PC Pre-Release Streaming Weekend Event -- A18 edition

Idk i am changing my steam review to not recommended over this, maybe when they get flooded with bad reviews they will stop doing this dumb streamer stuff. I paid just as much, I probably have more hours put in with 4757 hours played, and have waited just as long.. Just because game4kickz showed his boobs on stream and became known doesn't mean i should have to wait longer.. Off to play the forest to forget about this game for a while.

It won’t ever be a flood. Maybe 5 years ago it might have been but the world is changing. LBD caused more of a stir than this ever does and....still no LBD.

I love the idea of the "streamers" showing us what to look out for and what is new. Sometimes when you are "in" you miss things cuz you are only focused on survival. Personally, I have to watch in small doses since I get motion sick (stupid I know).

Anyone see if they put the FOV slider in or do we have to console command it?

Question: why is it SO IMPORTANT for you to get your hands on the build as quickly as possible? Are you good at finding and reporting bugs to be fixed? Do you have magical abilities to allow you to instantly judge balance and offer optimization suggestions? Do you have a skill that makes you invaluable to game designers in the development of their game?

I suspect not if you are here on the forums making petty threats like this over a couple days of time out of the potential months that are ahead of us.

I know 2 streamers and it's a lot of work, not just a press the record button while you play. One streamer actually quit because it was too much work to prepare, read and answer comments, etc.; no free time for just about anything else. The other streamer sadly passed away earlier this year (DianddraD). I used to play with DianddraD and was lucky to try out A17 on the streamers weekend with her and Beelzybub last year. It was a blast!

You can go and play the Forest if you want, but we'll play A18 tomorrow. You'll be missing out on some greatness for sure.

I have tried streaming a couple of times, have been thinking of mixing streams into my video rotation. In a way it's easier than videos, because I don't do any editing after the fact, and it is much less of my time for a 3 hour stream than a 30 minute video, between editing, post processing, and uploading.

On the other hand, streaming is more pressure and prep work ahead of time. I'm normally a single player gamer, and interacting with the audience is a distraction that can distract me from playing my best. Even speaking during my video recording can do that. I see a lot of people saying that all the streamers suck, but I think it's difficult to entertain people and play your best at the same time.

It's just a hobby for me, and I have a very small audience, but I give props to the guys who do it more seriously. I don't think I have enough "social energy" to produce the amount of content some of these guys put out in a week.

 
Imagine grown adults throwing tantrums because some people get to play a video game 3 days before them. If you could travel back in time how would you even begin to explain that to someone from the 19th century lol
