Hello. My name is Roland and I play at 25% gamma and shadows enabled. I enjoy a creepy experience when exploring a POI and going out at night. Now you know one player. And I know of no players that don't crank it up to at least 150% so that they can see in the "Dark" (which isn't dark regardless of Gamma setting).
25% gamma and shadows enabled. You can set shadows to short and turn off the shadow reflection nonsense for better performance but “shadows on” are the key to darker dark and pair that with 25% gamma and there is no way you are seeing zombies in the dark.If you can't scan an area and spot a moving figure in the "Dark" even at 100% or less Gamma with or without an HP bar.. You legit need to:
A) Get a pair of glasses.
B) Have your eyes checked because something is seriously wrong in that case.
I can spot a Zombie miles away as low as 50% Gamma. So.. Pah-lease. Less excuses. I know change is scary but.. you will probably survive as humans have ever since... the dawn of our species.
You are assuming a lot there mate. You state that we get less videos because of negative responses? Where do you base that on? Gut-feeling? Perhaps there is another reason, like the 'newly' implemented way of communication. In truth, we don't know. Therefore we should not make statements like that, and label them as 'facts'.Not sure where you get crying out of my post but whatever.
Fact is, other people constantly whining about everything thing wrong with a video when shown a "WORK IN PROGRESS" and everyone screaming when a release date gets pushed back is why we don't get as many videos and why we usually don't get even guesses for release dates. For god's sake there were dozens of posts complaining about keyboard noise on one of the first videos of MM's I ever watched. So your all's lack of understanding of what early access actually means and how the development process works is affecting my enjoyment of the forums. Given that fact I'll cry, whine, and female dog all I want. At least my crying would be about something that is actually true instead of my own lack of understanding of the processes involved.
Beware, a feature that would make us think :fat: . IMHO it is an advantage to have the option to play intelligently. If I see two cops both running towards the base, and both have already taken some trap damage from the outer perimeter- but one has lower health than the other - I would widdle down the other one so that they both die on the inner perimeter defense spikes as they approach. I don't want to have to think and play that way it would be too gamey. But, it would be silly not to do it if the bar is right in front of you..
So you never heard of computer screens being different in how they show gray scales? If you can't scan an area and spot a moving figure in the "Dark" even at 100% or less Gamma with or without an HP bar.. You legit need to:
A) Get a pair of glasses.
B) Have your eyes checked because something is seriously wrong in that case.
How would you feel if the hp bar was only visible when the zombie was injured?Someone who likes to play this way would have their experience marred by the hp bar.
Hahaha "As intended".Well now you do because i do not crank the gamma up i play the game as intended.
Yeah +1How would you feel if the hp bar was only visible when the zombie was injured?
That way it doesn't spoil the atmosphere by giving away the presence of a zed you weren't previously aware of, but it does do its job of showing you how injured the zombie you're hitting is - because "realistically" you'd be able to see the effect of your strikes, but because the changing the model/textures to represent detailed damage is too expensive you can't.
Absolutely. If TFP decides they want HP bars to be part of their game design and they don't want to offer a toggle option for them or make them a perk you must purchase-- then this would be the best compromise. Even if they do make them optional or perk-based it really makes sense to not have them appear until after the enemy is damaged-- just like blocks. How would you feel if the hp bar was only visible when the zombie was injured?

I don't crank my gamma up. Point is now moot. also normal gamma is dark for me, can't see ♥♥♥♥ at night. Must be your garbage monitor settings/garbage monitor itselfExcuse me, you can turn Gamma up to 200% and remove any kind of Darkness. Your point & logic - Completely invalid and quite wrong. There's already a setting for this.

Another fun fact: Some graphic settings don't influence game play in any measurable way, some do.Fun fact: standard settings usually don't suit the majority.

And since you play it as intended.. Man your game must look so boring and feel so bland. I actually feel sorry for you.
So let's just agree that the "as intended" has nothing to do with graphic settings. As intended is how you play the game, not what your various OPTIONS are set to because they are options. They are there so that you change them to fit your computer's specification. Nothing more and most certainly nothing less.
You have totally MISSED my point, by about a thousand miles, but thanks for trying?Excuse me, you can turn Gamma up to 200% and remove any kind of Darkness. Your point & logic - Completely invalid and quite wrong. There's already a setting for this.

So, you've never heard of computer screens having the options to adjust colour scheme, saturation, gamma, contrast and so forth?Beware, a feature that would make us think :fat: . IMHO it is an advantage to have the option to play intelligently.
