My point was that PC players treated those updates as "progress" and we were no closer to a finished game. Which is/was Hyperbole on my part...they did add POI's, but, did not put us any closer to a finished game...and by that I mean Bandits, a working weather system and the story line they want to add.
I was also pointing out there has been no public push back on the snail pace, which I think has been hidden behind new skins and progression reworks. I will continue to push back on the idea there has been no dependence on the modders by the player base. TFP at least partially depend on content creators to keep both bases interested in this game. They all use mods.
I truly appreciate what you have done to help facilitate conversation, but, that is not true. They did say it. Their eventual explanation was that "it was how it was referred to internally". I could easily concede it can be hard to walk back misspoken words. But, not that it did not happen.
Without context those sentences by TFP can not be understood. It is obvious that that "always" can't mean **always**. Madmole did not know that A22 was 1.0 when he was a kid and not when they were just doing alpha1 or alpha10 when they didn't even know how many alphas there would be. It was surely meant that as soon as they knew A22 was coming or when they started planning A22 there was already a decision about making it 1.0 instead.
The sentence probably was said in a conversation here in the forum to dispell rumors that Sony and Microsoft demanded the rename, and it meant to say that the decision came **before** the talks with S. and MS. started.
I was asking Roland recently about that rumor and he explained in depth the hows and why's. Sadly I forgot most of that explanation already (it made sense by the way) and have to find it again.
You say TFP depends on mods to keep both bases happy. If you meant PC and console, why do you say they all use mods? The console players can't (yet)
