A super good compromise to make everyone happy would be to have the HP Bar be a toggle option in the ESC / Main menu. So the elitists have their hardcore mode and the casuals have their hp bar
+1, they should give the option to remove it

Regards,

A17: Enemy HP bar added to HUD.... but why? This is not an acarde game !!!
Because bosses can have thousands of HP, how do you know if they are close to death or not? Arcade games aren't the only types of games with life bars. RPGs, etc. all have life bars. I'm not against it. I'm sure TFP will likely include an option to turn it off.

First I don't really like the idea of group quests, they just separate the player base in people who can and can't do them and feel so MMO-like "You must play together now, join a guild, dammit"
But ok, if you must:

1) The best way to make a group necessary is a bunker with a door you only can open when 2,3,4... switches are thrown simultaneously. Or pressure plates. Apart from just digging through a single player can do these quests as well if you drop the "simultaneous" requirement.

2) The group stands before 3 doors that open to 3 rooms. When the doors open, a voice says "Self destruct sequence commencing. 99, 98... In each room is part of the puzzle to deactivate the sequence, for example in one room the handbook, the next room has an access to the energy generator through a maze of rooms and the last room has a map of the installation. If they don't succeed, all the cool stuff in the bunker is destroyed by the explosion

3) Instead of a self destruct of a bunker this could also be an ICBM launch bunker. You would accidentally reactivate the start sequence of a rocket but the lid is still closed. If you don't turn it off, the rocket will explode inside and destroy the valuable loot as well.
Lol...love it. Any situation where it’s one person’s fault if nobody gets anything is pretty hilarious. I can just imagine Neeb and co...

Here’s what I’ve been able to see from team chatter:

Someone is working on a way for players to join a party for a quest and quests are being designed to hijack and change conditions of POIs once they are activated. So it sounds as though Quests will be able to be tailored for parties of 1+ which would keep them viable for single player.

Well now... That's just like having your blueberry pie and eating it too! Great.

I very much like the idea of quests tied into dungeon type POI's, if I have understood that concept correctly...

If the new system is flexible enough to give different experience to players, depending on party size (or general players in vicinity), well that would simply be epic!

So much potential...

I will say that it's a bit hard to give good angles to the devs, with so scares information on the new quest system. Not to mention the buff system... (No shameless begging for info on the subjects intended).

Have these new system been given names, by the way?

Just wondering... Hardly gameplay reviling... ;)

Well, perhaps the other side are just less vocal about it... ;)
I like the healthbar.

At the very least, it's much better than:

Wiki filled with zombie health stats/mechanics, and then calc yourself.

But I like it regardless.
Well you see I never went to a wiki filled with zombie health stats/mechanics and calculated myself. I just fought the things, died a few times, and eventually got good at it. I greatly prefer this method, fight it, get your ass kicked, develop a new strategy, fight again, repeat. It makes more sense for your character to learn this way rather than find some magical power armor capable of instantly knowing an enemy's exact health.

I’m about to provide you with exclusive behind closed doors information on the official names of these two systems. Folks with mobile devices who can’t open spoilers...too bad.

1) The Buff System

2) The Quest System

I know...we love our code names...

Yoooooou! That's me 😬...

Good thing there's a workaround ;) .

Ok ok... There were a chance of some info... You never know, right...

Sure... There's that...

I never really had an issue with it myself, to be honest.

They take more damage = They must have more life.

Doesn't really matter... It has to die anyway.

But the same can be said with the healthbar. Doesn't really matter...

I just like HUD info in general...

Damn that's a lot of info... you sure you wont get in trouble for releasing that much?

My main issue is that i'm gonna have to go in and edit XMLs to remove it, i'd be fine if it was an option (Preferably server option) so I can turn it off.

I’m seeing more and more power armor references regarding the HUD these days. Makes me feel warm.

That, or I pissed myself. (No bladder bar...)

I think in survival games there should be less HUD info. Especially when facing an enemy. When you know when to run or when to fight, it removes the survival instinct. Maybe just put HP bars on bosses...Although, I would not prefer it myself.

Well... Maybe your concern will be heeded, or you may get used to it.

It could also be, that it's needed for, as yet, revealed content. (Here's hoping).

Power armour you say...

I wonder if this is really real, or if it's a famous Roland troll.

You trickster, you :)

Haha. You clever guy. Someone pour me a beer. This guy is brewing.

As the game is officially magic based, the answer to why your character can see enemy heath is obvious!

Your character used a Harry Potter magic wand suppository! Because when you got a stick up your butt, you know everything!

Who can say what powers a person would have, if that stick up their butt was magical?

I think that making this health bars is just waste of development time. Nobody wants game turn into some FallOut based RPG. That 4WD car should get bigger priority. Im so much hyped for it!!

Fixed it. Wasn’t trying to troll. I was just noting the less is more attitude...

Welcome to the 7daystodie forum and be warned anything can happen here.

1. development of new ideas and restructure is not a waste of development... regardless if we like or dislike something (the game is not out of development yet and anything can be added or taken out).

2. "Nobody wants game turn into some Fallout based RPG"? betcha there are a lot of people here who may want just such a thing. it can be asked and you can see by the threads here that 50 different people will want 50 different styles/variations of the game.

3. Heads Up... things can change but MM said in one of his recent videos that the car is a place holder as the 4WD is a truck/SUV type vehicle not a car... (but i said things can change).

enjoy your stay. :)
