How far have you gone this playthrough?

I used to mod Half-Life 2, to create new levels. (Planet Phillip FTW!)

Modding 7D2D is a lot easier. If you learn XPath (which is not really "scripting") then you have a lot of power over what the game does.

Yes, mods that fundamentally alter the game play will probably require C# and/or Unity changes, but you won't have to learn that until you want to do something that is not possible with XML/XPath. You will be surprised how far you go until you reach that point.

My point: Modding is not a dream. Try it. You don't need to know scripting for most things. If you run into that point then ask, here or on Guppy's Discord (link is in the modding section of this forum). It will be better for you, and it will be better for the other modders. Just do it.
I made a level for Day of Defeat Source, that after weeks of work, maybe months, Steam decided to delete all of the files somehow and I did not make backups.

I am really only good at building. I just use whatever I can use, Polygons, Unreal 2.5 had a Subtract method to cut out of a void, but you could add polygon structures too, 7 Days to Die has its voxel thing. Possibly the only thing I am good at.

I do wish I could use seamless textures from online sources to add to 7 Days to Die paint selections. It seems like it would be so easy, but nobody has done it.

For what I read on forums I might be the only one who stays in game so long. I mainly stay in so long so I can build a a cool base. I also have to admit I have a lot of time on my hands, as others may not.

This playthrough:

Game Version 1.4
24 Hour Cycle: 120 minutes
Day 202
level 250

I just restarted my playthrough with Prebuilds learn by doing im on day 6

My longest with the mod was day 47

So, life happens. I have much to report, some question to ask, and some plans to make.

For right now...

Day 80, 2159 hrs.
Level 210, 16428 Kills.
QP 63/100.

Horde Night begins, and an update will follow immediately.

Day 81, 1120 hrs.
level 219, 17460 Kills.
QP 63/100.

I count 1,032 kills last HN, and 9 levels! I added a second level to my crafting base, to put in more workbenches to handle the scrapping of all the ammo and tools and armor bits I keep getting. I also will be adding more storage boxes upstairs to help hoard my loot.

On the home front, I got great news on tuesday when I saw the surgeon again. She made the wound bleed (more than she intended), but I got my stitches out and I am off the dang vacuum pump. Thank goodness, no more dragging that thing around and having to worry about the power cord/plastic tubing getting stuck on something.

I am grounded, no more walking outside (for how long, I don't yet know), but I may not need a skin graft at all, and if I do, it will not be an inpatient surgery, but rather and outpatient one. No assisted living needed. Not sure on the timeline, but I seem well positioned to be walking around (Normally) sometime late this summer or early fall.

I still cannot get the foot wet, so still no showers/baths, and instead will continue to have to make do with a bucket and sponge for the foreseeable future, but at least that time is finally going to come to an end, and no more having to juggle the vacuum pump.

On the game front, I am just 81 levels from completion! Once I hit 300th level, it will be a new game/thread. I want to try some creative writing once my medical situation is cleared up, and plan to play a whole lot more. In the new thread, I'm wanting to ask for folks opinions on gameplay ideas/settings.

Things that are carved in stone:
Game will be V2.4.
All zombies will be the "Walking Dead".
All ranged attacks by zombies will be turned off.
I will continue using the same world map that I am on now.
Death = Restart.

Things I am considering, and want opinions on:
Horde Nights, how soon and how fast should I start upgrading them?
1) Make HN start of with 7 days, then 6 days, then 5 days ect...
2) Make the nights longer, and if so, when and by how much?
3) Makes the max zombies go up some, and if so, when and by how much?
4) Moving my HN to the harder Biomes, and if so, when and where to?
5) Make the difficulty one level higher than this last game?

I want to plan on making one story/update per week, time and circumstances permitting. Simple posts can be any time, any amounts, but I should be having my weekends all to myself, every weekend, so if I cannot make a story post over a weekend, then there won't be one that week.

Glad to hear you're doing well.

As an aside, I spent ~3 months unable to get my lower leg/foot and upper right arm (I had a PICC line for IV antibiotics) wet. Trash bags with liberal use of tape (the medical kind that's meant to pull off without tearing your skin apart) allowed me to shower without getting the foot wet at all.

The arm was less successful.

