V2.1 Stable

Yesterday when I changed from "latest experimental" to "no", Steam downloaded something. The update was small, but it was there. It looks like the experimental version is not quite the latest.
Right. Like schwanz9000 said, they added stuff related to Twitch and fixed an xpath issue. :)

It can also be shader cache updates via steam. Especially if the update size is around 400-500 kb.

You can turn on or off that option in Steam - Settings - Downloads

Suxors about a small update
The reply generated from this:
If you are on latest_experimental, you're on build 7. If you are on "None" or "2.1 Stable, you are on build 9.

Steam's shader cache updates don't change the build number. But I understand that your reply was for the tiny 400 - 500 kb update.

Correction: Suxar's message was originally about going from "latest_experimental" to "None" and noticing that a small download occurred. So, by doing this, he got updated from Build 7 to Build 9. Nothing to do with shader cache in his case.

Hello people

Just updating my situation to yall. I play on xbox series x and my wife plays on x box series s, 2 other friends play on x box series x and we rent a nitrado server.

Like everyone else we haven't been able to get on. BUT today I decided to restore a backup save through nitrado and reapply the update.

It worked! We are all in. I hope this helps yall!

(PS5) So I just got the dreaded remote data validation failed. Modified files detected. I play on my friends dedicated server he got about a week ago. I was on solo riding the bicycle during the night right outside of Trader Jens when all of a sudden I kept bouncing back off an invisible wall and the zombies chasing me were just running in place. I chopped it up to server lag so I waited and time kept passing like normal while I kept bouncing off the invisible wall in the road. It became morning so I'm like ill just turn around and go back to Jens. As I approach and got closer my bike and I slowly started falling into the ground after 10 feet I'm like ok this is really bugged so I quit to rejoin and saved the game video of last 3 mins to show my buddy. As I tried to rejoin it and as I speak its still showing 1 person in the server which was me cause I was on it alone and would get stuck on trying to join to server. So I'm like ok let me try joining on the other server I played on for like a day until my buddy wakes up and resets the server and when I tried joining it is when I got the error message about modified files detected. I don't know if this issue is helpful for the devs but it seems like getting this error is because it's registering as my character is active on a server still even though I'm not and I'm not sure once the server gets restarted if the problem will resolve itself but figured I'd mention it and update if the problem continues or gets fixed. 20250723_010734.jpg

STEAMCMD is still reporting 0x402 error and refuses to update V2.0 server to V2.1
I replied to your thread. I'm going to guess either you are doing something wrong, or there is an issue with Steam. Can't say anything for sure with the lack of information you provided, and this thread is not for getting support or reporting issues.

Time to change the way the game is done. Remove the idea that updates are needed. What the devs need to do it make it a modders paradise. Work actively with the modding community. If the development over to community design advancement through mods is done the game will always improve. Profitize by making modders modules, that can add mods, check and compare them for working together. Make the game base off a mod loader. If the game becomes the mod loader profit can be made through charging to correlate and configure mods. I would gladly pay to have a system that checks, correlates, fixes mods. Allow us full controll over the game and sit back and help us make it great. We don't need updates we need correlation for expansion. Without mods who would be playing this game for the last 15 years.
