How far have you gone this playthrough?

Just some advice: you should have 6 blocks between the tower and the outer wall so you can add 2 sets of blade traps on the bottom. The blade traps are 3x3 so you would need 6 block open from the tower to the outer wall. Also I would suggest having at least one layer of concrete, one layer down under the floor level around your base. Then go out about 4 block outside of your outer walls. I used 2 layer of concrete under my complete base, this was way overkill though. This is in case you have demolishers exploding and making a hole in anything less than 1 layer of concrete. If the base floor is cobble then there will be a hole in the dirt and the zeds will start digging under your base on HN. The demolsihers do about 1 layer of concrete block damage, but that was at +200 block damage on horde night in the settings. Also this will allow rocket launcher blast to not damage your floor as well. I never used HE rockets, but Frag rockets don't do much damage to concrete.
Not sure what tower you are talking about.
Check this out, If you pause the video at the end, you can see what one demolisher did to a concrete block floor. If this was cobble, this blast would have made a 2 layer or more hole. Then the zeds start digging under.

Nice.
You have definitely been busy and your base is really cool. You might want to add some bars on the sides of the outer walkway though. Not to keep you from damage but to not fall off into the zeds. I have done this a few times and it never ends well.
I agree, it's a work in progress, and will eventually have railing all the way around.

I'm having health issues, and my playtime has been affected. One day, I went out for a walk and it was 68, and I was wearing a full set of long underwear, a full sweatsuit, and a thick hoodie. The next day, I dressed in shorts and a t shirt, got outside and was set to start walking my way back to health, only to get hit by a strong, cold wind. Even then, I was going to try for at least one lap, but as I got near the edge of the covered patio, I started getting pelted with rain, and decided I could wait till the weather was warm and dry, rather than go and try for my 4th case of pneumonia.
I can say that I have never planted a tree, I honestly never thought to. I used to keep my tree seeds in the junk storage. This makes collecting wood a lot easier.
My eyes hurt on a bright and sunny day, so I kind of need to plant some just to have shade to work/play in. My Crafting Base is not in that video, as it is behind the trees. The Farming Base, is right next to the Crafting Base, and has it's own trees. The Leveling - through - Construction Base, has a partial set of trees {Snow Biome}, but the building itself is not even started as of yet.

I'll start working on the current "State of the Union" address in a bit, Horde Night got 4 videos, but they'll have to be watched privately before posting links here, I cuss a lot when the Zombies manage to hit me, lol. Which is far too often.

This is what I would refer to as a to as a tower in the middle surrounded by outer walls.

I call it a tower as I have a tall center part behind outer walls. Mine is about 2blocks high.

The full day 49 update still has not been written due to health/feeling unwell. OTOH, here is a little video that shows what I have built, and where in my current game.

This covers all major construction(s) so far.

Day 51, 1932 hrs.
Level 92, 3427 Kills.
QP 50/60.

My drone is still AWOL. I've done quests for at least the pine, burnt, desert, and wasteland biome based traders, none will sell me a drone. At this point, I am just disgusted that they are so hard to come by, and will just be "Beer Running" my way to robotics lvl 100, and just make my own, and to hell with the WHY of the drone scarcity, lol. I prepped by buying a few 'Fergetting elixirs', and will just have to use one each time I want to max out Intellect/Intellect Mastery level 3, for the combined 100% chance to get 2 for 1 when reading. I didn't want to do this, but enough is enough when it comes to not having my trusty, flying little storage box/sidekick. If I manage to build my lvl 6 drone before HN 8, so be it, but if not, then beer runz will continue until I can.

I MUST have my sidekick!

I did HN 7, and managed to get it recorded into 4 videos, and they took some time to upload even in the smaller MP4 format. A friend helped me see how to properly arrange them In my playlist, so we will see if that one link will allow folks to see the whole thing.

That being said, keep in mind that the little digital dude is being controlled by a guy with brain and nerve damage, and that when I am feeling unwell (as I was when I played this), my brain is fuzzy, my fingers twitch, and my eyes loose not just focus, but depth perception.

By request, Horde Night 7.

Enjoy, laugh, mock, or just shake your head sadly. For those that want to, ask question/offer suggestions.

I have no Idea why anyone would make fun of a disabled vet. I have a below knee amputation (right foot) and its a bummer at times. I have to use a left foot gas pedal to drive, because of the luck of losing my right foot and not my left.

I seen what you have been working on, and I have to say, I hope you turn on respawns on death! Please do not lose your work. I could not imagine it. I am playing Far Cry - The original 2004 game, and I decided to turn up the difficulty and its getting so frustrating dealing with practical impossible combat and having to reload all the time and hope I get lucky. if you are playing to build things in game, like me, I would never turn on dead is dead. But its up to you.

As far as bloodmoon, you should try taking 3 learning elixirs if you can. Any more experience you can get the better. Also you could try some ranged weapons as well. You really don't need a headshot every time like I try to do. The shovel is a bit weird, but strangely looks effective. I like to have a bandage and a jar of honey in my quick slots, you do not have to open the inventory to use them.

I just finished watching it and I am impressed and do not know why you worry about what people would think about it.

