I have been thinking about the quest at the start of the game and wanted to know what you think about these changes Madmole?
1. Replace the make a club with the spear. - Clubs are barely used IMO while spears are a great starter weapon.

2. Add making a Blunderbuss as an optional side quest. - This will let new players know that they can make this and it makes a great zombie stopper.
their scraping the blunderbuss into a grenade launcher.

and clubs are easy to used anyone can uses a club and get used to it, PLUS its cheaper

Also its nice to see the forum alive again

So far I've only put them in vending machines for a couple of reasons. One, to thin canned foods, two to make them not readily abundant and to give vending machines something unique.
I was talking specifically about the candies that give the player better barter, and I was questioning the motivations of the traders, not you guys.

From a lore standpoint it kind of seems weird that the traders would intentionally be crippling their ability to rip off their customers.

From a gameplay perspective, it seems like it would be a no-brainer to always check a vending machine at the trader for the Sugar Butts and eat one if the %bonus totals to be more than candy cost. It adds busywork and complexity to the trading system without adding interesting gameplay, kind of like sharp sticks.

MadMole, how much of a chance does Reyes have vs Jones?
And McGregor or Cowboy?
Reyes has 0% chance. He's overrated af. All he did was wreck a washed up little 185r Weidman and had a gifted decision against Ozdemir who beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of him in my book. They are lacking title contenders so they gave him a shot. Honestly Jones has not looked great his last two fights, but the worst version of Jones is still enough to beat anyone. Its not generating exciting wins, but nobody is taking his belt.

McGregor is a joke, but cowboy goes into a fight half asleep. If that left lands it might do some damage. If the fight goes past the first round McGregor is ♥♥♥♥ed. It really depends what version of cowboy shows up. When cowboy means business he can wreck about anyone.

The worst thing about it is they are fighting at 170. How does beating a guy on a two fight skid at 170 get you a title fight at 155? They are saying he could replace khabib or ferguson if one of them gets injured. Wait a minute, how can you replace the champ?

The funny thing is he is talking about fighting true 170 guys. Those guys are so much bigger than him it isn't even funny. Good luck fighting a guy 50 pounds bigger than you. Some of those guys are 200 pounds and cut down to 170, he's 168 soakin wet. He's just talking smack trying to generate interest. If cowboy beats him he'll crawl into a bottle and we'll never hear from him again. If he wins, then the whole UFC is going to be a ♥♥♥♥show the next year as he can then magically pick a fight with whoever he wants at 170 or 155. He will clog up two divisions with a bs win over a 155r fighting at 170. It wouldn't surprise me if they rank him in both weight classes so he qualifies for a title match.

Its all about money fights, so it is what it is. I mean Mac is good for ufc business, but horrible for the ufc. He started the trend of all these guys wanting multiple belts and slowing down two divisions, everyone wanting a money fight with him, people holding out for hopes of those money fights, while guys that worked hard get robbed of their title shots.

You can not rationalize it just as easy as I can. It's a drug marketed like candy. How the hell does grandpas elixer do stuff? How does a med kit magically heal you from an inch of death? I'm here to make a fun game, if your immersion meter is broken, I'm sorry but we're not day z, this is a fun game that takes lightly the seriousness of the apocalypse and cool branding and game play beats realism. Its like recog for explosives.
I'd say the guy can aim better. He's jacked up on something that improves his perception a bit, sees and processes movement at 400 fps, and can land that rocket at the right juicy spot. So think of something that is the opposite of booze, something that speeds up your perception and its no stretch of the imagination. Think a the mhz a bird's processor is running to be able to swoop down and grab a bug or snatch a fly in the blink of an eye. This stuff taps into that and pushes your cognitive function faster.
i was also a bit skeptical at first but this explanaition is so creative! im sold.

Completely agree on all points.

I’m gonna go with McGregor since Cereone chokes on big fights, he will feel the pressure fighting a big name.

Maybe, it all depends on if he shows up pissed off or all smiles and hugs. He has some really good wins on guys that could starch McGregor on a good night, like: Charles Oliveira, James Krause (both currently on 6 fight win streak), Jeremy Stephens, Adriano Martins who beat some really good russians, Barboza had a string of great victories for a bit, Alex Oliveira who's downright nasty in some fights, and recently Al Iaquinta who went the distance with Khabib, something McGregor couldn't do. To me its all about the first round and a half, after that McGregor loses his spirit and if it goes to the mat he is submitted for sure. But yeah generally speaking I have McGregor but I wouldn't put money on that fight like I would Reyes.

