PC Parkour is really overpowered

They could just add some fumbling arm motion so you can immerse yourself thinking it's pulling yourself up rather than jumping if that helps with your immersion lol.
I could black out the screen while you jump.

Totally immersive. DON'T PANIC!

There's an idea, I might muck around and increase it to like 50 or something.... see what that's like... hehe.
Look at the admin items. They are not disabled for experimental.

You know what, I didn't even think to check. I'll definitely do that next time I get some game time. :-)

The level 100+ is a fair point. Players are pretty unkillable at that point even without the perk..
EVERYTHING becomes OP at level 100. Please don't pick on the one perk in the game that is genuinely FUN. There is so little pure unadulterated FUN left in A17, don't kill it off more, please?

So, I had some perk points to spend last night while streaming and remembered this post. Since everything I want between level 80-100 is level locked I decided to go from 0/5 points in Parkour to 4/5.... Holy s*** there is a huge difference lol

I think it is not more OP, than purple AK with all related level 5 perks. Stealth is also sweet, and on lvl5 may seem OP.

However,

1) for Parkour you need actually something to jump on, in the most critical situations you don't.

2) for AK you need ammo

3) for stealth you need close quarters or darkness

and for all of these tactics you need a skill as a player to use them correctly.

Actually these new features are marvelous, as for balance - I don't see anything really bad right now. Especially for stealth - you accidentally jump off the table and a half of zombies in a house are hunting for you :D , and very probably you are dead in a couple of seconds. However, this makes stealth challenging and fun, I love it ;) .

Holy ♥♥♥♥ I love the double standard here. Its amazing what people choose to define as fun or not. "OMG zombie can dig, Pimps remove its no fun" "OMG Wandering Hordes can spot me Pimps fix it no GPS hordes" but then this comes along, and now its "Don't say anything Pimps may remove it".
Nerf Stamina! Nerf Blood Moon! More XP for Standing in the corner! THOSE all are great ideas right?

But the second something seems out of place everyone is shushed to silence because we can exploit this to our advantage. Im not advocating removing it but its just funny the battles you guys choose and the ones you ignore.
Hilarious, I was just thinking the exact same thing.

Well to be fair, do we know its the same people saying those things?

Perhaps you could provide us with a list of Jax-approved items which we're allowed to like or dislike according to your standards?

That would be helpful. Thanks.

hmmm... Three metre jump height regardless whether fun or not, to me just feels unnatural and immersion breaking for what's supposed to be a survival game - I'm playing a survivor not a marvel superhero.
Really?

You know that saying gets tossed out far too often these days.

"But... but... my immersion!"

Come on! Are you really expecting us to believe that?

We can carry TONS of weight in rocks.

There are zombies.

You respawn when you die.

You can hold a vehicle in your backpack.

"All fine ..... yup.... no problem here!

Oh wait!

What? I can jump three meters?

THAT'S IT! I'M OUT!

What an immersion breaking thing! NO that's the line right there! I'm out."

Come on! Who are you trying to kid?

PS: That's a pretty funny user name. I like it.

Straw that broke the camel's back?... lmao, just kidding around. I agree that immersion is great, but one could argue that every element is "immersion breaking"

Exactly.

And funny thing... the comment above that with Jax saying people pick and choose their battles could apply to immersion breaking as well couldn't it?

It's funny what people choose to feel is immersion breaking.

I have been dreaming of parkour system since alpha10. This lazy 'you can jump higher now lol' is terrible :/

The abilty to grab ledges and shimmy along/climb up (for us AND zombies) would add a lot to the game.

Look at the left4dead games: zombies can run, jump, grab the edge of a window and throw themselves through.

Being able to jump 3 blocks up is lame, being able to sprint up to a wall, and jump and grab a ledge 3 blocks up? Im down with that idea.

TL;DR: this isnt parkour, parkour would be way cooler and should have been added forever ago.

Yeah, the "immersion" defense is just about as bad as the "reality" one.

What it really even means is debatable; some people scream about HUD elements ruin their immersion, to me having to constantly stop and look at a character screen because of lack of HUD elements ruins my immersion.

