Already tried restarting, dropping to "medium quality" which gets me 35 FPS instead of 30 :D
I plan on writing an in depth guide for dummies about how to change graphics settings, what it all means, as well as a guide for those with an nvidia card and what can be done to boost performance via that as well. I hate explainging it all to 100s of players that I find myself explaining all the info to. Better to just write up a tutorial and link that crap for people instead of walking them through and taking up to an hour giving personal lessons out ;)

I'd be grateful for this! =) Trying to figure out/remember what settings work with what settings and how they need to be changed, etc... I just never remember it and a guide to do this for 7d2d would be fantastic.

Haha i used to write those guides myself for games like Oblivion and Skyrim :)

Anyway, it's definitely the game. Looks like TFP already found something, so hopefully it's an easy fix.

From the looks of things, most FunPimps run nVidia based systems and from what i can tell it's the AMD people who are having the issues?

Nvidia boi here! Happens to me too :fat: !

We found something that could help dramatically.
Intrigue! Can you tell us what you found? I have a potato laptop, went from 35ish in A16.x to 25ish in A17.4. Now down to 5-7 in A18 . No money for a gaming rig. Any performance improvement is a god send for me.

I'll be posting it tonight or tomorrow morning then a youtube video version some time this week. I hear all my friends say that thus kinda the reason I got the idea to write up a tutorial back in A17.1 when get done explaining in detail to 3 people exactly what it all means, it becomes a job teaching one on one with everyone and not fun lol

i love the update!
but the only problem is the FPS out side indoors runs great,

but out doors is lagging alot
Yeah, hopefully they can push out a small hotfix today. They worked hard to make a great first impression impact with A18 experimental and really bad performance on on some systems can really put a damper on that.

Dropped all my settings to minimum and can squeek out 45 FPS :D . So yeah, it's nothing obvious or settings related, when i could put most things on ultra in A17 and still get ~70 FPS outside.

I only played through to finding the Trader due to work but first impressions:

-- new graphics are nice and detailed

-- the spear rocks - my new favorite so far.

-- thanks for changing the starter quest to reduced frames, fiber, clothing, etc.

-- Buzzards are more aggressive and fun.

I have lots of new loot to figure out. back online later - just getting one of my servers running "ZombieLand Texas - Default level"

I'm not able to play the game anymore, if i set the graphics options to low is the same as if i set them to ultra. The game is unplayable, not able to play even at 10 fps! With a17 i was playing all in ultra!

The problem seems to be full texture, i have to play it with the texture on "eight".

My Specs:

Gpu: Gtx 1060 3gb

Cpu: Ryzen 5 3200

Ram: 16 Gb DDR5

SSD

1080p

Well in a17 i had in medium settings around 50-60 fps on 1080p. Full textures low shadows.

A18 is 10 fps with Full textures, everything down to 0, 1080p. I had to reduce texute to half to even get 40fps.

To be able to play this experimental im stuck with 720p and half textures. So in terms of quality nothing changed for me. :(

Also items looks terrible if you reduce textures. So to everyone with 2gb memory cards. We will need to upgrade.

MM, I was just throwing a 17-pound "grippr" sandbag around, and it gave me an idea: what if there was a machine that launched similarly weighed sandbags at your upper body, kind of like a tennis ball launcher but slower? Do you think that could be useful for training for a punchy hand-to-hand combat sport like boxing?

Are you referring to the restart your game that you stated previously, or alluding to something on the code / game side?
He might be talking about the issue they have found with amd based cards. Not sure if a fix has been found but I know they are working on it.

Yea, I thought something must be up, don´t have a beast PC, but dipping into 30s on medium to low settings just seemed off.

MSI GeForce 1060 Gaming X 6Gb

Intel Xeon E3-1231v3

2x 8Gb 1600 DDR 3

Samsung 850 EVO

Remember when it was said that A17 was better than A16 in performance-terms?
LMFAO....ouch...stop don't make me laugh so hard!

I think I know why this happens or did happen in A17. I do not think TFP test the game on low end computers. Only on all there top end graphics card. I could be wrong but everyone I personally asked regarding there hardware, especially the QA testers, they test this out on high end computers.

I think its time they invest in a few crap computer so that testing of the graphics can be done on several different rigs sporting different hardware and not just the high end computers.
