Infantry Officer ;) Have someone else carry the 240B hahaha.

Who am I kidding, we didn't have 240s yet and I was hauling a massive M16A3 around :jaded:

Don't sell yourself short! Those things are.......heavy ;)

Sure get heavy after about the first day or so... Not to mention they bang into anything and everything possible. But it always worked ;) Can't say the same for the SAW though ...

1995 in germany we had the MG3+ Replacement barrel

+ Ammo

This was ugly to carry
Now imagine that is 1(The Gun) of your 8 'Tool Belt Slots'

You can now carry 7 more of those and fill the entire backpack worth of things also and you have 7dtd.

I am glad the game is not realistic in this way. Sometime too much realism makes a game suck. This

game needs the breaks of reality it has.

If you do any kind of building at all this should be more clear. We need to be able to carry 1000s of units

of concrete mix a long way, so it is all good by me.

Nowadays we have the G36 variants. Quite a good lookin' gun, no replacement barrel needed, ammo not as heavy as what the MG3 fired, just the G36 variants most of them are quite heavy. The thing is pretty reliable and accurate tho.

. .

The one thing that really bugs me about the attachments is the magazine extender. Thats just a big nono from me. A mag system like in DayZ would be beautiful (the guns are literally the only thing DayZ is good and actually best in the market at), but a mag extender? How is that supposed to work?

My point is that we carry a lot when we go camping.

Also a grounds keeper and have used chainsaws, weed whackers and leaf blowers.

they really don't use a lot of fuel. Could go over an hour using them before having to fill up that (tiny) gat tank. A gallon of gas would last me a long time.

Secondly. I have been in the military. I carried a 239 SAW and ammo. Lighter than the 240 Bravo and it's predecessor the M-60 but it's no feather.

I agree with this wholeheartedly. When ever guns come up people start yelling about realism and their immersion.
Never mind the fact that they carry an auger, 1000s of units of gas, a chain saw, a pick axe, metal ingots to fix it, food, dozens of bottles of drinks and on and on and on.
^ Yeah exactly. *Not a gun simulator*

Cheers

I totally agree that people carry a lot when they go camping.

And grounds keepers do use all of those tools.

My point is they do not carry it all at once like in 7DtD.

I have never carried 1 gallon of gas with me in 7DtD. Unless I was running out!

You wrench one car and get hundreds of gallons.

The Saw is heavy and sits awkwardly when carried, no doubt.

I found the 240 actually is easier to carry even though it is heavier.

Not trying to pick anything with you here Sills, I promise.

My main point is that the realism card should be played very very very very very very......

rarely, because the amount of unreal things happening in this game are abundant.

Edited to add:

And they should be, on some level, unrealistic. It is a game for escaping reality and creating a 1 cubic meter wood frame that is perfectly square in all 3 dimensions at the rate of 2 per second. Not the best carpenter on the world can do that.

I thought the MG5 was replacing the MG3. G36 is only 5.56x45 whereas the MG3 and 5 are 7.62x51 and considered a MMG. The G36 originally had a crappy barrel that was too thin for sustained fire :x

How about a water pump, or something, that allows us to put that in a body of water and connect it to our base, through a system like the electric relays, or something, and have an eternal water source.

Can have filters and all kinds of things also.

I know most of the mods have working faucets and I love them! Any chance of this making it into vanilla?

Add in a piping system like wiring. Thumbs up from me! I usually make a 2x2 cistern of water inside my base for safe drinking.

Yes!

Have a pipe laying tool = Wiring Tool

Junctions = Relays

Add a pump in the body of water and a faucet in the base and BOOM you are golden.

Semi-related, it would be nice if wiring could go into a conduit (there is a conduit block I believe) so it wouldn't dangle and look stupid.

ANYTHING having to do with organizing or hiding wiring gets a +100 from me!

Sure... but how realistically could you recreate a belt of ammo like that which would both allow it to be packed back into the ammo container AND run through the gun without jamming it horribly or misfiring? :p

Probably as realistically as having a blood moon every 7 days and getting hunted by zombies with a GPS that finds me? /shrug

:)

Disintegrating metal belt links can be re-used. It's very easy and they're like puzzle pieces so it's hard to screw up :)

The conduit idea is awesome. The dangly wires always annoy me to a point of making way too many relays.
