What you do just makes the community upset.
Trust me we are pretty good here.

It is a matter of time to understand the language of this forum, welcome.

Keep being frustrated, it will all go when experimantal is out and you will keep your words back. If not I owe you 20 bucks. Deal ?

I understand your frustration, but it helps if you build up arguments for your opinion. Ranting is no good for anyone. Try to explain your arguments. Then the devs can do something with the information.
Yes thanks. I think because its an update for an alpha version of the game (exp. update!) and there are so many announcements and spider man gifs and stuff which is all unnecessary that they should either bring out the beta (with full working NPC's and all the stuff I told and even more) or they should be faster with updating. Because I paid money for the game (and yes I knew that it was unfinished at this point) I expect at least a bit work and progress from the developers. I mean they hired more people !!! 10 programmers ! Are they all building POI's? Dont get me wrong the new POI's look amazing but there is more important stuff to do. The POI's you could also add later to the game (or at least some) ....

And as I said all this Hitler vid idiocy is in my opinion unnessecery...

I'm sure you'd be the first to complain if they implemented a load of buggy features. Programming takes time, good programming takes longer. Are you just ignoring my reply when I pointed out that a longer release cycle was supported by the community or should we ignore the opinion of the majority to satisfy your impatience?

Roland is the forum dude. And the other people talking about hitler or gifs and whatever are mostly just regular guys. It's just a fun thing we have going on every release.

Fatal for example is doing a lot of AI work, and he posted some updates here and there.

I still understand that 1 year is a long time. But they overhauled pretty much everything, and I know that is again frustrating because it changes so many times. But now should be "somewhat" more definitive than before.

The extra programmers take time getting to know the code // The game // the visions // etc.

Hopefully future stuff will now take less time, because the framework is set and more people are working.

Can't give you more information,

Batman

I hope so. Deal (y)

I think you need to step back and breathe a little. The silly games are a way to keep the community engaged while we wait for TFP to wrap up their work. With or without them, the update will arrive at exactly the same time (that is, when it's ready ™). If you're not interested in participating in the fun then the advice you'll get from anyone around here is to come back when the update is ready. Opinions are great but angry rants and accusations against the developers for being lazy are asinine. I'll give you that this update is taking quite a while but you'll forget that once you start playing.

Seriously @Madmole @TheFunPimps @Roland
We've been waiting for over a Year now! For an experimental Update for an Alpha version which is still not even near to be ready! Am I the only one who is annoyed?

You better have a Full background story for the game, finished NPC's , The Gyrocopter, bigger backpacks(thats not a lot of work) plastic bottles and a game optimisation for low hardware.......
You forgot space ships.

With or without warp drive is fine by me, what do you think?

Thank you, too. I'm still annoyed but I understand now what you guys mean.

I hope you can also understand me.

So release this thing now or give me my money back.....

You hired 10 software engeneers for building POI's? Man that makes me mad!

And stop asking for spider memes and Hitler vids and this ♥♥♥♥... This is just a method of employing the people so that they forget about how slow and lazy you are. If you cant do this make seperate updates in shorter periods of time. For example: one for optimisation; NPC's; graphics and textures; vehicles and so on

What you do just makes the community upset. And this is is not meant evil by the way but this is what I think and correct me if I'm wrong is whats going on right now!
Just to be clear. Your opinion is your own and is certainly a valid representation of how you feel. Calling the developers lazy is where you have gone off the rails and are in need of correction.

A) It is not true.

B) It is against forum rules

You can go to other places and call the devs whatever you want but in their house you will be respectful or you won't be allowed to post. You gave a lot of negative feedback in your posts and none of it was problematic except this part here that I highlighted. Just trying to help you understand the difference between sharing your feelings and making groundless accusations.

Now to your points:

The update will be huge. Whether the changes are appreciated or not will vary by the person. Some will be in heaven and others will wonder what the devs did all year long. Your list of demands leads me to think you will be underwhelmed...

You won't be refunded your money even if the update takes another year. There was never such a clause in the end user agreement when you purchased early access to the development process.

And, finally...so far their methodology seems to work. They develop in the way that works for them and there is always a big return plus surge of new players at every release. If the surge of A17 isn't larger than any in the past then you might have something. But I have a feeling it will break all records.

In 16 days? I dont remember a DATE set, he just said "maybe some time in july" not "july 1" or w/e..

Also "underground dangers and zombies digging down" ..... underground dangers?? Graboids? Radioactive moles? Earthworm Jim?

