Xbox X -- "continue game" is greyed out and cannot be clicked on to load and play.

Doesn't it make more sense to for someone who is "working" on the issue to simply reach out to 1 or 2 of the customers who are having this issue by means of a quick scheduled phone call so all details and questions that the responsible party has are addressed in this 5-15 minute call rather than taking DAYS of back and forth messaging??

And then that user lives in india and is in bed in the middle of the night when the developer calls him 😉 (besides the joke, yes, they could easily agree on a time). More importantly you can't easily transfer the logfile with a phone call.

Not saying your idea couldn't be a good method in some cases. But at least for the PC side the number one important "heap of clues" for almost all bugs is the logfile. And other information (like for example the id number of a POI) can be easier read out per howto and copy-pasted much less error-prone into a forum. Essentially most of the information a developer needs is in text form.

i just hit lv 100 and day 137 yesterday …and today i too can’t continue my game 🤬🤬🤬it’s a little comforting knowing im

So, it’s just happened today? Did you had to accept EULA? When the game got actually updated? Did you had a customized player or used one of the standard?

Honestly don't remember.  Seems to me that I just scrolled through the list and picked on that I like.  but not 100% sure

And we have given as much detail as we know.

1. Turn on console.

2. Paddle to the 7 days game and clicked it.

3. Game proceeded to load.

4. Before we could get to the load game screen, were were prompted to sign the EULA before moving forward.

5. Agreed to EULA

6. Went to load current game and it greyed out and could not click on it.  Could only start a new game.

Honestly don't know what else to add.  Time of day?  Outside Temp? The last time using the restroom?
Unf'n believable....  I spent $45 only to have to spend hours trying to recover something that I had ZERO Fault in loosing.... 7 days to die is SSSSOOOOOO 95% PC and 5% console.  But sure Fun Pimps.... I will spend my damn evening collecting this @%$# for you only for you to sit on it and do nothing.......

quick update.  I am not doing all this crap.  You all know what the issue is.. I didnt pay $45 to do the legwork for an issue I did not cause.  I found the co owners Joel H. contact information and will be in touch with him several times a day until this issue is resolved.  I will not go away.  I promise you that!

Good morning.  It is my understanding that you are the person that will assist with the issue of losing game saves due to the recent update and EULA signing.  Can I get an update on this?  I look forward to your timely communication.  Sincerely, Jeff

So, this isn't anything to do with the update nor the Eula. There's an issue with an Epic server somewhere it seems that's affecting a small region of players. It's failing to connect to Epic (likely a node along the route), which means you don't get a proper sign in. Your saves are fine and still there.

I reported my first drone disapering into the ground with all it's cargo and how I can't have one now. I gave all the info I could and got no reply, that was months ago. It happened again right before 1.2 dropped. I have not played since. After reading this topic I may wait for the next big update. I've had the drone issue twice as guest in Buddy's worlds but my single player and one with wife I can still use my drone but would be mad if this update broke them...

Appreciate your response! So, basically as soon as you get that connectivity issue resolved, we should be able to get access to our lost games? Any ETA on that?

TFP doesn't manage EOS afaik. Epic likely has to handle that. So all this complaining and it likely wasn't even anything TFP caused or could fix.

The error handling could be improved though. If someone doesn't get connection to some server, this should be displayed as a message instead of a savegame vanishing.

Sorry I don't buy this at all.  The one common factor is all of us that can't access our save accepted the EULA.  I was playing 1.2 for a few days before the new EULA.  Pretty obvious the EULA is the cause of this.  Is the EULA somehow connected to the Epic server?

Excellent point, the occurence is suggesting some connection. BUT

The interesting information we don't know yet is why you all were asked for the EULA. What can prompt this? Or did everyone on console need to accept the EULA recently, but only a few got the problem of the missing save afterwards?

If any console user without a vanished savegame is reading this, did you have to accept the EULA recently as well?

If other console user were NOT asked to accept the EULA then it could for example be the result of the game thinking it isn't a valid copy and reseting some information including the acceptance flag for the EULA. Which would then prompt for the EULA. Which would mean the EULA is just another effect, not a cause.

Just fired up my save that was started day of release and I’m pretty sure I hadn’t loaded up since 1.2 released. Did not get asked to sign EULA and save loaded with no problem. I’m on PS5, is everyone reporting this an XBox user?

As I remember (and I could be mistaken) the EULA had been updated.  The point about the flag I agree with.  For whatever reason the flag for our old save wasn't turned on with the updated EULA.  So, the program thinks that save isn't valid.  I'm not a huge gamer but I think this is pretty common for EULAs to be updated from time to time (has happened to me) with no ill effects.  I wonder the code for the PCs is just enough different from consoles to cause this.

Yeah based on the title seems like an issue only on XBox but wasn’t sure if any PS players chimed in. Didn’t read through all the comments so apologies if dumb question.

I’m on XboX, my game got updated last week to 1.2 (b27) and I was able to play it without any issues, my lost game is actually marked as 1.2.  Then, approximately next day or so I’ve got EULA splash screen on the loading screen, and after I’ve accepted it, my saved game vanished and the Continue Game menu got greyed out. That’s the sequence of events that I’ve experienced.

This is important, lets make sure we are right here. PS and PC users did not see a new EULA, at least I didn't and one PS user didn't and there wasn't any talk in the forum about new EULAs, except an older thread that was continued from 1.5 years ago. And I would assume that all players of the game are presented with the same one. I also searched for it and found the following page https://7daystodie.com/eula . That page was last updated in June (06.17.24) according to the date on the top right. So there should have been no reason to accept the EULA just now, except if xbox users hadn't accepted the EULA because of a bug or omission and TFP was catching up right now and presenting them with the EULA

What would explain everything that happened including TFPs opinion about it being a malfunctioning EOS-server is that the EULA acceptance flag is simply linked/or stored under your EOS id. When the game fails to get your id from the server or worse gets a different id then the game would ask for the EULA again.

But to make sure we really need to know if other xbox users (in different regions) had to accept a EULA in the recent days or not.