I really think McGregor is out of his league against big guys and Cerrone will have a huge size advantage on the Irish Dwarf. Nate Diaz won both those fights against him IMO, and he's garbage. Just don't leave it in the judges hands. He really doesn't have as much power as everyone thinks he has. He sucker punched a 50 year old guy at a bar and the guy kept talking to his friends and ignored him lol. Cerrone needs to tear his legs up and slow him down, keep the distance with kicks the first round or so, then he can go for the kill.

here's "a" take on the current game situation,

we awaken, on an island in the middle of nowhere with a note. we sometimes get supply drops and we dont know who we are. there exists somewhere in the game such things as forgettin elixir. I think we were dosed highly, and left here in a hunger games type situation where we sometimes get air drops from the audience at home. the traders are all in on it, the candy is just drugs the military want to try, and we are expendable.

Well, I'm sure that we may see much more Mocap in this Alpha with with NPC's like bandits going in.
Lol.. There will be no bandits for a year or 2-3 I reckon. Hope I'm proven wrong of course.

Hi...

I was just wondering why when upgrading frames to wood blocks, then to reinforced wood blocks, they then go to cobblestone???

How come they do not go to reinforced wood with the steel bars then the cobblestone? We are missing a step in the upgrading I sure hope you do fix this

Thanks You , Game is Awesome I've only got aroung 13,200 or so hours in the game lol

SeabeeMan....

Is there a chance that you will work on npc in the World. Most should try to kill you but some would be peaceful and follows you to your base. You could build a safehouse for them and needs to protect them at All cost. You could give them a weapon so they can defend. If they ever die, they are dead forever so you need to find New ones. This way you can like build a village and needs to work on to protect them with great defense systems

I've been busy and only just recently played some A18. I see that perks are reworked again for A19 (or whatever it'll be called). Nice to see some things getting polished better.

I have a question. There are some perks that aren't just a matter of taste or playstyle. And investing in them is very expensive if you like other kind of playstyle. So my question is, will "lucky looter" and "better barter" get something reworked also?

My current character has no disire to go into "perception" or "intelligence" tree, BUT not getting "lucky looter" sets you back weeks. This games is SO MUCH about looting (which I like) that it seems unreasonable to tie it to one tree.

And "better barter" (if I understand correctly) cuts off some end game content entirely. It's like the game is not meant to be played solo.

I posted this elsewhere but the current breakout of weapons and stats is really super not working for my little group of 5. Pretty much nobody gets to play what they want. I'm a crafter/rifle guy who can't craft anything we need.

My kid is str and ends up with me having to do armor/tool/hammer crafting on his character because reasons.

The woman wants to go scout/stealth/bow/looting but has to invest in junk stats to do it.

From my perspective, advancement currently is very bad.

I'm in the "just let people learn everything they use as they use it" camp. What we have right now is a janky meta.

@MM

just a quick thought:

If you introduce candies, I would really appreciate them having a longer effectiveness.

I have never used anything that has boosted combat values if it was <3min.

It feels like I'm wasting it. If I can see the Z's, its too late to take them, if I don't see them then it probably runs out before i can fight them.

5-10 minute duration should be the minimum you aim for.

Seriously. If I don't have statboosters in the quickbar, it nearly takes as long going into the inventory, looking for it, clicking it pressing W to use and waiting for the animation as the effect duration. Especially with how much medical stuff costs.

So maybe make candies 2-5 minute quickboosters, but make them cheap (like 150 each), while medical stuff like fortbites are expensive to buy or make but last a whole hordenight.

So candies are for pois or the last bossroom, while medical stuff is for stuff like hordenights or T5 towers

The candy reminds me of the books from A17 that added temporarily buffs. Cant say I'm a fan of it. But, I understand the need for thinning out canned foods at vending machines.

They rather remind me of the "chems" from the Fallout.

Again I agree on most but one thing to note Is Diaz beat Cerrone decisively.