------

Also, the devs are LAZY?? Why just because they don't post on here every single day telling us each little detail of what they did that day? Get real! I haven't been playing 7d2d for YEARS like some of you people (just one and a half), but I have played World of Warcraft for more than 10. They crank out expansions every two years, and major patches roughly yearly, and sometimes smaller patches every couple of months. HOWEVER, they make MILLIONS and have several hundred if not thousand employees working the game.

TFP could have released PART of the game, called it finished, and people would have played it. Then some time later they could drop a "Patch" to add another feature or two and some fixes, let people "beta test it" and then patch it in live.... then they could work on another part, and ect ect rinse repeat.

No, instead, they call it like it is to them, still an alhpa game, because to them it's not done yet, it's not yet where they want it. But they try to give us as much as they can, for us to enjoy and help them improve while they work their asses off in the background, trying to bring new fun things, and to try to fix things that might be broken, and sometimes in fixing things, other things get broken (this happened in wow too, like all the time).. So then they release it all in one large chunk. (because unlike WoW, the world is not static for this game)... Some patches would require new map seeds, and having to wipe a map because of smaller patches, constantly, will REALLY frustrate people who enjoy playing long term on servers (our servers are well into day 5000). It's better, and less frustrating on the players and the server managers, to only have to wipe once in a while, when they HAVE to.

I know this game is in it's "alpha" state, and I don't care, I play it like I do when I play WoW. i enjoy whats there, while it's there, (sure i whine about bugs) and then, like with wow, i get excited about whats new and up coming, and then when it's finally here, I'll load in and squeel at all the new shiny things, and prolly die a dozen times before i get the swing of it. (still dont like how fast the new run walk looks, might make me dizzy).

When they feel like they have all the features put in that they want to put in, they will dust themselves off, sweep the cutting floor into a pile, crank the game up and launch BETA, then the real fun begins, where bug reports will Really matter, but this is it, this is where the game takes it's sparkle. All the stuff is in, and now its time to polish it up. Then, when everything is just so, just how it needs to be, nearly bug less, everything amazing, then and only then, can it be called Finished, and I would expect nothing less.

So get off your high horse, and let them do their jobs, asking for your money back is ridiculous, it's not like you're paying a sub, you bought the game, you played the game for hours and hours, imo, it's more then met the price tag already. (heck some games now, you play and get like 40 hours of time in and you bea it, this at least has replay value, more so if you play random maps an on MP servers.)

If you are so horribly disgusted and bored, go play on a modded server, they will refresh the game for you, and keep your attention until the next release. (I still think they should work with a lot of these mod devs if they dont already, they really do create some great things, it would only server to improve their staff even more.)

until then, remove your panties from your craw, and chillaxe bruh.

Yes, and it is working like a charm. Just look at how many posts there have been in the last few hours in General Discussion ;)

I understand what you mean Roland but I think this is part of the so called 'freedom of speech' when I call them lazy because thats the picture I have at the moment.

Its totally ok if you do not agree I respect that but come on one year for an experimental update of an alpha.

If I broke the forum rules in a way that somebody feels harmed I apologize for it.

And I also understand that 'in their house' stuff you told, because it does nit look good if the other people start to think abut the arguments...

But this thread has now over 1300 pages and there is still no update...

Its going to be closer to July 31 and even odds if close means before or after...

And finally if I wont get my money back I'll check if I can sue TFP for harming my mental health, scamming me and cutting my freedom of speech...
Take a deeeeeep breathe. Think of what I said.

You're not helping anyone with talking like that. Not yourself, not TFP, not the progress of the game.

You are right, man. But Its not ok what they do and what Roland said... As I said we all paid money for this and not for a joking Badman Hitler make memes game...

Freedom of speech means you can say whatever you want. You'll still have to deal with the consequences of your words, though.

I suppose the question to ask is how much game development you have ever done? Whether as an amateur, part of school, or professionally?

Seeing the list of changes on their front page, having done game design in school and having worked with software developers, I can tell you that they have done a LOT of work over this past year. Some of it will "only" manifest obviously for modders, others will "only" manifest obviously in performance, but there is a LOT of content there that has been done in the past year.

TBH, outside of crews for companies like EA, where they only make small changes and have a roster of 100 programmers at a time so they can churn out the next Madden or CoD, games can't just be spit out every year very easily.

A game is likely to take roughly 5-7 years to complete without sweeping changes to the core system if you have to build the whole game from the ground up. TFP are doing good. It's just not a quick process, especially when you invite an open access alpha phase.

Moderator note: this is a 'goodbye post', which is against the rules. I'm leaving it intact for continuity.

Thats enough for me. Thanks guys for your answers but I'll play something else and write some reviews about this game and development. Have fun waiting.... and happy gaming
