Between now and sometime in the future! :smile-new:"...but probably not in time for A17"
Roland you might as well tell us now: When is the time A17 will be released.
You can't dance around this one so, come clean and confess.![]()
Thank God Joe! I was looking forward to A19.. Let's not ever play the game, let's guess how many pages of post we will have until A19, it will be comparable to Roland's bar that disappeared like my Behemoth :cocksure:Flash Alert...
a17 has been canceled
all reference to a17 will be stricken from the records and a19 will commence once the new foundation has been coded. expect the UN-expected in game play, 8K graphics, memory requirements so low its staggering, no disk space required as it will be played from the cloud, physics so real that when you step on a board and it breaks... your chair you are sitting in will fall apart ... thats all the hints for now so i will run and hide under my blue rock.
and for those who actually believe what i just posted.... too bad, because i am just kidding and i did make a couple people smile.oh thanks for finding my hidden colored rock

Will we modders be able to enable that feature for every zombie/animal/entity? I like the idea of having health bar not just for bosses, but for every mob, that way we also would be able to balance our custom additional weapon damage etc.So a couple of weeks ago I made some snarky remark about the HP bar and Kinyajuu messaged me. He was probably annoyed with me but was nice enough to explain. So here is the deal as of now with the HP bars.
1) It is intended to be used solely for boss battles
2) During development they put it on all entities to help with balancing weapon damage and to help in developing the bar itself.
3) It is a work in progress and they have been adjusting and developing it in anticipation of boss battles.
4) It is most likely not going to be in its finished state in time for A17 and thus will be removed for the release.
So there you have it. As of now the plan is the HP bar will not be in the game for regular zombies, animals, and vehicles. It will be implemented for bosses at some point but probably not in time for A17.
I say "As of now" because they can, of course, always change their minds and do it differently if they want.

Unknown. My guess is they will simply disable rather than remove which would make it very simple to mod in.Will we modders be able to enable that feature for every zombie/animal/entity? Well, I certainly hope they do change their minds. So a couple of weeks ago I made some snarky remark about the HP bar and Kinyajuu messaged me. He was probably annoyed with me but was nice enough to explain. So here is the deal as of now with the HP bars.

Hey Roland. I recommend that you make a link to this quote and drop it on the first page please. This question seems to come up a lot and would help to have a reference to point to. Good idea, it brings lots of posts no matter fun or serious ones. Maybe just a link of the post is enough, too.Hey Roland. Sorry I meant to say "link" not like.Good idea, it brings lots of posts no matter fun or serious ones. Maybe just a link of the post is enough, too.
+1 thisWell, I certainly hope they do change their minds.
I'm not a fan of having bosses in the game at all, but having user-interface changes when you fight one? That's just way too video-gamey for me (much more so than having the health bar appear for all zombies, which is easily justified as giving you information that your character has but due to the limits of texturing the player doesn't have).
What's next? Special boss-fight music? The game switches to a special arena for the fight? The game switches to a cut scene while the bosses do their special anime-style "power up" animations? Quick-time events to deal with their special attacks?
If we do have to have bosses inflicted on us (and obviously the devs aren't going to suddenly change their mind about putting them in just because I don't like them) can we at least have them appear with the minimum of immersion-breaking fanfare and UI changes? And make the health bar all or nothing rather than something that just appears for "special" fights?

Like in real life u mean? U cant swing a weapon lightly to conserve energy and you can't swing for a home run causing more energy use and possibly off balancing yourself? You can't possibly do those things in real life?+1 this well at least i have the choice to not do quests that build to boss fights . i wont be using "special moves/power moves "either . i know its a game but i dont have power moves or combos so i prefer not to do so in game.
You don't have power attacks or combos in real life......... Erm everyone can throw a light punch or a hard punch and equally can throw a flurry of light hits resulting in a combo.....+1 this well at least i have the choice to not do quests that build to boss fights . i wont be using "special moves/power moves "either . i know its a game but i dont have power moves or combos so i prefer not to do so in game.
