Not sleepers. I think they an include timers on some blocks or events. So if you happen to be in the area for awhile have zombies start spawning in your vicinity, similar to a screamer spawn. If you're just passing through and don't stop they would not spawn.you mean street sleepers?
It's painful for you to watch someone avoid zombies by using holes and being underneath them, but you cry for more storage? balance my man. balance.I hear feel your pain. It would be nice in the meantime if they compartmentalized the storage to compensate for the fact you cannot pick up passangers. Think about it... x amount of storage in the back and x amount of storage on the passanger seat. At least a little extra storage room would help soften the blow of not being able to ride with a buddy. Big bonus for being able to access that passanger seat storage unil multiple passangers is acivated.
Just some thoughts for the dev team to create some "alternative" bonus to the 4x4.
Possible or not, I think your second idea is genious. Think of how satisfying it would be to see the final product... but you have to to gather a bunch of tires, scrap them down to tire scraps. In the forge or (less believable) the workbench, melt the rubber to combine all the tire scraps, pour the rub in a cast for off-roading tires. Then walk over to your chassis with the tires, mechanical parts, and the iron you melted down into an axel and use a wrench repeatedly and tires start to appear one step at a time... axel, roters and breaks, then eventally tires.I wonder if it would be possible to make a workstation that disappears after a single crafting? That way you could make a workstation that looks like a chassis (and is crafted with the same components you would use for the chassis). Then you would open the "chassis" and craft the rest of the components together to form the vehicle. Once the crafting timer runs out you get a vehicle and the chassis is gone.
Or
I wonder if it is possible to make blocks be upgradeable into entities much like blocks are upgradeable into new blocks. Then you could just have the components in your inventory and beat on the base block (that looks like a chassis) with a wrench and it would upgrade through a few textured block phases until it reaches its final state which is the complete 4x4 entity. So...upgrading instead of crafting.
Don't know if any of that is remotely possible.
im sick of seeing floating bases using draw bridges -.-;BTW, I am not sure if floating Base will be possible with A17, Hope you understand what I mean. is any work is done in that regard, or will ever be done for that ? I understand that maybe due to complexity of real world physics it won't be solved anytime soon or ever. Just asking.
The drama queen, troll award goes to you, sir... I was not crying for more storage - just supported a possible idea that was being thrown around. Think about it, once multiple people can ride in the 4x4, you have essentially gained extra storage anyways because of the passanger's inventory. Have you ever played Project Zomboid? You can "set stuff down" in the front passanger seat like food and ammo for easy access. It's painful for you to watch someone avoid zombies by using holes and being underneath them, but you cry for more storage? balance my man. balance.
I think being able to upgrade your backpack would be awesome though limited storage is a crunch in this game when your traveling. The drama queen, troll award goes to you, sir... I see myself being more of an adventurer in a 4x4 vs. having a main base... Knowing what traders have what benches... Maybe creating a minibase here and there for different purposes like ammo making. Being able to set things on the passanger seat just makes sense. Even if it is just 4-5 inventory slots that can be accessed while you are in your vehicle.
Instead of pooping on someone's thoughts, maybe try asking for clarification? Otherwise you are just a troll.
I do agree there should be different kinds of backpacks (upgrades) in the game with varying storage sizes, but I think the current size should be the largest. It would be awesome to see school backpacks, hiking backpacks, and military packs (maybe the old vietnam era Alice Pack).I think being able to upgrade your backpack would be awesome though limited storage is a crunch in this game when your traveling.
If we can’t place a forge or workstation in the back of the 4x4 I will uninstall.I will not be surprised if 4x4's become the new "Underground forts" of A17 to defeat the 7 day hordes. It can smash through most things so getting stuck should not be a thing if you focus a bit.
Its OK by me, no one said we have to do it there way... OK, maybe some did, but no ones paying them too much attention I think. Its survival so, survive!![]()
I think there can be enough balancing with the 4x4 to make this a less appealing strategy. I think the 4x4 should take on damage. Once the front spikes are gone (from damage) every impact has a chance to stall/break the engine requiring you to get out and repair. Maybe every zombie you hit slows you down a bit... run into a crowd and you are at a dead stop allowing them to surround you and hit you from the (always open) side windows along with damaging your truck.I will not be surprised if 4x4's become the new "Underground forts" of A17 to defeat the 7 day hordes. It does have a little steampunk vibe to it which I actually kind of like. It is a bit out of place when you look at everything else in the game, but maybe this is a slight change in direction TFP is taking the game. Remember the junkyard traitor concept art with the school buses and clutter creating the walls? The 4x4 definitely fits in with that vibe. Also, put the motorcycle and the truck next to each other. They definitely look like they both belong to the same game. I would like to see more design around the steampunk-style... especially in the desert for a Mad Max-type feel.Does anyone think the new vehicles look a bit "radical"? I suppose it's for eye candy but it just looks very off to me. I was really expecting a farmers truck or old Hilux of some sort... same with the chopper :apathy: well unless they're place holders
That goes without saying! If we can’t place a forge or workstation in the back of the 4x4 I will uninstall.

I agree. Taking damage, higher gas consumption, louder noise awakens more zombie, stuff like that would help. But its pretty unstoppable from what I've seen.I think there can be enough balancing with the 4x4 to make this a less appealing strategy. I think the 4x4 should take on damage. Not sure if there are planned features like this to balance it out, but there should be things in place to deter people from using the vehicle as a single solution to the zombie apocolyps.
