PC Don't like it? Stop complaining, go play something else...

The problem isn't the positive or negative feedback. The problem is the people that react to that feedback with such anger.

Dammit, that image of SG sent a burst of nostalgia of tv shows from the era. I miss Lexx lol!

RICP,if this thread and some of your overboard comments don't earn you a private warning from a moderator I'm going to be upset.
Such hyperbole. I would be absolutely astounded if there is anything I have written that was unreasonable, let alone worthy of a warning.

You've also incorrectly paraphrased me, allow me to amend:

"If you don't like the game and your only response is to post self indulgent diatribes, then you really should step back from the game until that rhetoric can be expressed in a more constructive manner."

I get the paradox of "complaining" about "complainers", but some of the commentary that has been flying about has really been a bit beyond the pale.

I'm actually re-watching the entire SG-1 series right now on Flixify.

[it's ten times better than Netflix and costs the same.]

I'm on season two I think.

Still love that show!

I miss Lexx...
Wow...I rarely hear anyone else say that. What an incredible show. 1/3 Lost In Space, 1/3 Rocky Horror Picture Show and 1/3 Hellraiser. How I'd love to see more of those.

I get your frustration in that regard.

I completely agree that the whining is annoying and tiresome [to put it politely.]

I have to wonder, however, what you hope to achieve with this thread.

Those same whiners tend to mostly be teenage boys and they aren't known for backing down from a challenge.

You just threw down the gauntlet.

I worry that this thread will only make things worse.

Honestly, this board has become more toxic than ever since A17. I'm sorry to say, the majority of the toxicity is not from people attacking the game. It's from people attacking other people. Feel free to disagree with someone's opinion, but when you do it with such hostility you are exacerbating the problem.

It's going to be a long time before we see anything like that again.

Now everything has to inject forced agendas and sacrifice story line and anything worth watching.

You see what Netflix is doing to the Witcher series?

Makes me really sad to see that politics have so thoroughly taken a hold of entertainment and media.

Some things, like Herbert's Dune or Babylon 5, thrive on politics of course, but they're interesting....alien politics (even if there are strong metaphors). It's gotten to the point that I'd just rather watch some "guy-in-a-rubber-suit" movie rather than deal with anything trying to be "intellectual" anymore.

I'm not sure Lexx was intellectual, but it was a damn well done ride thrown off the tracks a bit by Farscape.

Speaking of derailment... apologies to the OP.

Unlike alot of people I am generally pretty happy with a17e, it does need a balance pass though for sure and that is coming, i've not personally come across alot of the issues people seem to have. My games performance is the same in a17e as it was in a16.4, In fact in some cases its better in a17e than a16.4. Structures collapsing used to take my fps from 60 down to single digits in a16.4 even if it was a small POI, in a17e I see poi's get leveled due to rwg gen bugs like they get spawned with a air block under em, and ya know what? it doesn't even hurt my fps at all anymore.

Most of the issues I have tend to be with crafted/found items not having the proper amount of mod slots, like I made a tier 5 steel fireaxe/pickaxe and neither of them had any mod slots.

The level gating for the crafting perks I am fine with. Along with the gating for stuff like healing factor. However some perks like pack mule, and the power atk block damage, and the resources gained from mining etc, shouldn't really be level gated. Ore is much harder to find in a17e so far, I get most of my iron from scraping junk I find, and from surface boulders. Haven't found a single lead deposit yet, or oil shale for that matter. I used to get enough to go on from surface deposits but they don't seem to exist now.

I did finally figure out how to see what your actual damage and block damage is on a item, you have to go into the mod window, then look at the data on the mod window. I found the power atk block damage listed there matches exactly with what I actually deal with the sledge, it also factors in stats/perks there. I guess the weap itself lists its base stats with mods, then in the mod window it lists the actual stats with stats/perks factored in. Some of the math is broken though, like its not adding up correctly, power attack block damage from Miner 69'er being a big culprit of this. says mine is 160 ish, when I have lv 4 miner 69'er which should essentally double it, on top of stat block dmg mods. so it should really be well over 220+ with the mods/stats I got.

This gif is pretty much how I think of others opinions compared to my own, I don't really care what you think, all in all its TFP's game and we are just the players. People also seem to be completly forgetting about how the game is made to be modded, you can probally find mods to fix a lot of things you dislike easly. One thing I am strongly against personally is mods that mistake adding more pointless grind as "challenge", sorry but making things much more annoying to craft doesn't add challenge, it just adds more grind.

P.s. I wanted to use this gif as my avatar, but sadly it won't let gif's play.

One of the reasons I loved wathching Star Trek DS9 was for the politics.

I freaking loved it!

Just when it was getting really good they cancelled the show. What a shame.

I think today it would do much better.

Game of Thrones is a testament to that.

Is the whole thread not backseat moderatoring ? ^^

I can give you some metrics

So now we have backseat moderators complaining about backseat moderators who are complaining about complainers.

Meta just got real.

IDK I think it has more to do with:

Ppl opening threads and for some reason can't be critical about aspects of the game without falling into Hyperbole and personal attacks and slights against those who made the game, which basically turns their post into nothing more then a bland rant, which diminishes it's purpose to begin with.

Then if someone disagrees with them (even without any slights against them), they and others immediately attack those who disagrees, with personal insults as well.

Then, their posts inevitably gets attacked in kind by others, because why not! The posts they are responding to, didn't care about how they insulted anyone to begin with either so.. <shrug>

Rinse/Repeat

The thread spirals and cycles back-n-forth.

Because drama..
