Yeah.. Well. It was supposed to be the bandit/AI-update.
I thought so to.. but I have 2 words that will get u excited for A17 instead of bandits and AI. CLIMBABLE TRELLACES!!!!

Really! Because I was sorta feeling that this is the Moles way...

I would do this... That'll teach them!

But then again I would have far less patience than he has all round... Oh well :)

Nah-ah, I'm more excited for the updated bath-tub. That's obviously going to be the crown jewel of A17.

/grumble-mode

I know, but you are not allowed to say this. Because development definitely hasn't slowed down. Obviously.
Do you know anything about development?

From a "new feature" perspective, development does slow down the closer you get to Gold. But in this case, I don't even see that happening. There are LOTS of things happening. Just because you don't understand what is showable and what isn't doesn't mean development has slowed down.

I dont need a video... just a confirmation or denial of big features like bandits and AI. Dont really care about more info or videos on new textures, block trims, and "dungeon" POIs with intended paths that are the exact opposite of what open world games are about

Oh, so you do have other modes too? :rapture:
Yeah, somewhat of a narrow selection to be honest.

Grumble, passive-aggressive.. Ironic thrown in there as well. I kinda cycle between them.

Sure, the non-showable things are coming along nicely. A lot of things are happening, they are just not showable. You must have very good sources obviously.

On a side note, I've seen a domesticated member of the Gus genus take off into the air.

Oi mate, I'm the one around here who's supposed to be the grumbling grandpa!

Salt mines in Arizona do exist but are not as pure as more commonly used salt and therefore little damand. Who knows.
And sulfur. Need that to tame phoenix.

Counts as a faceted personality in my book!

You must be a helluva lot fun on a date. I bet you start bitching about the amount of time the kitchen is taking before the waiter even makes it back off the floor.

I don't need sources to know how development works. I can read the list of things they are working on and understand that most of those are not showable until done because they don't work as partial things. They are complete or nonfunctional. There is no in between. Sorry you don't have the background to recognize that.

Maybe Alpha games just isn't for you. There are plenty of games that are already Gold that you wouldn't have to be in a constant state of panic because the devs just aren't doing things fast enough to suit you.

It must be bad if the geologist feels impatient.... I'll leave a note asking if another video is coming soon.

Woah, Gnomy. Read his title. He's beloved. Really. :)

To prove everything is going as planned, here is a picture of TFP hard at work. Working and thinking.

View attachment 23783See? Everything is nice... and busy. Nobody has to get hurt, see? So if someone comes around asking questions... too many questions, you says: "They Busy". Got it?? Good.

Here have a snickers bar.

Madmole said that he should have something to show soon. They have been hard at work since they came back from the holidays but its all WIP stuff that hasn't quite come together in showable form but getting close. :)

I can't see the field through all the strawmen you planted there buddy.

I've been around here since quite some time ago to know that there is a significant difference in the way TFP are doing things currently as compared to a few years ago. Up until the last Alpha TFP were a prime example of an interactive group of developers. Truly. The developers often showcased what they are doing, and even had specific Q&A sessions. They were active on the forum, interacting with their fanbase. Not anymore. And that's sad.

If Alpha games aren't for me I should definitely clean up my steam library.. :)

You are offering that to the wrong person. I'm not the one whining like a 2 year old that 'I want it NOW! NOW!"
Dude... You must be fun on a date :)

I'll admit I was being a bit of a jerk but you may want to lookup "strawman argument". You were arguing that development is being done differently and your only proof is the way TFP interacts with the Forum. THAT is a strawman argument. If you had just stated something like "TFP used to be a lot more informative during the development cycle", I would have agreed with you.

But, you didn't make that argument. You said development had slowed down. Lets list a few thing: They are currently rewriting a major portion of the code for Unity 2017, rewriting the physics used by vehicles, adding motion capture to the animations, updating a ton of graphics and redoing what looks like every POI in the game. This isn't even a complete list of confirmed changes. Exactly how does that list give any indication that development has slowed?
