Agent Smith, Enforcer Set all the way, baby. Once we can once again dye our armor, then it is the "Men in Black" look for me.
I wear the Enforcer set for the better barter and speed bonuses while I'm out and about, and the crit resistances are nice, but the glove bonuses just don't do anything for me. I use the Farmer set when harvesting my crops, the Miner set while digging my bedrock tunnels/mines, and the lumberjack set when it's time for planting/harvesting my commercial forest reserves.
I have built the Nerd set, and carry the armor with me while making a beer runz, and once I (and my drone) am full of books, I just swap out my body armor, and reap the benefits of faster book/skill progression.
I love the way the new system is set up, and think that it is fine the way it is. I haven't build an Athletic Set in either my friend's game, or my follow on solo game, because the +50 stamina and +100 life we can get already make long range, cross country running easy enough that those are not really needed, but will be nice as an additional thing to finish exploring the rest of the map.
Of course, the Gyrocopter is nice, but with all the broken legs and deaths I have suffered by accidently exiting the darn thing mid flight, not to mention storms, I have not even built my first landing/launching pad, yet. I'll probably wait until I actually can buy/build a gyrocopter before I start building the elevated 20 X 50 heli-pads.
Right now, after my friends game stopped working once he started having problems streaming/screen sharing, I lost my 233 level guy, and his 200 level buy is now somewhere north of level 238, and I had to restart with my solo guy, who was level 40-60 something.
The race is on!
I'm just a bit past level 120 in my game, have just unlocked the dessert and snow biomes, and have started working on my main base (in my solo game). I have walled off access to the load bearing pillars, placed a double row of spikes (Iron, are Steel more durable/worth the cost), and started to fill in the base's foundation. My base, exclusive of the outer 'ladder towers', is 25 X 27, and sits upon it's support pillars', until I can fill in the whole foundation.