Anybody else running a windows 10 system, that has had the "Mslo64.sys" file nonsense come up and stop you from playing 7dtd? Did you find a solution, or did you downgrade to Windows 11?

I'm not happy not being able to play 7dtd all of a sudden, but if the only way to restore my 7dtd, is to go the Windows 11 route, I'll do that short term, but then my new computer(s) will NOT be windows based machines, as this is their problem, and not anything I wanted/authorized.

Does 7dtd run on Windows 11 systems, without issues?

Not on Windows myself, but a quick search suggests two options:
- update the driver (possibly blocked by the old OS version)
- disable "Memory Integrity" -checks (might make you more vulnerable, but you're already running an out-of-date system, dunno how much that matters. Link below [1])

Someone else is saying deleting an RGB-control program solved it .. sounds like it's used for ASUS led devices. MMaybe.

I've been a linux enjoyer for a couple decades, feel free to join the growing club :D It's not all that cozy here either, but the basics work fine.

I've hit 300 before. just stopped a game 2 days ago cus left base unlocked and someone looted it.. time for 3.0 anyway so no loss. that game iw as around 270.. depending on server setting i get about 3 levels a day avg and my goal as not been to prioritize level. im a builder more than anything else. get a bike.. then motorcycle build a base.. then focus on farm food dukes ammo.. i play on default but accept settings that ad a bit of exp or increased air drops or damage.. mid settings for difficulty + or minus 1.. i always make afk horde base.. but actively defend it cus ammo so expensive time wise. I dislike mods except for user quality but dislike anything that changes game play. would you mod chess? this game is one of best games i have ever played. pure vanilla servers hard to find. . that is one thing i'd change.. pimps host public servers with no admins. some no kill some pvp. worst servers are servers where admins play the users while the users just try toplay the game.. or admins turn thewhole thing into creative mode with their super powers. i stay in games till i beat them.. meaning i got every skill i want.. every level i want.. every weapon i want every item i want.. my base is unbreakable and killing zombies is almost pointless game not as fun if all you do is mine for ammo.. and kill stuff you have killed 100x before with no real gain. or when you hit 300 and there is nothing left to do. One prob i have is i have a lot of time.. so i get so far ahead of everyone else on server way ahead.. and that gets you kicked off server.. or they restart server.. or one guy exited changed the difficulty to insane just for me.. and that worked cop puke going thru walls of base cement walls. destroying everyting inside. that truly was insane. i wont play insane difficulty.

If you get a shower chair I think you can easily be able to wrap your leg in plastic bag and duct tape. With the shower chair you will be able to keep your one foot from hitting the bottom of the tub/shower. A one handed shower head wand of course would be needed if you are using a shower chair. Sometimes I stand up on one foot and put the shower head back at the top of the shower and stand there on my one foot, which is a strange thing to do, believe me.

If you want more time to fool around without worrying about HN, I suggest 120 Minute days. I know HN is going to be longer but you will also have more experience and loot bags from the longer HN. This really is not a difficulty setting anyway the difficulty setting are exactly the same just for longer time period, but it is up to you.

I usually do not change anything much. First play is at default, except for the "120 minute days" and "on death lose backpack only". I do not ever change these setting after my first day playing, kind of a purest that way I guess. I did have to ramp up the bloodmoon with a bunch of things like: 64 zeds at one time, 200% AI block damage on bloodmoon and turning the AI to nightmare on bloodmoon as well. I had to do this because my base is way overkill and even with these settings, and not fighting (letting the traps do the work), the zeds do not get to the inner base.

My base is both home-base and horde-base, so I needed the defenses at first when I was building the base. Now its just ridiculous how they do not get very far - even without me actively fighting - and just letting the traps do the work. I only started doing this after about 6 horde nights of fighting from my platform and using massive amounts of ammo as well and they never breached the outer wall where I had more traps behind and I wanted to see those traps work, so I had to stop fighting and upping the bloodmoon difficulty settings before they would get past the 2 layer thick concrete outer wall.

I don't know of course what would be the best setting for YOUR personal player settings, and I am sure everyone has their favorite settings after playing the game for a long time, but I do suggest, keeping the settings as default as possible but with 120 minute days, also keeping these setting the same through your entire playthrough - unless necessary of course.
