When you say July 2018, and then push it back to January-March 2019... Is that what they call a fail?
What do you call it when a baby is two weeks past its "due date"? What do you call it when a book or movie release gets pushed back? What do you call it when the final season of Game of Thrones comes out two years after the penultimate season?

This isn't that difficult, people...

Perhaps a reminder of these selected relevant forum rules are in order (which I doubt many people have actually read)---

Release Date Harassment

Please refrain from spamming the forums requesting information regarding update releases. Civil discussion regarding updates is allowed, and The Fun Pimps want the community to be excited for future updates, but request that you do so in a respectful manner and do not continually request information that the developers and moderation team have already answered or placed a restriction on answering. Furthermore, please do not private message the developers or moderation team requesting information about the update's release schedule. This information will become available with time, and will be available in the developer diary section of the "News & Announcements section of the forums for that particular update.

Doom and Gloom

Do not post predictions of failure regarding the future status of The Fun Pimps LLC, and their games. Statements about the company or it's games failing are demoralizing for the community and do not constitute constructive negative feedback. Do not post accusations of any developer lying to the community or planning to abandon the game. These are libelous comments and unwelcome on the forum and will result in an automatic 3 day suspension from the forums.

I wasn't saying 4-6 months from now. The person I responded to said his friends stopped playing a long time ago so I was counting backwards from Sept/Oct meaning the last 4-6 months of not playing can be good because when A17 drops it will feel fresh.

So... I'll let myself comment again, which i don't normally do that often...

I could compare 7DTD to Terraria in the terms of waiting long. 1.3.5 update was in April 2017 and we are all waiting eagerly for 1.3.6 - without harsh words, bad emotions, etc. I have not noticed anything like that in the forums. The difference is of course that Terraria has already launched long time ago and they don't post any info about the release date (although the spoilers they post... OMG!), but still it is way different than on here.

Secondly, i have played 7DTD in various ways... Vanilla, various mods, making different types of bases and all that... At some point i got bored of doing the same things and stopped playing. I came back after a few months only to have new kinds of fun with the game.

There will be bugs when A17 launches, but considering how TFP (just like Re-Logic is keen on doing) try to deliver the best product (update), i am sure they won't be cumbersome and we will have lots of fun in the upcoming months. The reason i come back to this game is not only that it is great, but also TFP try to adhere to high standards (and it is really hard in this industry) and the community is wonderful... Mostly...

Kudos to you. We all want the game but different people process waiting in different ways. You and I choose to be patient and relish the thought that we will be having fun with another iteration of a fantastic game.

Others choose to be complete and utter BLEEP...well...let's just say Mommy might need to change their diapers again because the maturity levels and ability to be patient seem to lean that direction.

It kinda reminds me of the old joke where an old bull and a young bull were standing on a hill looking down at all the beautiful cow babes at the bottom. The young bull says "hey old fart...let's run down there and have our way with one of those cow babes!" The older bull snorts and says "lets walk down and have our way with them all". (you can substitute "have our way" with cruder language if you wish :D )

I picked Oct 29th because there wasn no November option to vote for.

There comes to a point they should release an unstable version so we can make bugs reports, I mean internal testing with a small dev group takes too long to discover bugs to fix, allow us to find them faster so you can crush them faster. This is not a complaint, just advise.

Honestly.

What do you call it when a baby is two weeks past its "due date"when you have taken two weeks off to be there for your newly birthed child and freshly new mother of your child? What do you call it when a book or movie release gets pushed backwhen you have already paid for it so that you can play/see it in your vacation? What do you call it when the final season of Game of Thrones comes out two years after the penultimate season? When the hype has cooled down so much that the viewernumbers have dropped significantly, reducing the likelyhood of a next season. (to be fair i have no idea about GoT so if there is no new season announced... and yes "final" is often not final anymore in todays culture :D )

fixed it... even if its not a perfect fix with some holes. but it gets the point across.

Can yall at lease give us an update on the A17 release? You've been saying that "we're the closest we've ever been" for 2 weeks.
And thats true, with every day more (except they would find a new gamebreaking bug that need long term care)

It actually doesn't get the point across. I might be a little dense today. (Also, it is the final season of GoT. There will be no story left to tell. They are coming out with a prequel series...)

does not matter, when is release, we are still closer than ever. yesterday we had a day longer to wait. think positive :smile-new:

Well everything you said was unconditionally. What you said has no consequence if it doesnt happen.

But with 7d2d it is (kinda... yes EA is something else) like with the stockmarket.

I have contributed to the development of the game. And I expect at least some return. And the return is more or less steady alphas.

And since A16 is out for about a year now, when some EA titles have finished their game in that timeframe, which means i dont get my moneys worth.

Think about it this way:

You want to surprise someone with a huge cake.

You go to the bakery and say "look! i want this cake can you do it?"

and they say "yup. I don't know how fast I can make it because it is so specific, but I will. And on every step, I will notify you and send you a big tastetest of what is already finished (bottom, cream, topping and so on)."

You send him your money and the first few steps go fairly quickly and the tastetests are nice and leave you yearning for more.

But over time the production is slowing down dramatically. And the only thing he says is "I'm having some problems give me more time"...

and it takes more and more and more time.

TECHNICALLY he said that he doesn't know when he will finish that cake, so he isn't in the wrong.

But you have not only already paid for the whole thing, that you can only enjoy in parts. You don't know when you will get the cake and there is no date and no communication what exactly he is working on right now and what his problems are.

Wouldn't that frustrate you? Just because he said that he doesn't know when it will be finished doesn't mean that you should expect the cake to take a decade. After that you might not even be friends with the guy you wanted to gift it to (don't play games anymore) or the cake becomes dry over time (technology gets better and the game outdated).

Nobody (nobody reasonable at least) is saying "omg you have to deliver tomorrow or I will sue you".

Most ppl are just frustrated and would LOVE for some info of the thing they have paid for.
