Yeh, the only real thing it would help modders do is give us a little speed boost making sure our mod is a17 compatible the day it drops, rather than having to feverishly rush to make the changes... it would be nice, but certainly not necessary. =)
Mister MM could do same like he did on A16. Few days earlier to Youtubers.

This time it could be with moders. I see no harm in it.

On the other hand. Dear Moding community - Chill out! Take your time. Play some Vanila :)

I am pretty sure no one will die if mods will roll out month later ;)

Well, maybe we can talk about releasing the XML files early. I dunno.

It would be weird without being able to actually try something but I guarantee there is a lot of new stuff to digest.

Dude, if you could make that happen, that'd be awesome. =)
(Good luck!)
That would be pretty sweet. Just getting a sneak peak would work. We would get too see the new structure on how things are laid out and it should be enough to give us the gist of it. There will always be the finer point questions on certain things but over all I wouldn't mind perusing over it.

Yah, but that's still a ways off. A lot of this stuff has yet to be done. =)

Like... there is no infection or dysentery buff in the file at this time. Those are no technical challenge at all.

The bits that need to get hooked up with other bits have to come first so we're not getting any Very Bad Surprises when things are supposed to get wrapped up.

There's quite some stuff that hasnt even be hinted, yet. LOL

I'm can wait.. ..Oh! ahhh:whistle:.. Nothing to see here move along :playful:

Sounds like a lot of legwork at the moment, to get the finished ideas into being...

Is that a fair assessment?

Anyway, thanks for the update Gazz...

Well, someone has to write the first working version of all buffs and item code without any working examples or documentation because said someone is doing the documentation, too.

It's why someone is very much immune to complaints. ;)

The REAL problem is the SDX mods, since we're dependent on Dom (and now Hal) to update the SDX launcher code thingamajibbie, and historically, that has taken months. It's supposed to be faster going forward, and Lord I know I hope so.

But I don't think that's what the person meant, I think they (PurgatoryWolf) thought that new content would be included in A17 if modders were part of the dev team, but I do disagree with that notion.

The pimps hire modders that make the cut (Alloc and Gazz), so it's not like they're not looking. =)
Or they could just add an override folder already so we don't have to touch the base archives, and just put our replacement stuff following the folder structure in the override folder, kinda like fallout/elder scrolls games, it goes in data folder, and it'll priorities the non-default files over the defaults.

You can't tell me that you can't use a override folder in unity to import models and such. It'd make it so much easier for modders and it can't be THAT hard to implement. You have a folder with a file that tells the game where the mod stuff is, so it uses it.

Someone did suggest modders to play some vanallia but... I find vanallia in A16 to be pretty boring, maybe because i've played it too much already heh.

Is there a timeframe for when Alpha 17 will come to PC?
Yes, we estimate that Madmoles live expectancy is about half a century and we expect for A17 to be released before. For more accurate news: read the poll on this page (it isn't really a poll, it leads to all the information there is)
