given here haven't exactly made me think anyone is going to come up with something that is good. But we'll see. Hopefully someone will be ready to mod it out again if it turns out poorly, which I unfortunately expect it will.

■■■■, and im over here happy that they are still ripping things out and replacing them. Makes it fun to come back to the game every update. While i too have complaints its never been about what they take out, its always been how it gets put in. The reasons they tell us for a systems removal have always made sense to me, just that the replacements never felt properly worked on/implemented.

Band aid solutions to band aid problems regardless, i hope they continue to change and upgrade things as we go along!

Agreed. I like TFP and think they have made a really good game, but I do sometimes wonder at who is deciding what is "good" or "good enough" because a lot of stuff recently has felt half-done or just completely wrong. I'm not trying to be critical of them, but it definitely stands out lately.

would It be fair to say that the PC crowd have this attitude, because nothing has changed for you? you guys bought in for the looooooooooong haul. You guys seem to like EA.
I bought back in BECAUSE OF THE DATES ON THE ROAD MAP. I didn't think they wouldn't have some small delays...that it wouldn't take an extra 6 months or so overall. THIS is nothing like THAT. The dates were not "overly optimistic" they were fabrications. Seems like there is no real plan, just reactions to reactions, and then another system rework or two...then some more reacting to reactions. when does THAT end? seriously...how many more years?
