While I have been aware of various harvesting techniques... (although still a noob at 3500+ hours...)

using the hoe is by design to help increase the yield (depending on ground cultivation methods as Sillls explained). it is by design (not a mod) and i found out the hard way, i reported it as a bug and was kindly reminded its not a bug.
so here is a very brief video i just did in a16.4b4 showing how the simple method works.

Tested corn at the farm and found a change. I was able to use the hoe to make map placed corn go from one to three ears of corn.

No change to seeds though.

 
Why did you change the estimated release date, Roland? Did I miss some dev communication?

It was always end of July when Joel said "July" but I was noticing more and more posts here and on steam where people were saying things like "2 more days!!!!" and I felt I needed to clarify for those who see July 1st or even hope for a July 4th American holiday release when they see "July". The good news is we are definitely dialing in on the actual release time. The bad news is that there is at least 4 weeks to go. Best to keep expectations in the realm of truth and to avoid "Maybe its tomorrow!" posts everyday for the next month.

You know what needs to end? Not just here but in all of gaming? This idea that developers need to spend the rest of their careers working on ONE game, updating for the next 20 years. At some point the game is done. I for one cant wait to see what's next for Pimps. No company should allow ONE title to define them. I want to see what else the team can cook up.
Their preparing the game for endless mods is a gift to us. It means that 10 years from now there will always be something new or different, that you will never grow tired of playing the same game for 8 years. Isn't that exciting? To know that you can have 10 DIFFERENT experiences in a game you love? That's insane replayability. I don't know why devs moving on is so taboo today. Eventually EVERYONE owns the game. A company has to move to survive and feed their families. Pimps are ensuring that when they do we wont feel abandoned.

Myself and other modders will gladly continue to put out new and interesting things for you guys.

Agreed 100%. 7DTD will be a long lived game.The Pimps have been cutting edge with a voxel game, and I am sure they have new ideas that just won't work well in this game. I look forward to supporting and playing the next game they're dreaming up.

There was NEVER a release date it was an estimate, the word estimate was used over and over. We were WARNED it could be a bit longer.

And again People thought July, end of story. Games develop when they develop. You can set a date on anything, but when you actually test one little bug could lead to another could lead to a month of pushbacks and delays. Until the release is certified there no way to specifically say when it is done.

Every Alpha we go through this. Devs get harrassed to give a date, they ballpark it. They miss it by a little and the crowd goes wild. Which is why they don't want to give those tentative release time frames to begin with.

Im good though. RH 4 comes out next week, ill be playing that while the Pimps polish up this long awaited release. *scurries back into his cellar before his team realizes he has snuck out*

Roland, I think the poll results message above needs to be updated with green for MM gameplay right?

Feat Freeze -> Hitler Vid -> MM gameplay

Then the spider meme guy can do his thing, and it will make us feel even closer to release!

na that video wasn`t a gameplay video, it was just a showcase one. A gameplay video will be when Madmole starts from day 1 and plays till like at least day 7, without any cheats.

 
No July 4th release??? You may delay our Alpha! But you'll never take....OUR FREEDOOOOOOOOM!

That's cool , it gives me more time to blow up a small portion of our country and possibly a finger or 2 in celebrating

our nations independence! Good thing we can drive out to the Indian Reservation and the fireworks factory and get some

real fireworks! The "legal" ones totally suck...

Jax want's it late. The latter it is, the more popular his mods are. ;)

 
Agreed 100% , look how long skyrim and fallout kept going because of mods. Good game with modders that make good mods will extend any game.

Dont go there lol.... Bethesda are well known for leaving and finishing games for others to fix lol. If it werent for modders their games would be a flop. With Bethesda games modders always have fixed their games and made it so it is playable and repayable lol.

Tfp don't follow Bethesda steps lol......

To be fair people were going to freak out at 12:01am july 1st about a17 not being out.

 
Dont go there lol.... Bethesda are well known for leaving and finishing games for others to fix lol. If it werent for modders their games would be a flop. With Bethesda games modders always have fixed their games and made it so it is playable and repayable lol.
