Screamer hordes spawn in a circle around you and move inward. That's why you can sometimes get spawns inside your base if the circumference of that circle around you intersects with your base when the screamers do their summoning spell. I wonder if the spawning rules for screamer hordes vs wandering hordes are visible and the screamer horde rules could be duplicated for wandering hordes.
I've been thinking more about this idea and more hide events in general... What if bringing down a building, a car exploding, etc. caused a massive screamer type horde to converge on the point of the sound... kind of like the screamer horde, but closer to the size of the wandering horde. To accommodate hide size limit, the code could look something like this (not a modder so bare its me)

Sleeper zombies despawn

Aggravated horde spawns moving towards point of noise (360 degree spawn around)

*after x amount of time or x amount of zombies left respawning sleeper zombies.

This could add a new event, but keep the zombies on map to a realistic size by temp removing sleepers and adding them back in. Thoughts?

 
It's hard coded. You'd need to dive deeper in the code to change it. RNGesus loves you if you are only getting 1 per day :angel:

Maybe it also depends on the number of players how many you see.

If you were 4 players in the same place each getting 3 wandering hordes per day you would get a wandering horde every 5 minutes. That doesn't fit my observation.

Leads me to suspect that the 3 wandering hordes per day might be divided among the players. So with 3 players you actually would get 1 horde per day

And my whife constantly smacks me on my backhead... damm outch

I have at times got 3 per game day in a sp game (vanilla). Sometimes it can even spawn just right, that the last wandering horde time cycle spawn stops and the new one begins right at that time, to make it appear like 4 happened in one day time frame.

In a few MP games (vanilla) I had, Me and the Wife would get a dbl wandering horde spawn, One for me and one for her, while we were in the same area. We have had 6 wandering hordes in one day as well since we are mostly in the same area while playing.

i had to replace all skillets/fryers with aluminum... the bumps from cast iron skillets blows were taking forever to go down.

but that too was a mistake as now she can swing faster with the aluminum pans. :(

Aluminum/aluminium have so much perks. It`s inventors never expected that in cooking it will add +3 attack speed.

Please no! POI zombie spawning scramble is already irritating enough. Take three steps and you get a different zombie in a slightly different location that it was a minute ago. Can't imagine what would happen if they started despawning/respawning on purpose.

 
Yea, I know I won't get real answers until stable is released but seems a lot of the custom prefab are going to need retooling after the release. With original poi's being replaced and some of the videos MM has released showing new crate styles, moldings, and paints I am curious how many old items are going bye bye and how many new ones are coming in to play.

Bummer about the retooling but so excited for building possibilities. I hope at least one of the streamers do a feature show case of paints and blocks!

One thing I would like is, if they made all the prefabs with a little bit of a yard all the way around them. So that way the rwg doesn't place them right on the edge streets. If town's cities have a sidewalk, bonus!

grats on the 4k purchase and strange on why they wouldnt either, i only bought 2 so i know there are still plenty unless the prime day messed things up. but might depend on where you are... i gave link to someone else and they cant even see the product.

hmm shows in stock and they raised the price for the the prime day special sale. :)

Makes me wonder if the shoulder thing he was talking about might be part of that? I would assume with static maps such as Naz it wouldn't be too hard but coding it into city/town hubs might be a tab rough. Your solution might be best. If all else fails I might retool them for the server I help with using your method.
