I do appreciate when prefabs have a bit of yard or surroundings to them. It makes them look a bit more natural and less like the house (or whatever) just dropped out of the sky and probably squashed a witch on the way down. Of course, the RWG socket system doesn't exactly integrate POIs naturally into the surroundings, but I'd rather have a weird-looking flat place than a building that's somehow sticking sideways out of a hill.

If you tried to do it today Amazon have been having quite a few issues with their servers.
https://slashdot.org/story/18/07/16/1929252/amazon-suffers-glitches-at-the-start-of-prime-day
I noticed the server issues (they made me miss out on a couple of deals that I was hoping for), but this was already in my cart. It was just a matter of seeing whether there had been a price change and clicking "checkout." It told me that it couldn't be shipped to my location, then listed all of the possible reasons without saying which it was. (This may have been a server issue as well, but it's fairly different than the rest of the issues.)

The funny thing is, most players don't read these forums and they don't know what's coming. They will jump into A17 and soon discover that none of their methods work. It will be massacre...
It will also be glorious to watch them fall on their faces and rage over it. As much as I don't wanna watch A17 streams as to not spoil the new systems they been pretty quiet about other than admitting they are there. I sort of want too just to see some of them mess up as I know some streamers go into stuff blind. Its going to be fun.

Guys I came up with this idea that I think would increase the chances for zombies of getting into your base. I haven't given it much thought yet, but do you think it would work?
The gore block should be like a dirt block. It should be a full block that connects to neighbor blocks as dirt does. Multiple of them should be able to stack on top of each other. Creating a ramp that zombies can walk on.

The only differences with dirt would be texture and durabily.. and players should be slowed when walking on it, as it already is with current gore blocks.

Imagine it is horde night and you are standing on your wall shooting down zombies. If they come in large numbers they would be able to create a large pile of gore and eventually get to you.

Do you guys think this is feasible??
I remember in one alpha back when the gore blocks were in, I was camped out in a high building sniping zombies, Laughing cuz I broke the stairs, I went to check on something as I had a forge nearby to melt some iron, next thing I know I am getting hit and the back going "WTf??", So I killed it, then noticed where they were coming in from, and seen the gore blocks bascally made a ramp and they were just walking up it to get in. Needless to say I wasted some ammo to destroy those gore blocks to stop em from getting in XD.

i agree whole heartedly Silveria... it would be much better and worth it to see and hear the players who havent a clue and its those people that most likely will enjoy the changes because they didnt know things were changed. we old timers are stuck in our ways. (thats right i admitted it for myself).

i will not watch the streamers (i really dont need to) but i will watch some of the new reviews. :)

Would be nice someday. Have on my todo list, but presents more performance and memory issues to pathing system, so I'd rather wait and see that we are at a good place with A17 under heavy server load.
I am starting to wonder if alot of these "issues" is because the game has a console version. Seen alot of changes that I felt were not needed on pc, that appeared ONLY after the console versions came out.

In otherwords, don't dumb the pc version down because there is a console version, just dumb the console version down as your going to have to anyway to get it to run on them with how underpowered they are. Any game like this, fallout, elder scrolls series are always far better on pc, due to more powerful hardware and ease of modding.

+1 for negative aura's. Some mods already have bosses that debuff you.
- True that staying alive is already an incentive. But the risk / reward could be balanced better still.

I'd still think we need new zombie types though. Maybe when fighting or spawning a lot of them.... Zombies can spawn that entangle you so you can't move? Right now screamers are just exp and item farms once you get guns.

I'd like to see screamers spawn more tactical zombies. Not the HP soaking radiated cops etc. But zombies that slow you, that stun you from a range. Zombies that leap at you. etc etc.
We do need new zombies, I'd like more zombies with special abilities. Fast ones, ones that can jump, maybe a stealth one thats noticable by a chromatic shimmer around it? I mean the story is that they bascally nuked the area around navesgane, so the radiation should be mutating some stuff. We don't need to 100% follow zombie lore because imo that is boring.

I have at times got 3 per game day in a sp game (vanilla). Sometimes it can even spawn just right, that the last wandering horde time cycle spawn stops and the new one begins right at that time, to make it appear like 4 happened in one day time frame.
In a few MP games (vanilla) I had, Me and the Wife would get a dbl wandering horde spawn, One for me and one for her, while we were in the same area. We have had 6 wandering hordes in one day as well since we are mostly in the same area while playing.
Funny you should mention that at this time...son got a wild hair to play 7 Days this last weekend, and at least twice he got what he called a "double day horde" just moments after surfacing from our hidey-hole. Walking, so not really that dangerous, but it blew his self-invented myth that he'd only see one wandering horde a day. No idea where he got that idea from.

I look forward to a17 because night 14 was an extreme yawn-fest from 12:30 to dawn for no apparent reason. Full-on waves, then absolutely nothing. Not even stragglers. A couple stilts between two trees with frames as platform and I don't think they managed to seriously damage any stilt pieces. That'll be a deathtrap in a17. On the other hand, had a daytime wandering horde start in at about 4:05, right after son disconnected and I had cleaned up the remains of the remains, so I was fairly exposed when I turned around to find the nearest just a few blocks away. Made the morning a little more interesting.

Well I agree that it definitely doesn't but when the game strongly incentivizes killing and looting zombies then what else do you call it? Running from kill to kill and playing first person mode pretty much places the gameplay in the fps end of the spectrum as opposed to classic survival horror. What makes it worse is that some of the loot is water, food, medicated bandages, and ammo. Hmmmm...health powerups and ammo as collectables from killing. Sounds pretty fps to me.
But whether it is the dev's intention or not it is the unintended consequence-- but I bet if we did a poll most would want to keep xp and loot drops from zombies and most would say that a big part of their gameplay is seeking out zombies and killing them. Some might even call this game a "zombie killing game".

That's why I say eliminating xp and loot from zombies would best be a mod. It won't be popular. "Why would I play a zombie killing game if there is no reward at all for killing zombies?" would probably be the first criticism posted....
Yeah, I'd vote to keep exp and loot from zombies, because to me this is a zombie killing exploration looting game... and I love it like that. I've never been much of a base builder I usually went in a hole in the ground as I CBA to make a base as it takes to long. However in A17 I will have to come out of my shell so to speak and get building as most of my old strats aren't going to work anymore from what i've read so far.

+1 vote for leaping zombies.
+1 vote for when pathing on vertical surfaces can be put in that spiders will be able to scuttle around in multiple directions.

+1 vote for 7 Days to Die having and utilizing its own zombie lore and not being beholden to any past work.
+1 vote to all 3 from me as well. If you want generic boring zombies there are many other games (or mods) that offer that.

Optimizations are never a bad thing. Not everybody is as lucky as me to have a gaming rig, all some people can afford is a potato. Should they be disregarded because they don't have a spare few hundred quid knocking about for their hobby? Would it not be the mark of a compassionate person to think of those less fortunate than themselves? Sure, have settings that allow you to push a gaming rig to its limits but you should also give those with less a chance to enjoy the good things in life.

I could have been a lot harsher with that last paragraph but I sometimes have attacks of empathy... sometimes :-)

As I have said before... if you can get it running reasonably well on a potato it should run very well on anything else.

I hope not everyone starts spamming like that. Such lack of consideration for his peers' eyes.
Very Inconsiderate Dullards Energetically Orating :-)

No offense meant, I couldn't come up with a better acronym.
