same exact settings from 17.4, less than half the fps. even running 1080, with everything turned down, barely 60 fps.was running 17.4 on 1440 at 80-100fps. can't break 40 fps now.
Close the application down completely, restart and try pregen 01 and see how your fps is. Reset to high and work your way down, old settings could cause some issues.

Everyone should restart your game immediately after generating a rwg map before saying its slow or choppy.
I can say I was playing with 70 - 100 fps on the day 1, great performance no lag stuttering or anything, than on day 2 " a memory leak" occurs... restarting the game solved the problem and its back to normal for now. Other than that leak great performance so far.

The game runs about the same in terms of FPS and CPU/GPU usage as in A17. Not a bad thing, but I don't see an improvement.
You will indoors, it will bury at 60fps as long as you aren't looking out a window.

Using pregen1. Also restarted, still choppy on full. Using a 2GB GTX1050, so maybe not enough vram.......

Are you using streaming textures?

The best gameplay is when you ♥♥♥♥ your pants! Can’t wait to hop in, generating music new world as we speak haha!

That's what it is for sure. I just tried it on a machine with a 2GB card and it pages hard and is pegged at full VRAM usage with swapping in and out constantly. On an 8GB card it's using about 5-6GB non-stop. I have streaming on in both machines. 4GB cards will page too, only half as much. A strong 4GB card with a thick pipeline might be able to at least get playable framerates. I don't think there is any 2GB cards on the market that have a fast enough memory bus to not suffer fps drops from the thrashing.

I can turn everything to max on that 2GB card except textures and it will maintain a playable framerate. It's definitely the texture swapping that's doing it to you.

On a somewhat positive note, I do think that the game on Half Textures on A18 at least looks better than it Half Textures did on A17.

Does there happen to be an expectation on when the dedicated server will get the experimental update available? Using the steamcmd update with params:

+app_update 294420 -beta experimental validate

Doesn't seem to be fetching the latest experimental, but instead appears to be validating the 17.4 install and confirming it's good.

Without streaming textures. With straeming textures i get about 20 FPS drop down to around 60 ish.

I have turned off reflected shadows, and reflected quality low, trees on high... rest is on max.

Inside FPS are up to 100+ FPS, outside from 40 - 100 ( depends on loading )

So deleted old saves and reshade, revalidated, restarted, GPU driver is up to date, using pregen1, tex streaming on, put everything to lowest setting and it plays, but is still juttery when I turn and getting lower frame rates at 1920x1080. I have to put everything on lowest setting and res at 1600x900 to get it to play anywhere near how it played in A17 with most settings around medium at full textures and 1920x1080 res. So at least for me, it is performing way worse. But yeah, probably my cards fault.

I'm saying that it appears they're standing because they're dying at the same moment they go into rage mode.
You have a legitimate problem, because during some rage modes the entities teleport a little bit. Especially if they're staggering from hits at the time.
I don't see how it would matter. If a zombie was going to move .05m the next frame and rage turned on, it would then move a larger amount like .06m or .1m and the animation would play faster. Every time a zombie moves it is technically teleporting. If he died that same moment, the death anim would be playing or a ragdoll, which is not changed by the rage anim speed up, which only changes the blend between the idle/walk/run anims.

Enable streaming textures, nobody should turn that off IMO the game just won't fit into vram. When you run out of texture memory the game will chug hard and this is what happened. Streaming will take unused textures and shrink them down and keep your game running good.

No improvement. I will say that the interior FPS has skyrocketed. Outside, no dice. Low preset is still max 80 on 1080. If I look up or down, it goes up to 120. 1440, I can't break 50.

You could try disable occlusion, maybe your gpu is so weak the work to do it makes it slower.

Maybe try 1080.

I went through an open hatch on a poi roof. when I dropped through it, it got destroyed and injured me. Is this the result of the "elevator" fix?

I didn't open or close it, just dropped through the hole.
