You've clearly never been in one of the early model HMMWV's, have you...More like different kinds of recipes for the same vehicles.
Glue, fiber, metal pipe, and cloth....presto! A 4x4.

My idea is partly to have vehicles that double as your home for players who prefer a nomadic play style as apposed to bunkering down in one place. And partly to have a mobile spawn point when scavenging many miles away from home.

with a terrible experimental? what does that even mean lol oh you mean bugs isn't that why call experimental ? to find it and fix it till its stable?T-Minus 25 days til TFPs disappoint - either with a terrible experimental build or more delays.
I don't know about everyone else, but at first thought - I love this idea! Not sure what I think about the spawn idea. Almost seems like cutting corners a bit. There should be risk of being miles away from your bed making you triple think decisions when you are far away because if you die you have one hell of a hike to get back to your stuff. For me, that is a part of the game that makes strategy and risk more exciting. I would probably forego the bed idea, but other than that - f-ing amazing. I would go more with a food truck style though to be more acceptable in my mind with having a campfire and forge in the back. I have a truck and no way a camp fire would work in the back of a moving truck bed... I guess this is more of a question of reality vs. immersion though so could work for most people. There was a pimp dreams thread about the trucks with beds and forges 5 months ago.

Is this what people were thinking of?
Hell yeah... Listening to it now while posting... Good call on posting the link. It's fittingGood song.
I’d make a winnebago, put it on cruise control and go back and make a coffee. I’m sure I saw that on the Darwin awards somewhere...a mobile base would be cool and all, but it would have so many cons....like in sp you could just avoid everything. then in pvp you can stash your base and raid someone indefinitely. I think it's a cool idea, but it can go wrong too

Oh come on now, that's just... not a bad idea, actually. Kinda wish I'd thought of it.Why not make the Jeep Solar Powered? require a solar cell and a couple batteries in place of gas? fast battery drain at night and medium drain in the rain(less than sunny conditions). this would disable the vehicle as an easy horde runner, and make things exciting while swapping batteries on horde night.
You'd need an awful lot of solar panels to trickle-charge a battery large enough to power a jeep in under a week. Why not make the Jeep Solar Powered? require a solar cell and a couple batteries in place of gas? fast battery drain at night and medium drain in the rain(less than sunny conditions). this would disable the vehicle as an easy horde runner, and make things exciting while swapping batteries on horde night.
"They probably will die from a heart attack from the surprise and leave their wife and children to starve to death in poverty".That's the spirit!A pessimist only ever experiences positive surprises! =P
Sea gulls could disable your car irl, you know ..sea gull..food..*oop..front window..while driving..wipers..mess.. Happened to me once and it was not adventure at all. I was afraid if the animal was okay after the splash.seems to me someone said earlier that cops vomit should disable vehicles for a while... that would be funny.
