After the new stuff that came to light I changed my mind, yes it was Tfp fault for sending him the wrong build,
yes it was his fault he streamed it (albeing not knowing it being the wrong build)
And it's (harder to say mind you) but kinda crappy he didn't take down the video. But Yall sent it too him, it's not like he watches other videos. Maybe he through it was A secret thrown his way! A BONE TO THROW if you will (granted no one else got that content or even talked about it after it was posted)
But trying to attack him is not really cool. He *was* a massive cheerleader for the game (I rarely watched his videos I kinda find him annoying) buy still not really deserved.
Yall already tried to fix your rep with 2.0 dropping the ball, yall really messed up now. Do better and make the right choices
At least you could have offended to delete the video for some kind of compassion. IE money
I’ve been on the fence about TFP and 7d2d for the last three or four years now, but honestly, this is the final straw for me.
You are not a good company.
Your release dates constantly come and go and never materialise. You promise features for years, sometimes more than a decade, and then act like people are unreasonable for asking where they are. You’ve now gone down the micro-DLC route as well, charging $10 for an armour skin that people were originally led to believe was coming as part of an expansion.
That is just scummy on another level.
You’ve been promising bandits since the Kickstarter in 2012. It is nearly 2027 and guess what? We still don’t have bandits.
And now you’re attacking your creator community. The very community that has helped keep this game alive for all these years.
You could have handled this so much better.
You could have just been honest with everyone and said:
“Guys, we goofed. We sent JaWoodle the wrong build. The footage is from an old and unfinished version of the game, so please don’t take it as representative of the final content.”
That’s it. Problem handled.
You sent him the wrong build. That was your fault, not his.
By the time the video was out, thousands of people had already seen it anyway. Trying to remove it after that is the Barbra Streisand effect on steroids. All you’ve done is bring even more attention to it and make yourselves look worse.
You already had a terrible reputation with alot of the community after 2.0. The dumbing down of the game, armour cosmetics becoming paid DLC, the endless bugs, missing features and constantly missed release dates have already pushed people to the edge.
Now you’re trying to copyright strike a smaller YouTuber who has spent years promoting your game and supporting you.
A big company like The Fun Pimps, along with Behaviour Interactive, going after one creator like this looks absolutely pathetic. Do you have any idea how poorly this reflects on you?
You keep blaming the community whenever your plans change as well. Bandits were supposed to be part of 3.0, and then suddenly it was, “No, the community wanted us to focus on survival.”
No. That was your decision.
Stop blaming the people who have kept this game alive. You constantly act like the community owes you something, when in reality its the other way around.
Get off your high horse.
You are a developer. You live and die by the community you create. If you keep attacking that community, especially creators as loyal as JaWoodle has been, then eventually you are going to destroy it.
And honestly, I think this could be the nail in the coffin for alot of people.
It certainly is for me. I’m done, and I won’t be playing 7D2D again.
