Had a friend tell me the other day that I was wasting my land claim block by putting it in my base. He said he saves his for when he finds a chemistry station in a POI, then he uses it to steal the chem station and bring it back to his base.
I have a feeling that's more of a bug than a feature.

 
Any chance the devs will have a finished version of the FLARE creative mode dev block item? One that could generate smoke and even better, different colored smoke?

I don't understand why so many things have changed. Like the can of chilly used to be a can and now is a basic food item. Weapons are now so underpowered. I heard what you said about skill helping you. But it really doesn't take any talent to put a bullet through someone's head. One bullet in the brain would stop anyone I don't care who you are, man or zombie and a shotgun shell would take the head completely off.

Sorry to see the plains biomes go. Understand that may be boring but Arizona is filled with openness that this biome represented. It seems to take away from the feel of the game. See what I mean?

As you can see from the link. Arizona has a very diverse landscape. It would be a shame to lose this biome.

Also health. Eating still heals you some right or has that changed?

Wait, did you say that you are getting rid of the planes and the regular Forrest bioms all together?

That is terrible news. Why delete those bioms? That leaves snow burnt nuked desert and pine Forest. All but the pine Forest are terrible for starting, the temp swings are very hard and building sucks in the burnt desert and wasteland.

So basically every start you don't begin in the pine Forest is going to be miserable for new players?

 
Flashing icons in front of houses are a little to gammy in my opinion and fit with the hitpoint bar. There needs to be an option to show them or not during quests. Not my cup of coffee. Again just feedback and only my opinion. Just ask my wife, Im clearly wrong 98% of the time.

Madmole I have been playing since the earlier alphas and you guys have done a great job creating this community keeping us up to date in the forums. I think we all miss your regular posts, but life hits and thanks for taking time to make the videos.

 
Maple forest is just forest... plains is just basically desert nobody is losing anything really other than these can be sub biomes now. Anyhow the new terrain shader can only handle so many textures so something had to give and this will help the game run better. Trust me the new art will make you quickly forget about the old stuff. One gorgeous forest is better than two ♥♥♥♥ty ones.
We're keeping maple trees, though. Right?

I remember him saying you won't be actually seeing them in-game.

i dont understand why shotgun reloads only 2 shell all the time even its empty.

So an engine issue not a design one? Since I don't know anything about what is under the hood I can't argue.

But one last bit of your time think of this. I am not worried about the Nostalgia here this is purely gameplay.

Currently we have 7 biomes

Planes - medium

Forest - easy

Pine Forest - easy

Desert - hard

Snow - hard

Wasteland - very hard

Burnt - very hard

You are removing 2. That is going to leave us with:

Pine Forest - easy

Desert - hard

Snow - hard

Wasteland - very hard

Burnt - very hard

This leaves us with basically 1 easy biome. That means either this single biome will be very common cutting down on variety or the starts are going to be miserable.

Burnt is just ugly and hard to see anything and filled with fire crackling all the time. And is very hot all the time and very little wildlife.

Wasteland is ugly and has no trees with random land mines and very little wildlife no planting food or finding clay.

Desert is pretty, but no trees no clay and very few animals along being hot all the time no planting food or finding clay.

Snow is pretty but the temps and the snow zombies are murder for beginners there is no planting food or finding clay.

Basically we are left with a single biome that is "good" food clay trees animals and decent temperature. Having only 1 good biome sounds like a bad idea.

 
Yeah I think having shotguns reload according to how much ammo you need to fill back in would be a good addition. Its just a small thing but its quite immersion breaking when I shoot one shot and load two, shoot eight shots and load two, etc.

Not a biggie, but would be niced to see this changed.

Edit: to all others. Apologies for my walls of text here, I just easily get carried away in debates with SJWs. I enjoy these conversations more than I should probably. hehe ^^

I agree with everything you say. This could become a problem. Or maybe they'll add other biomes to replace the ones they removed? Would be cool to see a rainforest or marshlands.

I heard him say they would only show during quests, which is cringe worthy to me. I would prefer seeing them added to the map with a sound notification or with the option to add them to the compass area. It is what it is. I hold my judgement until I see it or dont see it in experimental. Just voicing my personal feeling on an awesome game.

I am sad that the autumn forest is now dead but if it improves fps then it's worth it.

Yeah I was quite stoked for that as well. No other biome yet wouldve had that color scheme. I hope they will find a way to add back the biomes they remove with the engine eventually and even add new ones (like marshlands for example)

Perishton looks great. Same goes for the wilderness.

Weapon damage seem ok too, for a lvl 1 character and basic weapons without mods.

Quest markers, errrh, no thanks. Even just printing coordinates in the quest description is better than a quest marker IMO.
