I swear I saw Faatal say they had already resolved this earlier.
Robert made a fix today, that is not in the release (b139), that is a general fix for mods applying to other items, which I think also fixes turrets.

20 minutes in game : It's... amazing. Really. Everything seems new. The world is beautiful. Sounds & music are perfect. Sorry, I can't stay longer, but THANKS GUYS, YOU ARE AWESOME !

You could try disable occlusion, maybe your gpu is so weak the work to do it makes it slower.
Occlusion off seems to help somewhat. Still not great but it is playable with lower settings. On the bright side I found an AK schematic before getting to the first trader:smile-new: But now I need to get a new graphics card....thanks:crushed: game's great thought, good job (not sarcasm)

Enable streaming textures, nobody should turn that off IMO the game just won't fit into vram. When you run out of texture memory the game will chug hard and this is what happened. Streaming will take unused textures and shrink them down and keep your game running good.
I have plenty of memory, but not the greatest graphics card. I and everyone I know that does not have the latest tech, ALWAYS turn off texture streaming to boost performance. This is of course on A17 but who knows, maybe the way it worked sucked in A17 but something tells me when you have plenty of memory but not enough graphics power....streaming textures has a negative impact.

EDIT: I along with friends will test today to see if We have the same results in A18 when turning off streaming in order to boost performance as we did in A17. I have no clue why it worked like this in A17, seemed backwards but hey it is what it was.

I would leave streaming on and start cutting your quality to medium etc.
With straming textures i get about 20 FPS drop down to around 60 ish.

I have turned off reflected shadows, and reflected quality low, trees on high... rest is on max.

Inside FPS are up to 100+ FPS, outside from 40 - 100 ( depends on loading )

Geforce 2070 RTX Super, 32 GB RAM, Ryzen 7 3700X, 8 cores

You will indoors, it will bury at 60fps as long as you aren't looking out a window.
Yeah indoors the FPS is better. Outdoors is pretty much the same. Still good, keep in mind. But not better than before.

Thank you, it gets my snowdog hard to hear this.

I am glad you found some settings to make it playable.

performance is way worse than A17.4, wasnt it supposed to be better?
Depends on your system. Some better, some worse. Check your resolution, sometimes and update defaults to 4k or some crap.

Performance is way worse compared to a17 on top of the line PC's. I'm betting you guys changed something since the streamers release last friday. Settings seem to matter very little. Performance is same as a17 indoors, slightly worse in cities (about 10less fps compared to a17), but when looking at large stretches of wilderness (desert for me) the performance plummets. Basically went from 90 FPS in a17.4 to ~30 FPS. Definitely something you should be looking at, before writing it off as PEBCAK.

My random guess is terrain shaders.

Good tip : Exit game and reload...

All running great on MAX settings, in a built up area and still over 60fps so thats pleasing...

Feels and plays good, its really slick..

see now thats weird. desert is the place you should get the boost in fps and overall performance...

EDIT: I'll be jumping on in a minute to compare my numbers between A17 and A18 to see the exact numbers and say for sure if its for the better or worse. Because I had already planned this test since A17. So the test will have very little variables except that which has been done to the game. This go around I will have the actual numbers and evidence to present should anyone try and tell me that performance was increased in A18. ;)

Already tried restarting, dropping to "medium quality" which gets me 35 FPS instead of 30 :D

In running around in cities gets me about ~45. Indoors it's 70+.

The more open terrain im looking at the worse the performance.

In a17, running around in the wilderness gave me about 70 FPS. Indoors would be 100+.

If it helps try reloading the save. That's what helped me... I've played at steady 60 - 70 than it plummeted overnight to 20-30 ish. Reloaded the save and now I m back on 60 - 70+. and Shades reflection off, reflection quality to low.