That's crazy! One of my playthroughs I'm just short of 47 hours, level 183 (server is 300% exp), 6,966 kills, 168/210 quest progress. And I spent most of that playthrough without any points in combat perks, and restricted myself to not using guns or explosives.

On average that's about 148 kills per hour for me, and 1.77 kills per hour for you. ~83x difference
And that's almost 4 levels per hour for me, and over 21 hours per level for you. ~5.5x difference
I won't assume what exp rate you're currently playing with, but if I was playing at roughly 50% exp rate I'd be leveling about as fast as you are.

How are you able to play so slowly?

No, actually I got my math wrong on the hours/level. It's actually ~82x difference. Much more closely matches the kills/hour ratio.
By that ratio and that timescale, we're talking about if you were playing at 100% exp rate, and I was on 2% exp rate, I'd still end up leveling faster.

What are you using for his hours? Day 51, level 92, even 2h / day, that's a level per hour?
Oh ... that 1932 is just "military time" ... 19:32.
Oh, haha. Yeah my bad.
That makes it much more reasonable if he's only 50.5 hours in (1 hour days).

Only ~x2.15 difference and ~x2.18 difference, respectively.

I'm playing 2 hour days, so about 100 hours into this playthrough. I'm, playing 100% xp, so either I triple my level, or we chop yours down to 1/3. In essence, I'd be level 276/183, or 92/61. Either way, the math comes out with you leveling faster, but not all that much, lol.

Yeah, makes a lot more sense being 101 hours than 1932, haha. ~x1.43, ~x4.36. Just means you're avoiding combat and questing lot more than I do.

It's been interesting reading this thread over the last few weeks, seeing how others play and their expectations.

Idk how my stats measure up but i just finished the 4th horde so its the start of day 21 for me. By the end of the night the zombies broke through all 6 pieces of steel blocks between my fighting position and them, 300% zombie block damage is no joke and has me concerned for how i will deal with demo's when one eventually goes off.
Given that it felt like at least 40% of the horde were charged and infernals, it thankfully seems i am reaching the limit on zombie scaling so things are about as hard as they will ever be.

Level 56, Gamestage 328, 2194 kills, quest progression 94/100

Day 5 horde was Forest, Day 10 Burnt, day 15 Desert and just now day 20 Snow. So unless the next three tier 4 quests go horribly wrong, the horde for day 25 will be a Wasteland showdown.
Current goals are to finish tier 4 in the snow, get fortitude from 6 to 10 so i can get the +100 hp from fortitude mastery's 9 and 10 for survivability, and pack up my base to move to the wasteland to start working on tier 5 quests.

Day 25 Wasteland horde complete: Level 72, Gamestage 607, 3704 kills, quest progression 127/150

Its the morning of day 26 and i power spiked to the moon in the last 5 days. Went from being constantly manhandled by the zombies to obliterating them with ease, +100 max hp changes everything.

Moved to the wasteland and began tier 5 quests, however i was struggling hard. The zombies managed to break my bones 15 times in a single poi, i went through 10 medkits, 15 first aid bandages, every scrap of healing i carry on me and only barely cleared Army base 7 with 40 health remaining. I could not wait for levels to max fortitude and decided to forgettin elixir my way out of the 9 points to max packmule and put them into fortitude mastery.
The difference was immediate, no more broken bones, no more 70 max hp due to injuries. I laughed my way through the next four tier fives.

And the horde? A joke. Day 20 snow horde i got 5 lootbags. Day 25 wasteland? Almost a hundred. Had to run back and forth from my gyro 4 times. The game sent everything it had at me, Chucks, desert rangers, demolishers and mutated galore. They say when it rains it pours and by god i swear there was hail in there at some point. Zombies poured from above into my fighting position like a tidal wave of dead, and i greeted them with death in turn.

Amusingly the game sent so many desert rangers at me i got two of the beeswax loot bags, so now i am 2/5 beeswax towards a beehive.

Current goals: Complete tier 5 and 6 while gaining levels until i can afford the spare points to invest in mining skills, then consider ending the run rather than do any mining. Will see how the joys of slaughtering holds up vs the impending dread of having to dig holes.

Finally, the mutated zombies are constantly spawning around my base and have devastated the landscape. Every single one of their projectiles one shots the wasteland terrain. Without guns to shoot them down they destroy more and more before i can whack them to death.

I was wondering why in your video the demolisher turned from green to red and did not explode. I thought if you killed the demolisher that they would explode anyway if they turn red. Maybe I missed something, I don't know.

I have decided to play out the nest bloodmoon (bloodmoon 33) at my base differently. I have kept them from the inner area that has all the blade traps, so I am going to let them breach the first wall and see if they can survive the blade traps and shotgun turrets. I guess they call this AFK, I don't know, I just know my base is way overkill. In all previous bloodmoons I still fight and spent over 3000 rounds of 7.62 and 30 frag rockets keeping them from breaching the outer wall.

Problem is, I am bored and for the first time I have been playing I just want to fast forward to bloodmmon. I have boatloads of ammo and my forges are filled full of every resource, I do not need to really do anything. I guess I could go wrenching and do a bunch of tier 4 quests.

Its day 229 and bloodmoon 33 is day 23. I can't wait.
