Xbox X -- "continue game" is greyed out and cannot be clicked on to load and play.

This is important, lets make sure we are right here. PS and PC users did not see a new EULA, at least I didn't and one PS user didn't and there wasn't any talk in the forum about new EULAs, except an older thread that was continued from 1.5 years ago. And I would assume that all players of the game are presented with the same one. I also searched for it and found the following page https://7daystodie.com/eula . That page was last updated in June (06.17.24) according to the date on the top right. So there should have been no reason to accept the EULA just now, except if xbox users hadn't accepted the EULA because of a bug or omission and TFP was catching up right now and presenting them with the EULA

What would explain everything that happened including TFPs opinion about it being a malfunctioning EOS-server is that the EULA acceptance flag is simply linked/or stored under your EOS id. When the game fails to get your id from the server or worse gets a different id then the game would ask for the EULA again.

But to make sure we really need to know if other xbox users (in different regions) had to accept a EULA in the recent days or not.

The EULA was updated June of 2024.  You could be on to something.  For whatever reasons it took 6 months for those of us on Xbox to get it and accept it.  Or if we did accept back in June or anytime since then why did we have to do it again?  Question still remains. Why would accepting a new EULA (something that is common) cause our save to be inaccessible?  My opinion is it is a coding issue.  The Xbox version code is just enough different from the PC and PS version to cause a flag to be turned off.  I'd think if it was a server / connectivity issue that would have been solved by now and once we logged in the server would recognize us and be able to restore our save.

I'm also in the US, state of Georgia.  I did get the EULA and had to accept it.  I can see my previous save simply can't access it.

I don't think so. Dagnoth18 has xbox as well and did not get the EULA. If TFP were intentionally asking for the EULA now he surely would have gotten the question too.

Note that the EULA says "Your continued use of this Software after a revised version has been posted constitutes acceptance by you of its terms.". So they think they don't need to ask for the EULA acceptance every time it changes (though it is doubtful that line would be accepted in court in some countries). It means it is even doubtful that they asked longtime players 6 months ago.

No, the most likely explanation currently is what I posted above: Because a specific server is not working correctly it gives some players the wrong or no EOS id or outright says this is a new user. Because of that the game thinks you are a totally new users who never saw a EULA before and presents it to you. The EULA question is not a cause, it is an effect.

Now that I think about you may be right.  My game did act like I just installed it.  So only folks on the specific server was affected?   My question now is can it be fixed so we can get our save back?  And does the PTBs know what caused this and taken steps to prevent it.

I am having other issues though which could be the eos server stuff that was mentioned causing my problems as well hopefully they can fix it soon

I'm on xbox an had a EULA agreement update last week an lost my game as continue game was greyed out an then it happened again this morning an lost game again, that's 2 save in 2 weeks an about 40 hours of progress lost, it's putting me of playing this great game through fear losing all my hard work.

Do you live in the States?

So, this isn't anything to do with the update nor the Eula. There's an issue with an Epic server somewhere it seems that's affecting a small region of players. It's failing to connect to Epic (likely a node along the route), which means you don't get a proper sign in. Your saves are fine and still there.
Small region?  Like most of the USA?  Just saw where it has happened to someone again.  Very frustrating if this is going to be a normal occurrence.

Since he didn't post his location how do you know that it means most of the USA?

Do you live in or close to Georgia?

I asked him.  We'll see what he says.  I'm in Georgia, another person was in Idaho.  There's a lot of real estate in between.  Not a small region by any definition.

Wow! Second game is gone too? That's really serious issue with the game. I hope that developers are looking into this. No one replied to my support request. Seems like they don't really care.

I'm in Texas.

Could it be that when we log into the game, we are assigned a random server?  So, it's kind of like Russia Roulette if you'll get the EULA update.

So we have me in Georgia, some in Idaho and Texas.  I think the small region thing is out the window.

That was dagnoth18 who lives in Idaho and he was the one who said he DIDN'T have to accept the EULA again and had no problems with the samegame (but other problems not relevant to this thread I would assume)

I'm in the UK.

... though that evidence makes it clear it isn't confined to a region

Jeff Sapp also US but didn't see which state.  Texas to Georgia to the UK is a pretty good-sized region 😁.  Would seem more than one server is involved.

Not necessarily. We don't know if EOS-servers are confined to regions, countries, or operate worldwide. We just concluded from Jugginators question that it might be the case.

If Jugginator actually knows how EOS server work and their segmentation method then his theory of the problem is disproven. If on the other hand he just guessed they might use regions as segmentation then just his guess about this is wrong and the theory that a server is malfunctioning could still be correct.

Anyway, TFP needs to look (and maybe already has looked) into the problem, from our point we can't rule out it is the game that has a bug. And it might even be necessary for TFP to inform EOS operators because why should they reboot a server when they don't know that it doesn't work.

I would suggest checking regularily into your bug reports, if questions or affirmations are posted or your bug report gets moved to "confirmed", "Fixed", "Not a bug", ... that could give an indication what is happening inside TFP with this bug.
