Question****If zombie disappears, and a bag is left, only if there was loot, can it be made to leave

a bag with a percentage of arrows if they were used? It could be tied to the scavenge skill

to increase probability.

I ask this because unless at a distance killing solely with a bow, if you use melee you more

than likely will destroybody on last hit, like MM was doing.
Don't worry, you can retrieve arrows on zombies before they are dead. That can make some fun gameplay: "Here is one arrow, go kill this zombie with it" There should be some extra damage to the zombie if you pull an arrow from him while he's still alive.

White Knights: "It's Early Access! It's Alpha! Where there are bugs and feedback!"
Also White Knights: "If you don't like it, get @#$%ed! Feedback is verboten!"
Black Skullduggers: "I haven't even played it nor do I know what the final state will be, but I'm going to rage about how much I hate it!"

Also Black Skullduggers: "TFP never listens to me and my opinion represents everybody's point of view! Do it my way!"

It's amazing to see so many people actively fighting against the idea of community feedback.
As you can see by my interpretation of the complainers' posts, it isn't opposition to feedback so much as the quality of that feedback. Seriously, how can somebody give feedback on something that they haven't even tried/experienced? How can you give feedback on something when you don't even know the whole story?

Edit: Looks like Matt 1977 beat me to it...

Do you think it will be somehow different when they release it? Dream on...
Not that it will be different (though it might be), but that it might not have the effects on your gameplay that you think. I guess I have a tendency to trust experts (TFP as the game designers, in this instance). I may not think that I will like the red couch in my living room, but the interior designer knows a helluva lot more about that stuff than me. Experts aren't infallible, but they probably know more than me.

*cue "nobody tells me what I will or won't like"*

Been around for awhile even before making a account and finally posting. From what I have seen I don't think it is as much as being against community feedback as much as it is the feedback that comes along with all the negative and rage that I want it this way, you ruined this game and I'm done with this game type feedback.

Also think that those that been around for a long time even the beginning know that they can't please everyone so TFP have to go in a direction that some and sometimes many will not agree with. This is why some are ok with that because they know they can mod and make changes themselves.

You saw the same video I did, didn't you?

The response from the community has been overwhelming. If that's not enough for you, I guess you just don't believe in community feedback. There are players just like that in every gaming community, and they cause problems wherever they go.

Which is where the White Knights arrive. They arrive to defend the innocent, to prevent the virgin from being sullied, or whatever. We're not here with pitchforks. We've been playing this game for literally years. We've been with TFP alpha after alpha. We're not here to burn the place down. We just want to be heard.

"But where muh rotten flesh and bones!" :playful:

Less loot on zombies:

  • Maybe the loot bags actually have more "needed" loot?
  • Maybe the loot bags represent the average of what 10 zeds worth of loot will be in it? Just going off of what Kinyajuu said about loot bags being around a 1 in 10 chance of dropping or something?!
  • Maybe bones produce more glue then before? If we even need them anymore.
  • Maybe rotten flesh produces more fertilizer than it did before? If we even need them anymore.
  • Maybe traders will play a bigger part and they'll have more stuff to stock up on? We are getting vehicles and traveling to trader outpost will only be that much easier.

I think some are going a little deep in the worry department is all..

To Dear @Roland

hey hey I know you hate this kind of questions and I can guess that you answered this questions probably many times but i'm so excited about a17 do you think they can fix issues before end of august or are there lots of issues?

This is why some are ok with that because they know they can mod and make changes themselves.
The amount of modified servers is also part of the feedback in a way as it represents how many people prefer something being different than the base game.

Well said

hahaha, yeah thats MM :) playing , the zombie was dead from the first arrow , congrats ;)
Anyone who has been watching MM's videos should know that his video's are always like this lol. Instead of getting really worried, how about we focus on the really cool things that were shown.

-Sticky arrows PLUS retrieval (This one is going to be huge early game especially in the new dungeon designed POIs with hundreds of dead heads waiting for you).

-Expandable backpack

-New POIs (That huge Multi POI building!!!)

-Better Texture Memory Management!!!!! Could potentially mean MORE ZOMBIES on the screen at the same time!!! This one is HUGE!

He wasn't sure. You can say he's rusty, but I have played this game for a long time and I wasn't sure at that point either.

agree on despawning zombies but about arrow loot - i play on insane, no airdrops, 25% loot and modded gamestage.xml, am always low on arrows, you, obviously, never even thought to make your game more interesting with settings.
next time try playing with 25% loot and you will love new arrow addition, is that need to be locked behind a certain skill? do you need a skill to pull out arrow from dead body? if so then yeah, let's make another skill point waster ;)
You are talking about a custom setting.

Important for a game is first of all to balance it for a "default" setting.

Besides: Arrows are craftable items. And even if you have a low number of them (cost of crafting), retrieving them 100% would still lead to an inflation in their numbers. So there needs to be a mechanic that wastes a portion of them. (Its not practical too have a separate durability for each arrow).

That can be a dedicated mechanic (% of arrows that can be plugged out), or an emergent mechanic (missing arrows fly off, and it is too cumbersome to find them again).

When plugging them out of a zombie, there should be some "break" or "success" notification. That could be a sound effect or visual hint.

You're the first person I've seen on the entire forums that wanted that change, if indeed you're being honest. This constant procession of "it's their game, their vision, to hell with your feedback" posts really and truly amazes me. I've never in my life seen a community go into such a stockholm syndrome mode. Wow.
Thing is right now our feedback is worth ♥♥♥♥. And until we have A17 under our hands TFP won't actually take it seriously. After that who knows, but they are still experimenting on what works and what doesn't. They do indeed need our feedback to know, but after we have actually played it.

Remember the sticks and sharpened rock gate? Nearly everyone was against it, but now there is only Guppy who still miss it.

Wait, there is a friends only option? I haven't played SP in a while so is this new?
yes as Roland explained when it was adopted... but people flew off the bat..

its as easy as 1...2...3...

you either choose a 1 player game (not listed and 1 player) even if you just choose 1 player and public, only you will be allowed in it.

if you want just your friends they have to be your friends in steam and they will be the only ones to see your game and you choose how many too.

if you want your game public... well its self explanatory now after i explained the first 2 choices.

does this help <rubs Gam behind his ears to calm him down> :)