I gotta agree. I love the parkour in Dying Light, but once you've done all the quests it makes you want to go play 7DTD again.

It did make for some awkward moments, cause all of a sudden it's like...oh, I can't do this, wrong game.

I could black out the screen while you jump.

Just ignore them :p

Well then what happened to the admin block remover, I couldn't find it last week? (I admit I been too lazy to look through XML, just haven't had time)

Everyone talking about how crazy it is to jump 3 meters, but no mention of how the perk also lets you fall 100 blocks and only lose half your health? Granted, that's with the mod for less fall damage on top of everything. That's some amazing tuck and roll action...

Zombies at current can only lose 33% of thier HP to fall damage, this should probably be balanced at the same time. (Tottaly agree that players shouldnt be able to fall dumb distances, regardless of perk/xp level, somthing like this should be the same across all players IMO).

Actually sure I could do that. Just as you do in every post where you condemn ANY kid of difficulty. Sucks when someone steps in and throws it right back at you doesn't it? You lot who want it easier and less grindy always think you are right, making post after post about why this and that is just so awful and unplayable.

Don't sass me about lists when you yourself carry around one just as long as mine. Problem is I don't go around saying my ideas are THE way it should be. But you reduced difficulty players sure are the first to point out why YOUR way is the only right way.

You going to deny there's a double standard? Ohh an exploit this is fun Pimps please dont balance it. BOOO a digging zombie, get rid of it Pimps it ruins everything. Unbelievable.

But dont worry that balance patch is coming, and it will fix all the things you think is wrong with the game like Mining XP and Level Gates. Then you guys can be on to the NEXT thing you need nerfed in order to continue to have "fun". Because it wont stop there.

Dont worry guys, this will be nerfed soon enough, have fun while it lasts. Just remember one-block ingress...

For real? No matter how far they fall? Glad I didn't bother digging any pits to bedrock.

You're both wrong, MY way is the only right way! :cocksure:

It's just impossible to please everyone. We all have own ideas what's the perfect game, it's just some ppl post like they're the major shareholder demanding TFP do this do that after paying what $10-$20?? My fav struggle on these forums is:

early game - "Gawd these bullet sponges are so tedious and unrealistic"

late game - "Gawd I'm maxed out and everything drops in 1 - 2 hits, how about some challenge TFP!"

Anyways I see max jump as a fun perk. Imo the most dangerous place right now are poi's, sure it might save u if u find a high place but usually u won't have that many areas to jump indoors. And outdoors is relatively safe even on always run.

Wow dude... do we want to pretend that no one on the other side wasn't crying constantly about people hiding underground in post after post during A16? Or that in A17 just about every single post about the game being too difficult (which I don't agree with, by the way) we've got a group of 3 or 4 people who jump in and just tell everyone how wrong they are? The endless complaints are coming from both sides of the fence.

You going to deny there's a double standard? Ohh an exploit this is fun Pimps please dont balance it. BOOO a digging zombie, get rid of it Pimps it ruins everything. Unbelievable.
Are you sure there is a double standard? Are the people asking for parkour to be left alone the same people that don't like the difficulty level of the current game? Or maybe they're the same people that didn't like underground being safe in the last alpha? I really don't know since I'm not going to investigate their post history.

Ain't it the truth!

Glad, I already felt like I got my moneys worth for 7DTD even before I threw down money on it (but then I had tried a pirated version and liked it so much I went and bought it), something that I can't say about a lot of my EA experience. Yes, it can mean Early Access or Electronic Arts. What do they have in common besides their initials? They both generally suck!

I've always hated bullet sponges at least I'm consistent.

I'm amused too by how polarized people are on this perk (but then that seems everything around here). One of my group was all excited over it, I was like "meh". Like you I think it sounds like a fun perk, but I don't got points to be spending on fun perks. It can probably be argued that very few if any perks are "essential" we've all got our own lists of what perks are essential, but those are more essential to our own playstyles.

It might be a game changer at level 5, but aren't most of the perks gamechangers at level 5? Granted if broken legs were as common as in A16 I'd feel differently about the immunity. I feel like the few times in A17 that I broke my leg I deserved it, you can already fall a pretty fair distance.
